Hi Furse, I have never tried the Electrex but the wife purchased the PVL for Xmas 2009. I'm no mechanic but fitted it myself without any problems. Fitted to 500 Triumph twin and have not touched it since. I occasionally ride multi lap events where the engine gets hot but it always starts 1st kick. Hope that is helpful to you. Dave.
