  1. If the doogoodies get their way we will be riding bikes that are made of recycled bog rolls and tin cans, powered by harvested cow farts and pig poo and tyres that are made of foam so they dont hurt the grass!!!
  2. Would be nice to see marc vinco or similar doing a cycle trials display like sheffield he did in sheffield. Amazing!! Or a trick riding trials display team

hey monte your bike must be really light!!!!!!!!
  5. I think I know why Kenny has retired from international trials. I think he has gone a bit doolally!!!!!!!!!! Just got this off kuroyama website..
  6. Shercool, It was my mate daggs888 that was bidding on that sherco 250. He won the auction and tried to organise to get the bike the following week and the guy selling it started getting arsey about it saying he wanted the cash immediately but he would not take paypal like he advertised, then he wanted his credit card????(sounded like a scam to me- how can a private individual take a credit card?).Then he decided that he wanted more money for the bike so daggsy told him where to go.....greedy boy!!
  7. I ride a raga rep gasgas pro, and my mate has an 05 montesa and to be honest, which was a big suprise to me I can get off the gasser and get straight on the monty and feel very comfortable on it right from the off.I have ridden most bikes apart from the scorpa and the monty is the only other bike I feel comfortable riding. On paper the 4rt is the heaviest of the trials bikes but amazingly it does not feel like that at all, especiaaly at clubman level unless you weigh less than 8 stone and you have muscles like knots in a flies pecker!! The suspension in my opinion feels very soft and spring compared to other bikes but it definately works for the 4rt, you just have to get used to it as it seems everything you do happens that little bit slower on the monty. Great piece of kit but I'm not converted yet daggsy!!!! Only downside is the parts for servicing seem to be generally a lot more than 2 stroke, but I suppose I'd rather pay a little bit more on plugs and oil than be faced with a self destructed 4 banger lump......nasty thought especially when you look at that mother of a honda bible...I mean doorstop....I mean yellow pages.... I mean manual.
  8. Hi chaps, Just been on the powercraft website and saw this. Anyone know what it is and what its used for??? Looks like som kind of weird trining device. trapper

    Txt280 Fork Seals

Instead of using a bag to prevent seal damage I put the new seals into place then put the old ones on top so when you drive them in you are hitting the old seal rather than the new one. Also if it is a really tight fit you can heat up the seal in boiling water to soften it slightly first which makes them easier to put in(just remember to dry them well as water and oil do not play well together!).
  10. I use exactly the same!

What a crock!!. The gasgas has not even got a weld seam at that point of the frame and if you look closely at the frame all four of the tubes have a perfectly straight cut across them which looks like it has been done with an angle grinder. NO bike frame would snap with such precision like this as long as I have a hole in my a***!!
  12. If you are going to run a lean mixture make sure you use a good quality oil.
  13. Hi beta_basher Here is everything you will ever need to know about shercos!! More information than you can shake a stick at, toilet reading for at least a month!! sherco info
  14. This is supposed to be quite a common problem on the shercos. If the main bearings seize they will spin in the casings which makes the reccesses in the casings eccentric. This ends up with having to replace the casings worst scenario which is expensive. The best idea when buying a bike is to be cheeky and ask to remove the flywheel cover(its only a few bolts), get hold of the flywheel weight and rock it up and down and push it in and out. There should be virtually no excess play in the bearings and if there is I would re-negotiate the price or steer clear as there is always a better bike around the corner. Just dont forget to take a spare flywheel cover o-ring with you incase you damage the it when you remove the cover.
  15. I agree, It looks like the fork protectors only go about a quarter way round the leg and I cant see how any of it would fasten on apart from the dreaded cable tie.....Looks pants
  16. Use the window as the guide. 350cc is for the PRO models only i believe. Thats what my 2002 takes. If it only took 500ml then you must have had 50ml still in the case in the nooks and crannies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If it is an 05 bike it is a pro. I would go with the 350cc.

    Revving Problems

Would be worth checking the routing and condition of the throttle cable. My mate had a 2001 290 that did this and it was a right pain in the a*** until we found the problem. while the bike is at idle turn the bars to full lock both ways and see if the bike throttles up,if it does it may need adjusting or re-routing. If not then remove the cable from the throttle assy and the top of the carb and push the inner cable back and forth. It should move very freely and if it doesnt you may have a kink in the cable or the outer sheath has been crushed against a rock or something which is nipping the inner cable.
  18. There is debate on how much oil to use if you read past threads, but my interpretation is that 550ml is too much and most use 350ml. I have done this on my 05 and my 03 and have not had any problems. I use dexron III to help prevent clutch drag and remember just change the oil on regular basis. hope this helps.
  19. I used to race radio controlled cars and used to paint the very flexible plastic bodyshells with spraypaint and they used to get a good hammering and the paint never fell off. You shoukd be able to use Lexan pain with good results but as always it is all in the preparation.

    Build Quality

Exactly that, GasGas are the only manufacturer that are constantly pushing the envelope of the performance and design of their trials bikes, not because they have too, but because they can. Over the last few years with the constant development of the pro gasgas are leading the field in way trials bikes are designed and the materials that are used in their manufacture. All we hear are people moaning that gasgas bikes are crap, unreliable, poor quality, yada yada yada and personally I am sick of hearing it so here is something for them to think about which I am sure will put nettles in their underpants!. If you wanted to buy a high performance car at the cutting edge of technology would you buy a ferrari or a volvo?? You would buy a ferrari...why, because you would be buying one of the most advanced, most beautiful mechanical acheivements on the planet. Of course the downside of owning that great handling, great looking, lightweight, high performance, but high maintenance car is that it is not going to be as reliable as a 'normal' car. You already know that but you would still buy it wouldn't you, because if you wanted it to be reliable that only needed servicing after you have driven to the moon and back and built of two tons of pig iron so it is a sturdy as the forth bridge you would buy the volvo!! By no means am I comparing a gasgas to a ferrari but my point is that if you want to buy a bike that the manufacturer has put reliability higher on their wish list than performance don't buy a gasgas. Don't just whine about them just because you do not like the fact that they do things different than everyone else, and when someone comes up with a bike that will outperform the gasgas pro I will streak through section 2 at hawkstone park!!!

Whoops! You spoke too soon, just saw this on the indoortrial.com website. Bob <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Holy ****. I would not beleive if I had not seen it. It must have been some drop off that caused that or raga ate too many pies before the trial!!! Do es it say on the site how it was done or whos bike it is?

    Zard Exhausts

Anyone got any info on the zard exhaust for the gasgas. I dont mean bull**** sales speil from the net, I mean real life stuff. How does it compare to the stock exhaust?, whats the build quality like?, how do they sound?, can you get them in ol' blighty. Can you install it on a raga rep as the raga exhaust is about 5 cm longer than stock for back pressure I assume.
