  1. For the person that can't be bothered...
  2. If you've ever ridden an older Twin Shock bike, clutches on modern bikes are no problem at all.
  3. After twice grazing the skin of my knuckles, I now wear Fox MX gloves with rubber padding on the fingers. And the Jitsie knee pads, that go into the boot, are a polpular item in our club ( with the older wiser men :-) after some bad experiences. At national events in Belgium wearing a back protector is mandatory. A chest protector is advised. Most kids and younger top riders, have been wearing them as long as I know. Gloves on the other hand (hahaha), are not mandatory.
  4. Like Johnny said. But when the bash plate is all out of whack, and you (or someone more capable) can't get in shape enough so the bolts go in fairly easy, don't try to force the bolts in, you don't want to damage the threads in the frame. Better get a new bash plate in that case.
  5. Got it. Thanks! http://montesatrials.com.au/store/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/PK-COTA-300RR_ENG_2017.pdf Now I can also see the difference between the pistons. My 2016 300RR seems to smoke a little bit after I start it, but this goes away once he's warmed up a bit.
  6. A man checks in at a hotel in Paris. The receptionist asks his nationality to which he replies " German "She then says, "Occupation" ?He replies, "No, just a short holiday this time".
  7. You lost an "a" in your link: http://montesatrials.com.au/store/wo-content/uploads But even then I get: "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." Could you be more precise, would love to see those graps.
  8. Reset only requires 1 slow kick on the starter with the throttle wide open. Never had any problems with water on any of my 4RT's
  9. This might be a rare bike, but £ 17,000 !? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/132115175837
  10. Parts lists can be found here http://montesa4rt.nl/
  11. Previous years one could choose between 1 lap of 18 sections per day or do the sections twice in a day. For me, riding in the Randonneur class, and most members of our club, 1 lap was enough, although I finished rather early each day, at around 3 pm. This year it's 18 sections per day for every one, which suits me fine, but I can't speak for more advanced riders with better stamina than me.
  12. Inscriptions are open for the 37th edition of this nice event, that takes place between 13 and 16 july. It's a popular event with some of our club members and other Belgians. http://enduro.pagesperso-orange.fr/trial/
  13. I haven't noticed much difference between my 2016 300RR and the 2015 260 Repsol and 2008 4RT I owned before. I do however have less ( non actually) arm pump when I replace the original handlebar grips with the Domino dual compound grips.
  14. no no, not at all. If that's the problem, I would suggest you get a set of those "lift suspension plates". http://www.handdracing.co.uk/userimages/procart2.htm I haven't mounted them on my 300RR yet, but they made a very noticeable difference on my 2008 4RT; much easier to clear larger steps thanks to the extra lift (or spring or bounce) they create when "double blipping". They also make the stearing head angle a bit sharper which helps in tight turns. It might also be a good idea to have the nitrogen pressure in the rear shock checked. Although I must say that the pressure in my 2008 4RT shock was still ok in 2013.
  15. The ground clearance of my 2016 300RR is 300mm (without a rider, but with a +10% rear spring), so I think there's nothing wrong with your 295mm.
  16. Psst! You can still buy such bikes, they're called enduro's or Freeride or 4Ride now.
  17. How much two stroke engines are currently used in road going vehicles?
  18. If a side valve engine would be any good, it would still be used in car, truck or motorcycle engines. Since it's not, it's safe to say it has some serious flaws.

  20. Here's one based on a GasGas. Extra batteries can be added to increase the action radius.
  21. Because Eddy Lejeune was on TV when I was about 16 years old and I wanted to do the same tricks on my moped.
  22. A combustion chamber like that is far from ideal in every way, apart from the fact that it saves build height, so it fitted in their frame without much alteration I'd guess.
  23. In the link you can find the manual for the 2016 300RR which can be used for the oil quantities. In my experience the engine oil quantity, with oil filter change, is 0.54L in stead of 0.44L http://montesa4rt.nl/
