  1. Yes please let us know how it works in competition.
  2. Hi Bultacorock, thank you for the interesting photo's and info. Is the choke size of the new carb 26 or 28mm, Is there any clutch slip at all now with the new plates fitted?
  3. Would you please pm me the contact details for the exhaust supplier.
  4. What a great restoration job. Have you lengthened the swing arm or is it standard, which exhaust is used & how did you change the handlebar clamps?
  5. Thank you for sharing the pictures. The County tractor is also a valuable classic, these tractors have an interesting history with lots of web info available on them.

    Ossa Mar

Hi Nigel, You must warm the alloy hub before removing the bearings or you will drag alloy from the bearing housings when the bearing's are removed, this will wreck the hubs. A heat gun is probably the best thing to warm the hubs with but get them warm enough first then a gentle push from the opposite side using a drift which has a smaller diameter than the wheel spindle (less than 12mm) so that you can wriggle the spacer tube to one side. Brute force is not the way here. Good luck please let us know how it goes.
  11. No they are not, Geoff Bungay sold his stock to I think Dave Renham InMotion Bultaco UK.
  12. I have bought these guards from Steve, he stocks them in white, light grey or dark grey. The front guard has a square end, no mud flap. The rear is full length with a good radius, unlike some full length ones out there which curve back in toward the tyre.
  13. 15ft/lbs at 3 stages, maybe 5/6 10 then the 15 is the figure I have for the MAR OSSA. Hub paint ? Would be interested myself in the paint type.
  14. As above, leave well alone. The pivots while looking to be a little pitted should not affect brake performance at all, just smear them with grease when assembling the brakes they will work just fine.
  15. Congratulations Robert what a result a brilliant ride. I could not make it to the trial this year due to pressure of work, was your dad on pit crew duty? I looked out for him at Stafford but our paths did not cross.
  16. If smaller hands can reach the lever ok then give it a try. I put the easy clutch on our TY80 & it worked just fine but they can take a little bit of setting up initially, wonder if the two could be used together? Please let us know how it works out.
  17. Other than fuel injection on a two stroke it is hard to imagine anything different coming along. OSSA had a slope back cylinder but that is hardly radical. A couple of years ago there were reports in the UK media of hydrogen fuel cell commuter bikes being released, what happened to them? though in London there are or were when I was last there fuel cell powered buses in service. Different would be good but you have to wonder if more makers produce things that are broadly similar will it dilute the market to such a degree so as to reduce profitability, development and progress. I do however wish the project well & Dougie a successful ride in the SSDT aboard the Vertigo bike.
  18. They were all the same I believe, if you can post photo's (I do not know how to) there are people on here who will be able to identify it for you. Steve Sell Marlimar OSSA is the person to contact for spares and advice. I will pm you his details.

    Works Majesty

Were the OW10 engines made for the cantilever mono shock bikes? Some superb one off bits used there. Hope a restoration is planned & you ride it when finished.
  21. Good looking bike Martin, a great rebuild. Have you altered the steering stem position in the yokes or where the fork legs go through, does the change give no offset or run out bringing the legs & stem parallel ? How much shorter is the wheelbase as a result of the change and does the wheel/mudguard still clear ok.
  22. My trials bikes have always been two stroke, the Cub motor is certainly different being a lot punchier, still smooth but surprisingly powerful for 200cc with a great sound track. I imagine R cam, high comp piston might be the Cub scrambles engine spec. I have only seen one Cub scrambler that was at the Red Marley Hill Climb and it certainly went very well against mostly bigger capacity bikes.
  23. The set up on my bike is low comp piston, late side points motor with PVL ignition and Del Orto carb. I rode two other Cub's each low comp piston, electronic ign, one had the Del Orto carb the other a small Mikuni from a Honda.
  24. My 199 Cub is fitted with the R cam, it always has had this cam so I have no comparison but at a trial today I rode a 199cc Cub with similar engine set up to my bike but with the std Cub camshaft. Now I realise that bike set up is subjective and it could have been the 'new broom' thing but the std cam seemed to provide as much power at the bottom end but possibly a more controllable and steadier pick up. The R cam really makes the motor go once off tick over but having ridden the alternative set up I now am thinking might this be the way to go? In most trials you simply do not require loads of power, a smooth engine seems better so what cam is most widely used in the little Triumph Tiger.
