  1. I work for Kodak and work on these in between driving on the M25!! Kodak GCG
  2. I know it may be obvious but you havent bashed the ignition coil of a rock or suumit when you dropped the bike have you?? (mounted the the left frame near rad) or maye dislodged an electrical cable! Let us know when you find it!!
  3. Sorry, Iv'e just bought them..... Thanks FF
  4. What the hell were they thinking when they decided to do that. It would be ok if the bolts weren't made of toffee. Thanks for the advice anyway chaps. Looks like I am going to be upsetting the neighbours with plenty of hammering tonight. Thanks FF, I thought I,d seen them somewhere, nice to see you are supplying some descent replacements for what has turned out to be a big sh*t eating fly in a very nice bowl of soup!!
  5. I need to change the pads on the front of my 4rt an the 2 bolts holding the caliper in place will not come out ....seized, and the allen heads are now pretty stripped. I have read that this is a common problem and I am sure I have seen some replacement bolts made of titanium or something. Can anyone help??
  6. I went from raga 300 to 4rt and haven't looked back. I loved the gasser but wanted to try something different. Gasser felt very light, snappy and nimble but wanted to pull your arm out of the sockets when you got it wrong or you got tired, the servicing was a chore and took a lot more work to keep on top of in general. The rear mudguard is a tw$t of a design that snaps to s@*t even if you look at it the wrong way. The 4rt feels slightly bulkier and very slightly heavier but this is far outweighed by the smoothness of the engine power, plushness of the suspension, the grip and the very planted and stable feel you get when riding it. Servicing the bike is a joy to do and everything comes apart like a well oiled jigsaw, although the consumables like filters and oil are more expensive. Its great not to have to fart about with the carb all the time and mixing fuel (did I mix it...did I not...oh B*****ks, start again!) The 4rt does not have the instant power of the 2t but most of us dont need it anyway!! or so i've been told... The only thing that does get on my ti*s is people saying things like 'ah here comes another one of those blokes that likes the sound of his own engine'.........and before you ask I do have the restrictors in, but I think that is part of the appeal of the 4t bikes...They all sound awesome.
  7. Damn it, no new boots for me yet then!!!
  8. I have just seen these on the alpine stars website and wondered if anyone knew if they are new model trials boots?? They are categorised as just off-road but so are the no-stop boots. They do not have the metal toe protector so I am guessing that they are trials but I could be wrong. Very cool looking though!!!

    04 315 Advice?

I am not sure how common it is but I have heard that you sometimes get problems with clutch drag. I am sure that I read something about using different clutch plates or something to fix it. Can someone shed some light??
  10. I too have found this. Due to a hand injury I need to have the clutch lever as light as possible and I have used these larger master cylinders on both my 03 and o5 gasgas pro's and now on my 4rt and it definately helps.
  11. Can't imagine you get many cleans with that clutch!!! The larger master cylinder does make a difference. It makes the clutch have a slightly smoother action and makes it slightly lighter to use. I am not sure how this works because the actual cylinder assembley is the same so I think it is the pivot points on the levers that are slightly different to give that effect.
  12. The shape of it too would channel all the excess oil all the way to the rear of the sump plate when you dump the oils which would get a bit messy. the standard one has lots of holes in the bottom to let the spills fall through easily.

    Techno Fan!

here is a wiring diagram here for the techno. All you have to do is register to the site which is free!! bcdirtbikes
  14. I fitted the larger clutch master cylinder to my last gasgas pro( its now on my 4rt) to lighten the clutch because of an old hand injury. It makes the clutch feel lighter and makes the action slighlty more progressive so you dont get the on/off switch effect. they cost around
  15. Try taking the wires from the thermostat and join them together.Start the bike and if the fan starts your thermostat is nackered( quite common on gasgas) if not connect fan to a 12v battery to test it. Hope this helps
  16. Wind the screw out on the master cylinder to its original position so the valve is open and remove the cover from the master cylinder. Buy some mineral oil from gasgas uk or your local dealer along with a large syringe and some tubing. Fill the syringe with oil and put the tubing onto the bleed nipple on top of the clutch casing. loosen the nipple slightly to allow fluid move ment then squeeze the oil backwards up the clutch line under pressure while holding the tube onto the nipple. Be carefull as the oil will squirt out of the master cylinder with quite a lot of force so keep your eyes out of the way. reduce the pressure slightly and keep squirting until the master cylinder resovoir is about 3/4 full(covers the perspex window) then while still applying pressure to the syringe tighten the bleed nipple to ensure no air gets in.replace the cover on the master cylinder and adjust the clutch to suit and voila, its done....
  17. My raga has the lights already taken off, how can i tell if the fan is still wired correctly? i havent used it for more than a few minutes at a time ...yet... so fan maybe hasnt had a chance to come on yet??? cheers S.M. Remove the connectors off the thermostat and join them together using a bit of wire or a paperclip. If the fan is wired properly it should come on as soon as you start the bike....simple!!
  18. I found the DID chains are good too.
  19. As far as I know the only difference is the clutch is smoother and the plastics have stickers instead of being painted. If you can get a cheap o5 I would go for it and if the clutch is to snappy for you spend
  20. The CDI unit (black box) should have a thin yellow wire coming out of it. Connect this to one end of the kill switch and the other end of the switch to ground.
  21. If you move the forks up the clamps make sure that when the forks are fully compressed the lower stantions do not hit the underside of the lower triple clamp.Torque wise, I have always tightened the bolts hand tight with an allen key then another eighth of a turn to torque up.
  22. Hi grantmac Try PJ1 in the gearbox. worked great in my 97 techno, and I had the same problems a you. bled the clutch also and worked perfect after that and gear changes were very slick. You might also need to adjust the screw on the master cylinder to adjust the clutch bite. For the throttle check to see if you have a fast or slow throttle.. black is slow, white is fast.Get a slow one as its much easier to control the bike and isnt so aggressive.
  23. Hi flash I have seen that on xc-ting website, but I want a a two piece. I am not in anyway inclined to wear a lycra bodystocking!!
