Riding with no knee/shin protection means its just a matter of time til you you get a wound like that one
I have at least 3 different sets of pads that all work, just look for something that is a little thinner in the shin area at the boot
Also, scope out the foam knee pads that are in the street and or dual purpose riding pants, maybe there is a solution for you there
-
I think the big difference between a new rider and a new to trials rider is throttle control
Riding a variety of dirt and street teaches you that
Also the Domino throttle on most bikes you can fit a slow throttle tube, never a bad idea
Power is not a problem, these bikes have the most tractable engines ever made, they are not crazy powerful for their CC
-
Ahhh, I always try to take out human error as a factor, people do stupid stuff, maybe they used grease or chain lube or whatever to seat the bead
Often the best way to diagnose is to decide what is NOT the problem and start at the simplest most obvious thing (Occams Razor)
#1 Installation issues
#2 Rim problems, bent rim, aftermarket parts etc
Still have problems it must be the tire, it's hard to tell visually if the tire bead has a problem
Does the tire come off the same side every time?
A good scrubbing and pressure wash of both the tire and the rim (along with a visual inspection) should eliminate 66.6% of the potential

Fortunately a dealer with a business license is in a different situation from a guy on the street
If I were you I would go to the cop shop and tell them you think you have a stolen bike, at that point they have no choice but to deal with you
If its stolen the dealer is responsible and you can get it dealt with easily, if you have your paperwork then you don't have much to worry about
-
That is pretty odd, usually you need to work pretty hard to get a tire off the bead
If it was loose on the bead the tire would probably spin on the rim, try marking the tire at the valve stem
When you put it on what did you use for lube?
Some sealants become lubricants at high pressure, it puts a barrier between the rubber and the rim
I would remove, clean thoroughly with wire brush and pressure washer and reinstall with tire soap
-
It looks like most bikes are the same weight and size, put a slow throttle on and use a piece of fuel hose between the carb slide and carb cap to limit power
Maybe that opens up more possibilities
-
Hit your local dollar store and get some aluminum drink containers or if you want, a chainsaw shop will have aluminum fuel containers
-
I have never had my foot slide off my pegs because they were slippery
it's at least 50% bling factor and 50% improvement, but not 100% better
I always have scabs on my calves from my pegs, it's worse with my S3's LOL, I'm kinda scared of them
Perhaps many years of snowmobiling has given me a different perspective on slippery
Having said that, you will likely not regret buying them, especially if you ride in wet conditions where sippy slidy mud is an issue
-
I have been wondering the same thing and I would like to know why the tire is directional when the tread is identical
Some tires have a wrinkle wall that lets to tire flex or sort of collapse when driven in the correct direction adding traction
Drag race cars are a good example, my Tryall trials bicycle tires are another, it's very obvious when the tire pressure is low
I don't know if Michelin does this as well ?? Any tire experts on here?

Why don't you try fitting the removable liner from your shoei or any and every other helmet, I bet the lining is close enough that you can find one that works
-
If the helmet is less than 4 years old then maybe, but if it's old then you cannot see the parts of the helmet that have deteriorated
Perhaps the removable lining has just been lost and you can buy a replacement
What kind of helmet is it?

Hi, you can't really have a maintenance interval on an air filter dueto wet or dry conditions etc and for the most part air filter oils are pretty similar
Just make sure you use a genuine air filter oil and not a motor oil
To clean it you want to use high flash point solvent, not gas, the last thing you want is your air filter catching fire
Get yourself a spare filter, clean and oil it and keep it in a ziplock baggy
That way you have a filter waiting and you don't have to mess with cleaning one until you have time
-
How bad could it possibly be?
If it was terrible, all the customers would have stopped buying them and they would have made a 6 speed model
It can't suck
-
Now I'm kicking myself for not going, sounds like a great time, looks like there is a game changer in the senior class

Personally I ride with a Psychic, she reads my tea leaves and tells me how any dabs I will take
She's always wrong by the way but not to Shanghai a thread
She wears Mojo bands, says she is 100% more accurate with her readings
When she tells me I am going to 0 a section, and I get a 5, she says "I knew that was going to happen" so I guess she's right
-
Oh boy, Talon sprockets are breaking mudguards
I'm not buying one of them LOL
-
I agree with making it fun and enjoyable
Give people a reason to come early and stay late, camp or socialize
Riding is only part of it, meeting up with like minded people is a big part as well
-
Wow, that is amazing, thanks for posting

I always think of the time and effort put into creating a repair for something that is shot
Even while it's working Its always in the back of my mind that it's going to fail
In my opinion it's a matter of time till a patch fails, trials tires just flex too much, so you are buying a tire now or later
-
The answer to the court question is, the person with the most money will go to court, this is the insured parties who organize the event
Now add this one
The organizer says NO MINDERS
You allow a minder
The Minder gets injured
Now in court the organizers point their finger at you, you have no defense as you are the one who broke the rules
It's easy, you either make the rules or you follow them, don't waffle
-
I recently installed one but I did it because it made me cooler, not the bike
I totally fell in love with the shiny anodized billet rotor
-
I dunno man, in my opinion you are spoiling a great trials bike to make a bad trail bike
It won't fit with other trials riders and it won't really fit well with your dirt bike buddies
I have never had much success adapting a motorcycle to suit a different task, in the end I have always ended up buying the bike that works
-
Had a pair of Novagar boots for over a year now
Break in took a bit and I bought a good pair workbook insoles and I like them just fine
Price is right on them for sure
-
I have a hunch you will end up riding the bike the way it was designed for at some point, hook up with a couple of trials guys and you will get addicted
if you were to try and ride a MX bike in a trials situation it would not work out, like Pindie mentioned a trials bike is incredible on single track, especially tight stuff but in open terrain and fire roads they are just not well suited
