Looks are insignificant Weight I have already said Handling - dont know till I built it but I would plan to make the same or similar COG to current designs so should be good. Power - bit of a naive question as the power to weight ratio would significantly increase if the overall weight decreases Materials: Titanium, Carbon Fibre, A variety of plastics and composites . Really too early to tell exactly as its just a concept.. I havent built anything as yet.. The idea is to see what people would pay for a bike this light.. then I might just do it. And I wont be hacking another bike. It would be designed and built from scratch.

Yes Daz, after I had a chat with you I thought I would take a look at it to see what I could come up with. Just a concept at this stage but im sure its possible.

I was playing around designing some variations of trials bikes using lightweight materials and I think it would be possible to produce a 250cc machine with suitable strength below 60Kg in total weight.(Based on using a GasGas engine) My question is, How much would someone be willing to pay for a bike like this.

Dont think its all got to do with your technique as I had the same problem. The way the stock setup is with the dellorto it gives a very sharp kick when you open the throttle from low revs. I found this gave rise to the front end jumping away on tight camber locks. I struggled with it for a bit then decided to take the advice from Howard Wallace and fit the Keihin.. The difference is extremely significant and is much much softer at the bottom end ! but still has the grunt from mid range.. You can see the whole dialogue . Click Here The bike is much more friendly to ride now and I truly suggest you give it a try. With reference to the over heating.. Mine now runs with the fan on %90 of the time with the stock plug/coolant/header cap..

I have a design engineer who works for me who is also a very good photographer. his name is Lee Johnson and he took that pic. I was doing the video on the day.. when I have finished the site, the whole series and the videos will be on there.. heres another one and this was a big rock!!

Its only a social trial so we wont be marking out the routes very hard.. and we have a local rider Dave Pengilley, who rides a twinshock Fantic who usually drops less marks for the whole trial than I do on the first 2 sections!! Well, I thought it was ok to move about till I had a go on my friends Gasser 249 I did notice the difference in weight thats for sure... but with regards to power.. its awesome.

At last, besides Albert Cabestany, I get to see another rider on a 4T. To be honest, theres no doubt Ryan is a talented rider but I thought the bike looked heavy and cumbersome Anyone else have some thoughts on it.

Well Marky G, You said it all.. saved me saying it Jools, was really expecting you to be up near the top of our lot.. shame the bike was running bad coz you done real well at the Forest trial Also, Kirsty played a big role in getting the results so quick.. from the last riders ticket being given to us and listing the full results.. around 40 seconds Gasserboy, I could see you were sick as a parrot and its a real shame you didnt ride the forest is your home .. ( btw, why did you ask if Gaz was married ) I only got to see 2 sections which were the waterfall, section 19 and the hill climb section 20 and both looked good.. I gotta get some practice in coz I want to be good enough to ride that next year.. really inspired me Also, the Novogar lads were a great bunch.. no moaning or nuffin.. (btw, changed my name from webmonkey coz of the abuse andy was giving me )

Well IMHO, the future of the sport lay in whether it can attract the youth in sufficient numbers.... That bike Video of Matt shows what these guys can do.. pulling a wheelie for the length of my back lane was the best feat I could achieve at that age.. I believe that if we make the sport something that they want to do, then it has a bright future If you try and think about the difference between the youth and the oldies, then I reckon its this. If you get through a section with a clean then your happy. A good youth likes to get through on a clean........ but with style its more rewarding. Thats the difference I think.
