Hi I wonder does anyone have bad or good experiences of different manufacturers that supply these carbon "tuning protection parts"? Why I ask this is that I have ordered these parts from three different manufacturers and need to say that quality varies too much. Prices arent that different but still for example my exhaust protection plate from a Italian Montesa Team manufacturer (cant remember the name... ooh) was really poor. I needed to enlarge the bolt holes and when I finally managed to mount it I noticed that it was sticking from the framework 2 cm out so that my leg was scratching it. Also the material was not like expected. It went "grey" as the outer membrane of …

Hello, could someone advise on the correct white to use on the tank and seat unit on my 80's cota 200. I've searched the RAL colours and there seems to be three whites. 9003 signal white 9010 pure white 9016 traffic white Any suggestions would be good or an alternative Halfords rattle can colour, oversprayed with petrol proof lac.The tank and seat unit has an alloy tank under it so no problems with leaky fibreglass. Thanks

I am contemplating performing a complete strip and rebuild of my 2002 315R engine to fix the failed crank seals. While it is open I will look to replace all the various bearings and piston rings etc. It's been a long time since I worked deeply on any engine so I wanted to seek advice on this particular unit. I have normal tools but none of the specialist stuff yet that I'll probably need (like a crankcase puller, etc.). How straightforward is it to work on the HRC engine and are there any particular pitfalls I should watch out for? Thanks in advance

I've just about finished getting the bits and pieces together for my 348 cota rebuild. It has a white 349 integrated tank and seat unit, I've bought a new rubber seat for it from In Motion but there isn't any obvious way of attaching it other than gluing it, any suggestions? The coil that came with it doesn't work, any suggestions on where to buy another suitable coil?

Just serviced the swing arm, linkage and shock bearings on my RT260 - just greased and re-installed. The bit of slop in the travel that was there since new is still there and I’ve pin-pointed the top shock bearing as where there is play. Back in my MX days I remember this was often where play occurred. is it just normal to have a bit of play here?

Hi I'm restoring a 1980 Cota 247C that came to me with the crankshaft broken at the counterweight keyway on the left hand side. Common enough problem. I managed to get a replacement LH half from Cyclesavant in the states. Before I get the assembly rebuilt with a new conrod kit I'd like to replace the ignition side half also, as the keyway and taper both have damage. So I'm looking for a decent ignition side half for a late model with the 20mm pin size. Part number is 2160.00803. Anybody got anything or know of a source either for a crank half or a crank assembly with a good usable ignition side? Any help much appreciated. Hoodie.

Can anybody post up pictures of how the rubber front sprocket cover fits please. I have the cover, below but the fittings to attach it are missing. I can see from the instruction manual that there are some fittings, but the pictures are too small to see clearly. Does it push onto some studs? If you could include some pictures of the cover removed in order that I can see the fittings that would also be very useful. Thanks

I am rebuilding a 84 Cota 200 and am having some carburation woes. Talking to a friend he pointed out that I am using a modern synthetic oil at 50:1 which means the fuel is less viscous than the standard jetting was set for back in the 80's at 25:1. Has anyone esle experience of changing to modern oils at a higher ratio and what jetting changes did you need to make to compensate? many thanks, Gary,
