Put the proper throttle back on and she ticks over - a little rattley but not as bad as my other ..... So bring on the next sammy miller round !!!!

I think it was 200cc of 10 - 30 engine oil for the clutch ( daft as it sounds ) and 300cc of 80 weight gearbox oil in the gearbox as I remember. I'll confirm tomorrow if you like ??

John, Not really - I don't think you can really improve the feel with the standard steel plates. It works ok but is either in or out - you can't feather it like a more modern bike. One of the lads I know has had some plates reworked by putting some fibre on every other (like a modern clutch). He has then fitted a longer brass bar to push on the spider so it clears. His is a 349 though - and I'm still trying to find out where he got it all done ...... I've just used standard oils as original. If you try something else I'd be interested with your thoughts ?? As I didn't feel the problem was oil related but facing related!! On another note - my throttle is sorted - I had a modified throttle tube that I've stupidly replaced with A standard one - hence it wasn't shut off properly Cheers As always The Wobbler

Gents Thanks for the comments. As ridiculous as it sounds I think it could be a combination of things..... I've swapped everything off my other 247 engine ..carb .....carb to head manifold and throttle cable. Everything seems just a little bit out !!! Throttle cable too long ....I had a longer one made as it was catching on lock ...So I'll try the old one again ...I'll also take the carb off and check all of the connections etc ...... At least it runs and its not too rattly !!!! Cheers as always The Wobbler.

John - don't think so - as it opens and closes freely. Was a bit rushed yesterday so I'll have another go today. Looks a bit naked with no tank cover on ??? Cheers The Wobbler.

Spare engine in - fired first kick !! But them just revs up on its own !! Crank seals ?? Any thoughts Cheers The wobbler
  8. It's personal preference sadly - I know woody's a falcon man - nut I'm a rock shocks man. Sadly you need to make a choice and stick with it - or have some mates whose bikes you can try !!! Cheers As always The Wobbler

  11. Matisse - I see that robregordo is at the start of October in 2015 ..... Would be great to fit them both in ???
  12. That's great thanks. I was looking at trying to get a few people together for next year and trying - it was a rough idea of the dates that I needed. Could you give me an idea of how and where you travel ...... Cheers The Wobbler

John, Great work looks spot on. Keep the posts coming . Cheers The wobbler !!
  15. Sadly I can't make it - Due to prior commitments. I hope the series organisers get the dates out early for next year as I would commit to doing them all - By the time I'd got this years dates I had too much in the diary already..... It's a good series and a good idea - I hope it continues !!! As always The Wobbler !!!!
  16. Furse, Nice bike ....If you get a chance could you send me a side on photo. I'm just about to get the pegs moved and begin a rebuild .....Are they moved the same as the 240 ?? Down and back in line with the front of the tyre ??? What shocks are you using & what length 360 ?? to quicken the steering ??? An air box pic would be good too. And finally whats the back box off ??? Cheers As always The Wobbler

Try Richard allen for a replacement leg - he'll have a few as it's usually the sliders that are rusted !!

Jonny - my thoughts were the same as steve - unless you've got an early "works" bike !!!! All the stock 201/241 & 301's had a front disc . I think all of the fork legs are the same - so either a twin shock or mono shock would fit. The only reason I offered to swap was that I have a twinshock with a disc wheel put in it and I'll need to put it back to a drum for competition. You could get the leg alloy welded - I've seen some positive posts on the site about it. Cheers The Wobbler

    200 clutch

Eddie, Thanks - I see now - I'll give it a go. B40 RT - If the link doesn't sort it that's the route i'll go - It's for a friend of mine's bike and he's not a pot hunter so no one will be bitching about it not being in the spirit !!!!! As Always The Wobbler
  20. Can someone post a link for the details. There are a group of us thinking of going next year ...... Some more information would be very helpful. Cheers The Wobbler

    200 clutch

Fantic Guru's I've searched the forum to find any more information on Lightening the 200 Minarelli Clutch - But I can't seem to find a definitive answer ... can any body advise me and maybe post some pictures of the finished mod ....... Or is it go down the "Apico Lightener " route Any help would be great. Cheers as always The Wobbler

Can you post a picture if where it's damaged? And when new I'm sure they all had a front disc and rear drum. You'll see there are 2 lugs on the left hand fork leg for the calliper - you have a brake stay into one of them !! Cheers As always t The Wobbler !!!!

I would swap you a front wheel with a disc on it - along with a brake / calliper & reservoir etc. If you want to return it to standard spec. Bob Wright motorcycles for your parts ...... Cheers The Wobbler
  24. John . It's the only tank that will work as the petrol tap is on the right (non exhaust side). The problem is I need a new tap and that's more than the tank cost. My plan is to get it painted red - just to keep some authenticity. Has anyone got a colour code for Montesa red ?? Cheers The Wobbler
