  1. Well today I decided to try a new approach to training...... Previously I have been setting out sections waaaay too difficult for my skill level which ended up frustrating the kr@p out of me causing me to quit for the day after 30 minutes or so. Today I trained as above and stopped for a drinks break and thought about what I was doing and how frustrated I was.....I then immediately ripped up all the buntings that I laid out and decided to just play for a change. An hour and a half of continuous riding later, I (not the bike) overheated and called it a day. I finished playing feeling satisfied andproud of some of the things I had pulled off by just trying random exercises and obstacles. My problem is im VERY competitive and tend to take things too seriously. I think I should take a step back and just have fun and try new things with the bike and kind of let things just come together naturally for a while.
  2. I reccon you finish cutting the one that blew you up:) I doubt itll explode twice Phone those punks about your bike, id bug them untill it was in my guarage. Ps: in that one pic, I thought your fingers got blown off, now that would make riding trials awkward to say the least.
  3. Hey bud.....man thats bad luck. As zippy said: you are dam lucky. Hope you get fixed up soon. Let us all learn from this ballsup. You havent even got your bike yet and trials is already hurting you Hows your bike coming along, any news?
  4. [media] [media]Here is my attempt at hopping the front. I cant pull it off every time though.
  5. Here is the section I cant clean. Best ive managed is a genuine 3(3 not 4 like n the vid).
  6. Thanks guys, should be sorted.....still trying to figure this stuff out. Now that you guys can actually see how I progress........be nice, ive only been on a trials bike for 4 months . I know it might be boring to most of you but if you spot the many mistakes I make, please help teach and inform me as to stance, body position and all that other technical stuff.
  7. Have you called them, is your bike being worked on? When can you pick it up?
  8. Zippy, heres a blooper just for you . Excuse the language but I buggered my wrist up......I was a bit of a girl though Ps: check out my sexy denim shorts
  9. I know there is not much skill in this one but baby steps.
  10. Now please tell me this works......been trying to figure out how to do the vid thing. If it does work....this is one of the first attempts at my big tire, hence the kicker. Can do it without now.
  11. Hey Bruno. Youve been quiet today. Hope you working on your course or even better.....picked up your bike and doing it yourself . Seriously, if you have the time, pick it up and assemble yourself, itll teach you whats what and youll know the bike before you play. I would. Im excited for you , keep me updated.
  12. Rode with brent at my first trial. He cleaned the whole dam event.
  13. Had a quick bugger around now.....starting to get some decent hight with my bunny hops. What ive also been doing is every now and then im practicing hopping the front wheel. My theory is that it should be relatively easy to learn but give you a major advantage setting up for lines or obstacles even at clubman level where hopping is not required. Today it kinda came together.....doing a endo and swinging the back out to the right then following up with 2 or 3 front hops to the left, I can turn 90 degrees on the spot. I can only do it to the left for now and only get it right about 50% of the time.
  14. Morning. I did a few that felt really good and looking at my tracks in the sand, my distance is about a meter that both my wheels are off the ground. Im attempting to do the same thing but land on the back wheel. Almost like a rear wheel hop but on a weelie. I just cant get the hack to come up though.
  15. I agree. I find it alot easier riding my beta than I did my kawa. My guess is its weight. Moves need to be over exaggerated to get a heavy enduro bike to do what you want.
  16. Messed around with the basics again, doing lock turn zig zags along a very worn down road. The closest I have to pracrice camberd turns. I go as slow as I possibly can and pause when the front is in the dips and pause at the apex of the turn. Also gave bunny hopping a try. Low for now but managed one or two decent ones.
  17. Thats a nice score. 2 more sleeps till your bike is born.....
  18. Everything I hunt gets eaten. Those horns were cleaned up but is not considered a trophy but it is to me. Ive hunted with every weapon under the sun and am currently keen on hunting with a spear but am yet to be successful. Im a patient guy though
  19. Not sure if this is allowed, apologies if its not and understand if its removed. Hi guys. The damage to my pickup was not too bad this time. Last time was allot worse. Here is a kudu I hunted last year with a handgun. Im a member of the handgun hunters association of south africa. Details are: Ruger Redhawk 44mag, 7.5" barrel 255gr swc 21gr s265 1293 fps Distance: 45yards Animal went down in just under 100yards. Im learning trials, but I know hunting
  20. Dam you jaylael! I found this post just before I got into bed last night and had to read it start to finish and watch the vid inbetween. Ive been on a bunch of forums and am yet to find a thread as entertaining as this one. YOU ARE THE MAN. Growing up in a bikers garage had something to do with it but I just could not stop reading. My cell went flat by page 6 and I ended up sitting on the floor next to the charger to finish reading your stuff. Good on ya for following through with your brain wave. If half the people in this world were as dedicated to a idea like you are, the world would be a better place. Well done.
  21. Well said mickl. With the TB dvd its almost like they expect you to know what you are doing........and how you are doing it
  22. Working on your grip is what im doing. This one finger clutch story does take some getting used to. I have one of those gym spring gadgets to help strengthen my hands. Being married for 9 years, I thought my hand would be pretty strong by now
  23. My progress is on hold at the moment as im back at work and the bikes at home. No way at getting it here to my training spot. My pickup is in at the dent doctor after hitting a kudu. Should be back up and riding soon.
  24. Seems like both you and me are making the best of what we have to play with. You must be getting excited about your bike coming soon?
