The Hawkstone Programme backed ,literally, with issue 8 of Trialsworld magazine, made me realise what a great trials publication this country and sport is missing. I wonder or should I say hope that, somehow, the magazine can be resurected. Great format and well written articles.
Anyone who wasn't at Hawkstone or didn't get a copy or missing out on interviews with Doug, Jim, Raga, Bou, Laia, Dibs. Wiggy and details on all the factory spec bikes to name but a few of the features.
I also think Andy is pictured on the cover.
-
Yeah, cheers Andy. It was a laugh and good to see Jim Lampkin and Dibs there.
-
I ride Richmond trials so there's no shortage of young ladies showing me how to ride a trials bike. I just can't see a shocking pink bike appealing to them. But what do I know.

He's had a go at a few UK World Rounds and has certainly never disgraced himself.
-
It was obviously very disapointing that Dougie didn't achieve his 100 WTC round win in front of a home crowd and thus make it 3 British riders topping all the podiums. But it was great to see Fujigas take a momentous win. The pressure of needing to clean the very last section certainly showed at the end, especially for a nation not readily associated with displays of emotion. He is certainly keeping the pressure on Raga, lets hope Doug can also contribute to that pressure.
Well done to Browny and Wiggy and Dibs looked to be having a cracking ride on lap 1, shame it went a bit Pete Tong on lap 2.
As for Doug's 100 WTC.
Andorra.

For a more economical affect. Spray your 4RT with Lynx.
As regards Mr Montesa looking over the <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> bike. I trust you mean the RTL and not the Sherco?
-
If it was a bottle of beer he would have caught it in his mouth.

They will not be a bigger crowd at any other WTC this year. Hawkstone is going to be massive.
I've been to a couple of other World Rounds and my comments are as follows:-
Spain. Sections about 15km from the paddock and not a single stall selling trials merchandise. Don't get me wrong the sections were good and there was a bar and BBQ amongst the first group. Nigran was a pleasant little resort with some good restaurants and a few bars.
Poland. The amount of merchandise on sale was limited. Sections were a few km from the paddock, although the road was closed we gained access with our ' international disco pass'. Bars and food available. Really liked Poland, people were friendly and you couldn't spend your money.
At Hawkstone you'll get the trade village (any decent deals on boots out there?) and an atmosphere second to none. Dougie win and a couple of nights of TC partying and it will be a weekend to remember, if you remember it.
I have no doubts that L & M (and TC) will put on a weekend of first class entertainment.
Only things is I wish I'd drove down tonight.

With 8000 Brits cheering on Doug this Sunday, as well as all the other British riders, fingers crossed the weekend can be made all that special by his 100th World Round Win.
Its going to be one hell of an atmosphere.
Have any of the riders arrived yet? Or has anyone spotted any of them on route.
-
As far as I am aware there the 05 plates in the Repsol. However if your not happy get some Mitani ones from <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central>.
When are you expecting delivery?
-
I'll let you in on a secret. Last year on the Saturday I drank Shandy because the year before I got bladdered and really suffered on the Sunday.

Covered wagon medicine show
Take you to the place where the healing flows
Weak in spirit we got the juice
Wont save your soul it`ll shine your shoes
Treated king to kangaroo
Santa Fe to Timbuktu
Don`t be fooled by imitation
This is the stuff that cured a nation
We took the tube and the high plains too
Never stopped long just passing through
A drop of the laughter of the maids of France
Makes a hopeless cripple dance
It was really vile weather
When we got to tarred and feathered
You could hear the six guns sound
As they chased us out of town
In India we`re all the rave
Discovered that its great as aftershave
Dropped in the sea just off Japan
Swapped 20 bottles for an aqua-walkman
Immunity from ridicule
Improves your brains if you`re a fool
And I read in the Middle East
They traded some for a hostage release
Now if you`re bald it`ll give you hair
If you got straight trousers it`ll give you flares
Feeling up you`ll get depressed
Out of style here`s a brand new dress
It was really vile weather
When we got to tarred and feathered
You could hear the six guns sound
As they chased us out of town
-
The stuff we sell is just the best
Passing all consumer test
Days of heaven nights of sin
Voodoo stick and sharks fin
When all around you seems like hell
Just one sip will make you well
Multipurpose in a jar
If you aint ill it`ll fix your car
In days of yore for all bad feelings
Washing socks and stripping ceilings
Nowadays its used medicinally
For all known human malady
It was really vile weather
When we got to tarred and feathered
You could hear the six guns sound
As they chased us out of town
Guaranteed don`t you know
Money back?
You`ll get a no!
It`s the one and only medicine show

Cod liver oil and / or glucosmaine sulphate may help.
doesn't help the joint pain but the hangover will take your mind off it.
-
You won't see him. He'll be mixing with the creme de la creme and you'll be outside looking through the fence cause you didn't request wristbands!
creme de la creme
Andy - what a snob!
Subira - don't worry i will still retain my common touch and willingness to converse with the peasant underclass. However, at a distance and through the aforementioned fence with security looking on.
-
It could be top secret and I may be sworn to secrecy.

Dern colonials can't produce a good likker..... You're talking to a Scotsman - we produce the best in the wordl
And all for the benefit of the Japanese.
Vodka Irn Bru is the chosen drink of the Scottish isn't it.
-
I'd go back to Poland, great weather, good beer, friendly people and you can't spend your money. From a spectators point of view I thought it was very good. Flys were a bloody nuisance though.
-
The only important part in the letter is "You are personally responsible for the conduct of your guests". I'd expect you to be hoofed off-site within 5 minutes of arriving
I'll just go at get my coat!
-
A few questions hopefully someone out there will answer.
Why have the colour of the rims reverted to Repsol orange when at the earlier rounds they were a deep gold?
On the handlebar mounted switch, used to alter the maps, how many settings and what colour LED matches each map. You can see the LED light on the videos of Doug and Fujigas.
Can you buy 2006 Repsol 4RT plastics anywhere?
-
Apart from that it was good though.......
You didn't mention the brat zipping around on his 125 Gas Gas when Raga and Fuji were trying to be interviewed. Nearly got a clip round lug hole.
