  1. "Ee, when I were a lad" I remember splitting the petrol tank on an old 125cc roadbike that we used to terrorise the local community with when I was about 14. I whipped the knackered tank off and taped a fairy liquid bottle to the frame with the petrol pipe going straight to the carb - it soon ended in tears when the bike burst into flames with me and a mate on the back of it. We were doing about 50mph down a cobbled back street at the time and were being chased by the Police. I was hard on the brakes screaming at him to bail off so that I could get off but he crapped himself and I got treated to roasted nuts on an open barbeque. Matey on the back said later "I thought we'd go faster if I squeezed the bottle to speed up the petrol flow !!!" We only tried it the once for some reason

  12. Maybe the wife has a big thumb Sorry Jim
  13. I was surprised to read about James Lampkin and Ben Hemmingway on the front page as they swap jobs and bikes for 2005! As most folk will remember, Ben said that his WR ride at Moutier, Switzerland would be his last attempt. Changing bikes in favour of the new Montesa 4rt and minding for Dougie - does this mean he is putting his trials career on hold (temporarily)? He's obviously a very talented rider himself which makes him an ideal candidate for the job. Obviously James does a very good job with Dougie but maybe he's thinking about his own career now and wants to see how far he can progress. Maybe James will now concentrate on Euro/World rounds himself without having to worry about keeping DL at the top... Any thoughts?
  14. Not late enough for some of us though !!! Why does it have to be on New Years Day, is it just a traditional thing or something else?
  15. I usually see it in double vision
  16. It's at the front on mine...

  18. It was late, dark, the Police stopped the trial and I wasn't the only one....
  19. Mine has got 3 connectors (JVC GR-DVP5) USB for still images S/AV for Telly Firewire for PC Still images taken with the 'snapshot' feature are very clear but any frames 'grabbed' (using software) from video images are lousy. Plugging it straight into the TV using the S/AV port gives crystal clear video. I bought a DVD recorder so that I could record the video from the TV to DVD. I then tried to copy the DVD to PC so that I could edit it but couldn't be a***d with all the messing about. I then got a firewire card for the PC and downloaded 'Pinnacle' video editing software free for 90 days. You can do quite a bit with this software but it takes some getting used to. It lets you burn to disk in loads of different formats VCD, SVCD, DVD, AVI, MPEG, WMV etc. etc. Some of the stuff that has been on TC.com was captured and edited using Pinnacle software. Are you sure there aren't any more connector ports hidden on the Video camera? What make and model is it?
  20. It's pointless telling you to turn the idle screw up, as it will want to set off on it's own. My daughters bike did the same so I took it back to the shop, not sure what they did to it but it's been right ever since In fact, I think they put a new carb on it if I remember correctly...
  21. "Plenty of people" That's how rumours are supposed to spread isn't it? I wouldn't take it personally Shercool, it's just that a rumour is generally classed as utter ******* B*****ks unless it can be backed up by fact(s)
