  1. Too early to decide methinks but I can see the problem with re-adjusting back to a 2-st once you get into the 4-st 'groove'. With a 4-st you do have to throttle 'earlier' and 'longer' when it comes to getting over an obstacle (something that will get you into trouble with a modern 2-st). I had some time on a 4-st then when I went back to my own 2-stroker, I nearly came a cropper when I applied the 4-st technique to my 2-st !! I would have thought a 4 banger would be much better as a trailer than a 2 smoke? Here's a question;- With that extra engine braking ,do 4strokers ever need to replace their brake pads?
  2. Christ, that one with the rocks was brutal !
  3. Another attempt..same hill:-
  4. When I look at those monster-bike hillclimbers that you see on the telly, .....the kind with customized ££$$ zillion HP bike engines with stretched swing-arms and paddle-steamer rear tyres....I think;- I'm sure I know a few good trials riders that could do that on a standard trials bike ? Well? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tn29oPY_hHI
  5. As the video went on it seemed like he was a bit of a smart a*** but you just can't knock his ethos
  6. I voted for him...I see him as a British Burlusconi....party time

    Viton oil seals?

I used to work in hydraulics (long time ago)and I've used them on trials bikes, they are spot on...If you have any freebies I could be your best internet friend ever
  8. Hi Little-Yoshi, I can only presume that the reason for the lack of replies here is because that bike looks like it's had a hard life and no-one fancies getting involved? ...but... (it's been a slow day at the office):- Do the usual basic inspections for excess play in the headstock bearings (up againgst a wall)/rear swing-arm linkage bearings (put it on a beer crate)/wheel bearings ( lateral play at the wheel rim) etc.. Suspension check for smooth operation ( don't expect too much it's a Sherco ) just lack of clonks/seepage/weepage etc.. Check the motor starts easily enough from cold/hot. Listen for 'swishy' main bearings after you've shut the throttle. If it's really bad you'll hear a big difference when you cant the bike over with the engine running. Check for a steady idle with the choke off (worst case scenario---dodgy stator). Check for overheating (exhaust and radiator)...and a positive progressive clutch action. There's probably more but I can't think of them at the mo'. EDIT reason= I realise that t-shock 250 posted while I was composing Wayne
  9. Ahh reet, I've got a roll of the stuff...it's very heavy
  10. Why? Did the hut have a leak? ....I'm so funny I make myself laugh. Sorry, I couldn't resist it...how did you use the felt in the snow for traction?
  11. DARREN, THIS IS A ( THREAD)HIJACK, NO-BODY MOVE: Ross, you edited that video and missed out the bit at the end where the fella called for the bull terrier !! Actually I was watching that and I thought 'what a waste'...the opportunity, not the food.
  12. I hear ya..Yup,he did....and he also mentions; 'not to tie it around the brake lines'?? Loik oi said, not for highway use, it 'aint legal.. for many reasons. Hey Ross? Isn't 'it aint legal' the name of your specialist gentlemens magazine?
  13. I'm sorry to hear your story Peter, let's hope that it turns up. A rude awakening as to how light a modern trials bike is (74/5 kg?), which is quite easy for two men to lift.
  14. Here's an old trick that I've used before (not for highway use)....
  15. Me thinks yous are way too familiar with certain terminology?
  16. Just for you Copey, I don't normally go within a hundred miles of 'Kuntry and Western so this is as close as I get...
  17. Agreed, The best investment you can make(IMHO)at the moment is to spend your money on petrol and pre-mix i.e. peg-time. Enjoy.
