I do but she likes a bit of rough maintenance now and again
I usually replace the standard Beta pegs with the Hebo ones straightaway but I've left them on the new bike this time. One thing I did notice is that the 05 pegs are much wider than the 04 ones but, they still clog up with mud!!!
I'll put some Hebo's on for Scotland
-
Nice little tip that...
Or, you could do it the kinell way: -
Big hammer
-
I noticed that the 04 and 05 front mudguards are identical except for the sticker...
-
Hmm, I was thinking about the 'Team Extreme' Scorpa bikes too...
Anybody seen the promo cover of the new 'Trials World' magazine? I'm sure it's Dan Clark but he's on a very shiny Sherco - has he switched brands already or was it more of a "Here's a new Sherco, throw it at that wall for our camera man"
I'd imagine that the new Scorpa importer would look at all the existing sponsored riders and have a re-shuffle depending on latest results/potential
-
If we can find somewhere legal to practice on the Saturday, we will set off on the Friday after work. But, it looks doubtful at the moment so we'll probably just travel up on Saturday morning and either drive back after the trial or first thing Monday morning.

My entry is winging it's way northwards this evening
Sat Nav arriving Tuesday, so I'm guaranteed to find Scotland again
-
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that Ishy made his own mini-loom and showed it to RYP - they asked him to make some up instead of "ligging on't couch" all day long
He declined their kind offer - surprise surprise
I've got to say that the extra work RYP does by publishing stuff like that PDF file is a credit to them. The Sherco and USA Gas Gas sites are full of little gems like that one...
-
-
I remember Ishy brought something very similar to that for last years SSDT. We were stood in the Sherco area on Sat afternoon and he was chopping away at the existing wiring loom like a madman!
Once all the crap was out of the way, he plugged his version in and it fired up straightaway. I reckon it was a fluke miself
-
Hmm, good to know but I wonder if my Dunlops are legal
-
Judging from the latest replies, I'd hazard a guess that Birkett is going to be the UK Scorpa importer?
Is this based on summat in TMX?
-
Yep, 41 tooth rear sprocket on 2004 and 2005 Beta's as standard.
-
Anybody seen the little video on James Lampkin's website? I didn't realise James did that sort of stuff - pretty impressive really.
And that final jump looks massive from that angle, it doesn't look that big when you're sat down at Sheffield arena
-
I've just made a simple Excel spreadsheet using those formulas.
I found that keeping the rear sprocket standard at 41 teeth but changing the front from the standard 11 tooth to the 13 tooth will make the bike 15.38% faster using the same RPM's in each gear!
-
I've no chance of winning the 'green' route so I'm safe for the time being
-
Which sections were different on the green route? Did you ride the hard route on sections 1, 2, 4 & 5 ?
If yes, then I reckon I could have a go at them as they are like the clubby route at Bradford trials.
-
Number 11 on a Beta.
So, do I ride the rest of the season as a Novice and go for the glory or move up to the green route and get thrashed as per usual?
-
Which route did you ride mozchops? I rode the Clubman course and it was a bit too easy if I'm honest. Next time I'll try the Green route if I'm feeling a bit braver
Anyway, good to hear that the club is carrying on for another year. Well done and thanks to all involved

I watched Tom Sagar ride the last couple of sections at Lagnaha farm last year. It was great to see him hopping and popping about for a clean but what does the Observer write down after seeing and hearing the spectators cheering and clapping?
I'm a bit stubborn and consider myself stopped only when I've parted company with my beloved Beta - until then, I try to keep going and going. Some of the Observers gave me the benefit of the doubt and scored me a 3 last year, probably because I cheered them up or they felt sorry for me...
-
Crikey, I wish I hadn't asked now - 20th out of 21 riders
That is the worst result I've had in 2 years!!! There must be some good Clubman riders up there
-
-
Sod the decibel arguments and noise abatement rabble - she could make as much noise as she wants if she'd let me run her in
-
If you need a real crash test dummy to try it out - send it to me
-
Any results anywhere? Does the Westmoreland Club have a website?
Cheers
