  1. Sorry if it has already been posted . But can anyone post some photos or give me some precise information on moving & replacing the footpegs on a Fantic 241 (front disc & rear drum model) progress 1. I have a friend who can do it but will need some measurements etc. Thanks in advance. As always "The Wobbler"
  2. Gary, I'm from Carlisle and might know someone with some 247 spares that might help you . It was the same style as yours with the clutch arm underneath - I have a later one 79 - that's got the clutch arm on top of the casing. Give me a shout on 07801 447 616 and i'll give you his number Cheers Wobbler (Paul)
  3. The best thing to do will be just to get your "Monkey" in the chair and go to a solo trial. Riding round will be hard enough......From Experience. Enjoy The Wobbler
  4. Super Hero's beware there is a new crew out there It's FATTY & BATTY bringing peace and tranquility to the world of sidecars. Watch out Tucky & Sparkesy

    Ossa, Action Pics

Good Video - But I don't think it means I could ride it very well .... I've seen Carl Batty do all that hopping stuff on a James !! Wonder what it'll be like for a plodding clubman... It certainly looks the part..... Here's hoping I win the lottery..... The Wobbler.
  6. Hoggy, Ask at the Trial if anyone has any thing to sell then you can try it out. Don't panic as there are plenty of bikes for sale - get your mate to help you. Cheers The Wobbler
  7. Hoggy, Check the upcoming events on the right hand side of the front page. Sunday 14th Feb there is a Bassenthwaite trial at Glennridding .... Go along and maybe observe - you can probably have a play in between riders as long as you ask at the start. They're all a good bunch of lads ... Just watch out for "Jasper" Maybe even have a solo outing myself if the hangovers not so bad. Enjoy The "Wobbler"
  8. Is this new style of helmet that I saw two drivers wearing at "the Peak" last year legal. I don't think it would matter to either of them. Is there a matching "Orange one Piece on the Market" Happy New Year to all of the sidecar crews. The Wobbler
  9. Blackie, Thanks Mate. Keep trying to catch up for a beer - Just have'nt quite been near enough. looks like I might have to come and buy you one now. A very happy New Year to you too. I'll give you a call. the "Wobbler"
  10. I now have a cota 247 Frame no 21M253** circa 1979/1980 I have seen a couple with mods done to the Rear Shocker angle and also the bottom tubes being replaced with a full (more modern style) one peice sump guard and obviously replacing the standard footpegs with some more modern ones. Does any one have a handbook/maual available with all of the fork/gearbox/clutch oil amounts etc Any advice would be a great help. Thanks & a happy New Year Wobbler
  11. That's not a contract........ Thats the regulations for "Sidecar Crews" Straght out of the ACU handbook........
  12. This year in the Isle of Man the last placed crew in the "British Sidecar Championships" Tim " Smokey" Walker ( Brother of Johny & Son of Ronny) and Paul " Wobbler" Norman will be trying to raise some money for the Great North Air Ambulance (as well as finish the trial) As we come from Cumbria its fairly close to our heart. This year Like ourselves in the Sidecar , the Air Ambulance is having quite a hard time, and as it's something that we can all relate to - it would be nice to try and help. We are going to try and Finish this year so if you see us please help. Especially Sparky the "Twin Shock Pot Hunter". Thanks The "Wobbler
  13. Honda Trials, There is more than one, I just don't know as many people as Robin. Enjoy your first event and take plenty of Band Aids - You could have a few tumbles. But all of the crew's will help you out. Make sure you do the socialising , normally its a beer in the pub - its what sidecar trials is about. Make sure you keep us updated. Good Luck and enjoy. Wobbler
  14. Greg D, Sometimes you just have to hang on a bit more and enjoy the experience when you're a passenger... It can be fun on the DARK SIDE..... More should try it. I think he can do some graphics for you ....But he must think you're a FISHERMAN , because I'm sure he mentioned "*** TROUTS" or something like that. Wobbler
