The higher c of g on the 199a is most noticeable when lifting the bike onto a stand or when loading, I am quite tall so fit the 124 a bit better than the 199a with its higher footrests which is why I bought the 124 plus I had always wanted one anyway. The Bultaco bikes that I have never ridden are the ones that appear to have the long tank/short seat presumably the 159 or 183 mentioned by Sherpa 325???
The later bikes had the swing arm pivot bolt through frame, s/arm & engine mount, the 124 and earlier did not go through the engine mount so probably less rigid but did the through bolt design come in with the 325 engine too handle the extra power.
-
I had no idea that the steering angle differed on the b models. I have a 124 & 199a the engine does seem to sit lower on the 124 yet this seems to make no difference to the handling that I have noticed.
-
The Sherpa had a few frames during its lifetime but I have often wondered if there was a single model that handled best of all or was every model change better than that previous?
-
Bultaco UK can obtain all the parts reqd, thank you Legs.
-
Better to get the correct puller, they are available new from Marlimar OSSA along with the spring.

Signed it.
I believe that anyone with an interest in motorsport of any kind should support this petition.

Hi Legs, I have sent a message to you.
-
Has anyone here on Trials Central purchased Bultaco parts from Romero Motos
http://romeromotos.com/ingles/principaleng.htm
-
Hi sorry to read of your misadventure. Whilst the Bultaco points set up is excellent and not too difficult to set up properly if you need to replace or have the coils rewound I would seriously consider the electronic option from Bultaco UK they are very good and easy to fit.
-
In the eighties quite some time after Bultaco ceased production there was a new 198B in Sandiford's Bury showroom. I remember it vividly each time I went in it seemed to say BUY ME now I wish I had!

Merry Christmas to all on TC and to Andy plus a big thank you for an excellent website.

Or a chav kicks it in while you are stopped at traffic lights!

A few questions on EFI please now we have a place to ask them,
Are EFI units readily available or do they need to be made by the bike company.
What type of pump is used to pressurise the system.
Is there an atomizing injector which presumably on a two stroke would spray into the inlet tract.
Is a reed valve needed or fitted.
Hope the above provides answers not arguments???
-
Already seen this done by a guy who rode classic trials on a 500cc Matchless. Personally I thought it an horrendous way to move a motorbike, have not seen him around for ages though.
-
Any one yet found out/worked out what the differences are between the two models Combat & Ice Hell?
-
Is EFI manufactured and supplied to bike makers as are other components or does each maker have to produce their own system?
-
Personally I avoid supermarket fuel like the plague, I find compared to branded fuels performance and mpg are both reduced many other people have said similar. Use super unleaded in the trials bike.

Fuel for the fire?...http://www.edmondson-racing.co.uk/technical_info.html
-
Does EFI (electronic fuel injection) give more power or is it another means of achieving the same as a carburettor but possibly more easily achieving future emission requirements.
On a two stroke motor cycle is the fuel injected into the combustion chamber, into the inlet or into the crankcases, with pre mix the bottom end bearings still need lubrication.
How do the systems work that are fitted to the OSSA & 4RT, I am aware that the 4RT is a four stroke so might differ from that fitted to the OSSA but is a pump required, presumably the vertigo will require a pump to lift the fuel from the low level tank?

Try Allens Used Trials Spares here...http://www.allensusedtrialsspares.co.uk/#/bikes-breaking/4560010283

Thank you for that information. It seems that trials is going to get very interesting, I wonder what the current makers have planned to retain customer interest in their products?

Any one know if the TRS bike is to be announced anytime soon?

The clutch of my 2010 evo has always dragged some. While usable, I'm always looking for ways to improve it.
I ran into this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvsdbgmTuuM
where they use different washers to adjust the clutch feel. Has anyone tried doing that ?
http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/28407-the-beta-clutch-fix/
Above is the answer to the clutch issue.
-
Try the Beta Rev 3 200, you may well find that less is more.

The only way to ensure a carb is properly clean is by using an air line and blow gun with a small nozzle to force any dirt or moisture through and out of all the nooks & crannies that exist in a carb, a workshop air compressor is as essential as spanners for bike maintenance.
