  1. Is the breather tube still properly connected and routed as the clear tube in this picture, that's connected to the gearbox in front of the sprocket? http://tuffcitypowersports.com/assets/uploads/images/Other/gg_txt_racing_2015_0061.jpg
  2. Here is a picture of the complete CSP skid plate: http://www.costaspecialparts.it/gallery/galleria_prodottiTR/index.html
  3. Luckily it fell in the good hands of Gilles Escuyer and his father than.
  4. I seem to remember that a rider broke his neck in an event at Bilstain in 2004 or around that time. Can't say for sure if he died.
  5. In 2000 they were testing the limits of how far, or how high in this case, riders would go without safety nets, it seems:
  6. That's some crazy stuff. Thanks to james from Retrotrials.com
  7. Thanks for the clarification.
  8. I also like the Gaerne oiled boots (these are apparently made of a better quality leather), very comfortable and very good to walk in, they also offer very good "contact" with the bike. The downside: your feet soles might get irritated by the pegs due to the souple sole when you're on the pegs for a very long time, and there's no protection for your toes and ankles. The previous model of Alpinestars ( I don't mean the new ones, wich have a stitched sole like the Gaernes) offer better protection for toes and ankles, are larger and feel stiffer, especially the sole, wich make you feel a tad less in touch with your bike. (I think that's why Tony Bou had stitched soles on his Alpinestars even before Alpinestars switched from the glued to the stitched soles. But that's pure speculation on my side) For the rest they're on par with the Gearnes. By the way, there were some quality issues reported with the new Alpinestars: the paint could chip when cleaning the boots.

    Race Gas

Yep. I use the Aspen 4 (95) fuel regularly, and my 4RT runs fine with it. (It's also very useful in generators and other machines that aren't used regularly, as it won't deteriorate over time)
  12. "PS I have no idea what tap fits the UK alloy tanks, but I assume they are UK only? " The aluminium tank I bought in the UK has a M12 thread for the tap. Weren't aluminium tanks mandatory at the time in the UK (only), to replace the polyester tanks that were prone to crack? Before the nylon tanks came out.
  13. Fortunately the parts come cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132138033194?ul_ref=http%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F0%2Fe11021.m43.l1120%2F7%3Feuid%3D91b1ae4542894b54beca88c15719c65b%26bu%3D43998103820%26loc%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%252Fulk%252Fitm%252F132138033194%26sojTags%3Dbu%3Dbu%26srcrot%3De11021.m43.l1120%26rvr_id%3D0&ul_noapp=true
  14. I use Castrol Power RS 5W40, which works great in my 350 Sherpa with a modern type clutch (from InMotion). No drag, smooth action and no slippage in higher gears. When I've run out of that oil, I'll be testing Castrol Power-1 10W30. I would go for the 10W... instead of the 15W... because it's viscosity in colder temperatures, is closer to the 5W... oil
  15. "Just so you understand this, you are more likely to get hurt from the lanyard coming off at the wrong moment than it coming off at the right moment" Don't take this the wrong way, but your anecdotal evidence is just that, anecdotal. I'd rather see some decent research before making such statements. "A helmet has saved me once".... "I`ve had more injuries than most through the years and safety devices or lack of is not the problem" You're contradicting yourself
