Hmm, I forgot about the A and B grouping, I wonder which one I'll be in this year
-
I'm really looking forward to Friday, I know that Andy prefers to take photo's of riders with their feet up but I've got a funny feeling that TC.com will be publishing pics of me upside down in a beck!
Bigfoot, was Ben Hemmingway not there?
I think he's very good at teaching trials techniques, he's similar to Steve Saunders who also manages to get the point across very well.
-
Yes BS, very good
I should have phrased my question better, who's idea was it to have 2 huge speakers at either side of the results boards?
PS
That is my only criticism of the whole trial
-
Who's idea was it to have the music? daft buggers
I like Addingham as it's easy for the spectators to see it all but have got to agree that a change of venue would be good for next year. Enjoyed the day though
-
I took about 30 minutes of video so will post some pics later tonight
-
The Saunders trials school was absolutely superb, it was even better than last year, which took some doing!
I'm hoping to put photo's on the gallery sometime today (just waiting for them to be emailed to me). The venue this year was unbelievable, set in a great piece of woodland - it had steep rocky gulley's, steps of all sizes, huuuuuuuuge steep sided banks, a bit of Yorkshire mud and loads of fast winding trails between sections. We had hot sunny weather, which made the going pretty tough at times especially when Steve made us ride a half-mile gulley twice! He said that it would be good practice for The Scott !!!
Steve's method of teaching was brilliant as per last year. He soon worked out everybody's ability and set sections out with several routes so that everybody could start off easy'ish and add in the harder bits gradually.
We all really enjoyed it - riding your bike for 3-days with a good group of blokes and a couple of very talented youngsters made it worth every penny - Thanks to Steve, David and Pete the landowner).
PS
Mike Little from the NE was there with his Dad who also took plenty of photo's so hopefully Hilary (Mike's wife) will post them on here too...

"I'll be back"
-
T'is true, I love it really
-
Yes, very good Perce
Is anybody ever going to forget my little detour?
-
-
Cahors 200 miles
Andorra 300+ miles
Bit too far for me I'm afraid
-
You can never be too loose on a trials bike
-
A place called Argeles which is about halfway'ish between Montpelier and Barcelona.
Just going for a holiday (no Beta) but wouldn't mind seeing a local trial if there is one on somewhere.
-
-
I'll be in the South of France from 11th September for 2 weeks, anybody know if there are any trials worth going to in that area?
Cheers
-
I blagged 20 minutes on Neil Crosswaites Scorpa 125 at last weeks Alan Jeffries trial. It felt weird but it was a nice weird
I rode up a long/steepish bank in 2nd and thought it was going to run out of steam but it kept going right to the top.
The only thing I couldn't get used to was the clutch, apart from that the bike felt great.
-
I'm sure I got through that section for a 1 but the commentator says: "... and he takes a couple of steadying dabs on the way out"
Those 2 dabs were after the end cards - I think!
PS
I thought it should have been called the '2004 Gizza5 SSDT' seeing as you appeared so often
-
I picked up the DVD version this morning - 2 disks,
-
That would work too but a bit more work involved
-
The airbox is the fiddliest thing on the Beta but is still straightforward enough: -
Remove the rear silencer (1 x nut & bolt)
Remove the middle box (1 x bolt then twist and pull)
Undo the 4 subframe screws
The airbox should now drop down and come out unless somebody has siliconed the gap between the airbox and right hand frame (good mod to stop vibration).
When putting it all back together, the rubber boot to the carb is best done with the middle box still out. Fit the exhaust last.

Please, please tell me somebody got a photo of Ishy going ar*e over t*t

That makes my lap scores of 51 and 48 look a bit *****
-
I went and really enjoyed the trial, decent lap length and challenging sections (for me!). Had to queue a bit at the first few sections but not too bad. Best part of the day was handing my punch card in just as it started to p*** down with rain
No results yet, anybody got news on the young lass that split her knee open? Somebody said it was broken "Ouch!"