  15. It's what they call a Wrap (I believe). If you can provide a design or a photo (as long as you have copyright) then Nick will be able to do something for you. My original Sherco stickers came off after a bout a year - and these have been on since 2006 - but could probably do with changing now. As for the way it rides - Much better than me. Wobbler
  16. Try Nick Ormiston at www.grafixsigns.co.uk He does my graphics - i'll try to attach a picture
  17. Dan, Bleeding Hell ! I used tp have one just like that, I think i remember the guy saying it was an RTL piston. Good luck Wobbler
  18. Guys, Ride the "Alan Trophy" it never starts any where near Kendal. It's like the "Travers" I think it starts at st John's . Enjoy the weekend i'tll be worth it. Wobbler
  19. Entries are now filling up for the Cumberland County Motor Cycling Club 2 day trial on 20/21st June. This is just a bit of an update - There will be 2 courses of good old fashioned straight forward sections based around Newbiggin and taking in a fair amount of the Alan Trophy course. Quite a few people have booked for camping (Available from Friday Night Onwards) at the start and there will be a food van and toilets. There is also going to be an outside bar on the Saturday Night , and along with the "Blue Bell Inn" which is 3-4 minitutes walk away i'm sure there will be a few partaking in one or TWO, and as the course is all off road - NO WORRIES about being over the limit in the morning. Rumour is Gary "Bing " Bingley's getting the BULTO out - So watch out all you Twin Shock Guru's . For any more information ring : Graham "Adam Lager" Teasdale on 07816669876 or email him at g.teasdale@fsmail.net looking forward to seeing everyone there. Wobbler
  20. Wurzel, We were waiting until the isle of man to break the news about our sponsorship deal with Osset ...... The New big Wheel Model will suit us down to the ground ...... And it does'nt need any anti freeze ....That's always good for us. Wobbler
  21. Dave, Go to a British Sidecar Round and have a look . Some of the boys are always updating their bikes & to be honest unless you've had a go before , the Outfits will all be much better than the rider and passenger . You can trust me on that one - we've proved that its got nothing to do with Solo riding. The next round is "The Doncaster Cup" on the 14th of June. Good luck , you'll need it . Wobbler
  22. Sorry ! I've remembered some more. Frank Hetherington , Frank & Andrew Smith , Johhny Harrison on his RTL and from that famous trials emporium in Junction Street " Maysons Off Road Centre" Mayson Wear ( both Senior & Junior) Where are you all Now -
  23. What a great idea by the Cumberland Club. As a boy I can remember watching numerous Alan Trophy's and many centre rounds like the Dixie Dee at Newbiggin. It would be great to see some of the old names there for a weekend. Here are a few that I can name who are still riding In the Schoolboys there was the legendary Gary " Bing" Bingley and Robert "Dobbo " Dobson Mark Barrow , Tim Walker(now converted to the Dark Side of Sidecars) & Nigel Pattinson - In Club trials there was Robin Oliphant and Jasper on the Turnuki. In Centre trials it was Chris and Dave Myers & Nick Sheilds. But what of those never heard of any more Stephen & Mike Barton , Dave "Wilbur " Williams , Dave Shephard , Eric "Fosh" Foster , The Turner Brothers ( Nick, Andrew & Peter) , Chris Ellison , Howard Jackman , Paul " The Fireman " Corbishley , Sean Lawless & Michael Hadden. Then there are a few who are sadly no longer with us - Kevin Bleasdale , David Mitchinson & Bille Hadden. It would be great to see some old faces out on some old bikes I'm sure they are still around. Maybe some one has some old results or photos from some trials of that era. You never know - Jack Pears might come and observe !!!!! I wonder what they all look like now - probably like me a lot of grey hairs and a lot more pounds in weight. Wobbler
  24. We're going to try and do both days this year - One shock is better than 2 3 Brakes are better then none
  25. Rappers, If you can get Mannix back in the Chair you are welcome to use the old beast any time you like. We are now looking for a more modern outfit and we are going to have a proper attempt. If we could get a few crews started in Cumbria/ lancs it would be great for the sport.. Sorry I never thought about asking you on Sunday. An Stu, Thanks for that but we'd have caused Bl**dy Havoc with a Great Big Knife Like That. see you all again next year..... Wobbler
