  1. Does anyone know if the replica shirts and trousers that dougie wears are available to buy with the sponsor logos on etc. They look much better than the standard ones you can get!
  2. Please add another 3 adults to that list....cheers
  3. Andy , there will be myself, daggs888 and another 2 and 3 halfs! Are you sending the wristbands out in the post aving them signed for at the bouncers hut? Looking forward to it cheers
  4. Make sure you dont keep constant revs on the bike when riding on roads/trails as this will lean the mix and possibly seize the piston. From what you described it doesnt sound like a fuel starvation problem as you would hear the bike rev higher as the fuel/ air mix leans out until it died. All the fluid levels sound ok so I would suspect your jetting is not quite right or you nipped the piston and thats why you had to leave it for a few minutes to cool down.
  5. doesnt look any different than the 05 raga. what is the difference apart from the swingarm sticker and the anodized sprocket and triple clamps??
  6. As brian r says....try the dealers, for a test ride at least!!!. All the modern bikes are good, but not necessarily for you! go to a dealer and ride them all and you WILL end up with a shortlist of 1 or 2 bikes that you feel comfortable on and that suit YOU and your stle of riding. Remember if you can that the bar position does make a big difference to the feel of the bike when riding it so if the dealer will let you, change it round a bit and try it again. Then go out and find one within your budget that is in good condition. GOOD LUCK
  7. Get one of the mitani levers from <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> trials. they have all 3 positions on there so will work with anything!!
  8. You have obviously had the forks off the bike to change the oil. Check to make sure when you put them back on they are not clamped to far up the yoke. According to jim snell in the U.S. gasgas set them up in the factory because every bike is slightly different. With the forks fully extended(no weight on front wheel) there should be approx 7" between the dust seal and the lower triple clamp to stop it bottoming out.
  9. I think you would be better off sanding them down using wet and dry, using finer paper as you go on until the scratches have gone then clean with alchohol and re laquer them....good as new
  10. I couldnt find a bit of pvc pipe with the correct diameter so I used a plastics plughole from B&Q. break of the grill where the water drains away and you have a tube with a lip on it that fits perfect. use an old seal on top of the new one to drive it in so you dont damage the new one and put new one in boiling water for a minute to soften the rubber so it goes in easier(remember to dry it well first as you know water dont mix with oil)
  11. Mate had an 01 290 and always used ipone box2 without any problems.
  12. The cost is one of my concerns too ( nearly
  13. All the documents say that honda recommends elf htx 740 for the clutch for the 4rt. If you look on this site it says that the htx 740 oil is for a dry clutch, but the 4rt has a wet clutch. Anyone know why they recommend this oil. elf oil htx 740

    4rt Wiring

Does anyone know exactly how the 4rt wiring loom works in regards to powering the lights. I know that when the wiring loom is installed it restricts the power output of the bike because of the fuel injection etc, but is it a simple case of the wiring loom and ancillaries needing to much power or is it more complicated like the loom changing the ecu program when plugged in. Thanks rich

    Raptor 4rt Stuff

I am getting a 4rt soon and quite fancy using these pegs and hangers, but im worried that if I whack them on a rock I will bend the frame rather than the peg! Has anyone had any experience of this.
  16. The repsol rep comes with a carbon fibre headlight so surely the brake light should work as well if you wired it in.Dougie and fujis bikes both have programmable ecus and these headlights and I assume they work or why would they have the excess weight on the bike!?
  17. Hi ghutton, Go to lewisport usa. They are in copperopolis,CA. Here is the link to the website and they will have what you want along with lots of other nice bits. lewisportusa

    Raptor 4rt Stuff

I rode a gasgas at the weekend that had the raptor pegs fitted. Very nice compared to the standard hebo pegs as they feel big and solid under your feet, but Im sure that if you whacked a raptor peg off a rock I think the frame will give before the peg. If I had to choose who would win a fight betwen a titanium peg and an alloy frame I'd pick the peg everytime!! If the hangers are designed to be the weakpoint to protect frame and peg they will be a great buy. 10/10. I was very impressed with them, made me feel very surefooted
  19. Yip, that was me on the red raga. I am not sure what time but I think we are going up friday if youre up for it depending on the weather, then cancel out all the exercise with some beer . Pm me and Ill get your number!!
  20. Yes Lew, you have to take it out completely to get to the clutch. What I would add is that if your bike is newer pro(04/05/06) the 10 screws in the clutch pack are different than the old type which you need a special tool from gasgas (its a torx socket rather than an allen key). I would remove the centre recesed screw from the clutch basket and take out the basket and plates in one piece just incase you drop any parts into the transmission as they have a nasty tendancy to dissapear!!. You can then strip the clutch on a work bench which is a lot easier. Dont worry about taking it apart as you will find is quite easy and self explanitory once you get the clutch cover off...and remember about the clutch cover screws as they are different sizes and they HAVE to go back in the correct way.I will try and get a diagram for you to make it clearer.
  21. You measure the clutch pack like how I described in an earlier response then work out how much you need to reduce the clutch by and replace one or a combination of clutch plates to get the correct clutch pack thickness. You can buy the plates in different widths from your local shop or shirty direct and off hand I think they come in 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4mm thicknesses. note that all gasgas pro clutches are assembled by hand so when you buy one from the shop complete they will come with different plates in them! Have a look on gasgasusa website tech section and you should find lots of links to help with various problems.
  22. Lewis Here is the lowdown on the gasgas pro clutch. 1. Check the thickness of the clutch pack as described on r2wtrials website. It should be 9.75mm +/- .10 (you need a micrometer to measure this)If you need to replace the fibres buy the 04 clutch plates. 2. Remove the clutch basket assy with clutch plates in one piece from the crankcase and lay it flat on a bench. Measure the gap between the spring fingers and the top center of the clutch basket with a vernier caliper or small ruler( it should be 17.1mm) Also check to make sure that the spring fingers are all at the same level as each other. If not replace the fingers. As the metal fatigues it flexes and it needs more movement to disengage the clutch plates. 3. While you have the clutch cover off disconnect the clutch cable. Remove the "top hat" clutch piston and check the o-ring underneath for damage.fill the top hat with dot 4 and holding it facing up place the clutch cover on top of it. Push the top hat into place while turning the assy into an upright position, this will force fluid back through the clutch cover until it comes out of the clutch cable fitting. This will effectively back bleed the bottom end of the clutch and remove all air bubbles (This is the only way I know of doing this effectively). Refit the clutch cable and reassemble the clutch assembly fastening the clutch cover in place. Check the seals in the plunger of the master cylinder and check the position of the adjustment screw so that the valve is open when the lever is released allowing new fluid to taken into the clutch cable. Back bleed the clutch from the top of the clutch cover to the master cylinder to remove air from the top end of the system. 4. Fill the transmission with dexron III ATF fluid to minimise clutch drag. If you follow all these steps I guarantee you will have a clutch which is light as a feather!! Hope this helps Rich
