    Ssdt

Bit unfair to group us together and call us all 'dickheads' and 'pussies'. Go back to the beginning of the thread and count up how many agreed with the original post and how many didn't! I entered the SSDT and the Scott this year and didn't finish either of the buggers - hopefully I'll get another chance in 2005 and do better I've the utmost respect for the women that ride trials and never get p****d off when when they thrash me week in, week out. It bugs me when I hear people say "Women shouldn't ride the SSDT because they are cheating some poor bloke out of an entry". Grumpy old farts with old fashioned attitudes!!! The ladies ride the same amount of days, same course, same weather, and have to deal with the same problems that the blokes encounter. I'm sure that most of them would admit that they aren't as physically strong as blokes. This in my eyes, shows that they have bigger balls than most blokes
  2. I didn't realise she was deaf! I spoke to her a few months ago at a Richmond trial where she must have been thinking "If I smile and nod politely - he might go away" My brother is profoundly deaf so I know how hard it can be to lip-read someone who keeps turning away and not speaking clearly. Next time I see her I'll explain that I'm a bit thick at times (shut it BS, Ishy, Perce, Andy, HL and all the other wind-up merchants) PS Well done Kathryn...

    05 Rev 3

A bloke at our Club runs the NGK Platinum plugs, I can't remember the number but he says the bike runs cleaner.

    Rev 3, Any Faults?

C'mon lets have some details... How much and where from?
  5. Me and a mate went last Saturday, great venue - no chicken sheds. Plenty to see, more MX than Trials but still a very good show. The Live Action arena was brilliant especially the 'speed trial'. I reckon James Lampkin needs to get a new stopwatch though. Young Dabill absolutely flew round the course but the win went to Colley Well done to the organisers, I'll be going again next year as I'm sure it will be even better.
  6. I'll be going on Saturday, I want some 'kinell' stickers making up
  7. That's the worst chat-up line ever
  8. The only way to find your limits is to push yourself to the limit
  9. Aye, cheeky gits used my petrol and said "Sod him, he won't get this far anyway" I got all 5 cans back but not a single spout/pourer thingy
  10. Sounds like it was a tad hard, did you let riders pull out of the section after they made a genuine attempt? Get yerself entered - I'll sponsor your fuel (I've got loads left over )
  11. I saw a lot of blurs - red, blue, yellow. Amos nearly binned it when he raced past... I was stranded for about 20 minutes just before section 18 whilst trying to fix the chain and only saw 4 or 5 bikes go past. Every other bugger had passed me on the moors. I'm sure I didn't hold anyone up though, well apart from Underbanks "Sorry fella's" Sunt, how much did your 'training day' raise at the auction?
  12. Quite a few people ran out of fuel yesterday, Boyd Webster twice and my mate David who had to wait for over an hour before a marshall got him some James said that he punctured both tyres, ran out of fuel and I think he also said that he drowned his bike too. Mind you, I was p****d at the time so it might have been someone else that went swimming Gary Mac' was either the 3rd or 4th man back I think! Ben Hemmingway's bike split a water hose, he rode the last section in a cloud of steam and just got his front wheel through the ends cards before the bike died. He managed to get it going again and just about limped it back to the finish.
  13. Amos was the only rider on a Mont 4 stroke. It's bloody loud, I heard him coming up behind me and moved out of the way fast - sounds good, very raspy. It was very wet yesterday and it was nice to see the bike finish without any of the problems that everybody has been banging on about! There were another 2 Monts on the start field available for riders to play on. I only had 2-3 minutes on one but liked it straight away - crack the throttle open and it responds instantly, not what I was expecting at all I heard that John Sunter was 10 - 15 minutes in front towards the end of the day but unfortunately got a front puncture He was smiling at the awards ceremony though, whilst signing his autograph.... The only 05 Beta I saw was parked up on display by TW Bikesport. The clutch and front brake master cylinders are new along with both brake calipers. I want one and I want one now

    Scott Poll

I wish Sunt, if I do manage to get as far as the GM - I'll try my bestest to get round it! Only 3 days to go now and I've treated my faithful old Beta to new tyres, brake pads, wheel bearings and mudflap. Repacked the exhaust, changed the oil, stripped the carb, then greased and tightened everything else up. She still runs and I never broke a thing. Looks like I'll be riding on Saturday now
  15. Steve Colley ? Jordi Tarres ? (I think I've seen this one before somewhere!) Andreu Codina ?
  16. Spoke to James 2 weeks ago, Sandifords had just rung him and said that the new Monts would arrive on Sunday the 17th. He wanted to ride his at the Lakes so that he'd be used to it in time for the Scott. He also said that he rode one for about 20 minutes and that they were a very good piece of kit.
  17. Just received my 'Final Instructions' and the 'Scott Souvenir Programme' through the post today. The glossy, full-colour programme looks very impressive and must have taken some time to put together so professionally. Looking at the statistics, 1998 must have been a really tough year - only 2 finishers for every 10 starters From 1999 through to 2003 inclusive, only 2 out of every 5 riders finished the Scott. I think I need a stiff drink
  18. Congratulations to Steve Colley who won the championship today, commiserations to Shaun Morris
  19. I'll say hello if I get that far
