  1. Damm Gas Gas again eh gasserboy
  2. I just Love Alloy Petrol tanks Beta boy..nothing wrong with the old one as to the paint change it was just a trick of the photo editing suite I've got it's still blue frame!!
  3. The Tyres are still OE (I've already got an IRC for the back to replace tha poxy Mich ) The bikes still quite std really...time to get it dirty and bent now i dare say . I've entered it in the Next ACU classic round (in Lancs I think) after the Hooper trail this weekend (which I'm riding me TY in that).
  4. Then I decided to spray it another colour!!
  5. mine's ready too ;-) Just waiting for the some decals to arrive to finish it off. The tank holds a tad more than the std one, the front pipe proved too pricey to get in stainless so I had it chromed......and the I've had some 'proper' bash plate extentions added on I took MR's advice and cut out the 4 steel rods that were in the silencer and it sounds much better for it!, I also cut down the rear guard and trimmed the sides of it up a bit to try and make the rear end look a bit better. As soon as the comp guard is available I'll get one of those........running it in using Castrol GTX before going over to fully synth oil..I'll get some better pics when it stops p***ing down here in 'sunny' shropshire
  6. Hi Stu, the guy in question lives local to me in Telford, his last name is Wilson. I picked the Scorpa up last Thursday evening, I've just got to do one or two more jobs and it's finished I'm well pleased with the work Nigel has done for me..a very class job indeed. I should be posting pics toward the end of this week
  7. I cannot remember if my mates were 240's or 280's, they must have been 240 cause they wus pretty gutless, my TYR use nail the poor old Armstrong every time. Gaff, I'll get in touch with the chappy round the corner and if he's still got it I'll take a pic of it (it's been a few years since I last seen it so god knows what it looks like now)
  8. A mate of mine had two of them from brand new! the second one was for his wife to use (which she never did) from what I can recall the bike was a bit of a lump....ok for it's time I guess but not as nimble as say a TYR Yam. The engine was very forgiving (see flat as a fart) very bullet proof in all aspects.......the second bike (the wifes) had some hubs turned out and disc brakes back and front fitted (std were drum brakes all round) being a bit of a clever chap (the owner) made the hubs so the sprocket and disc mountings were the same........when it came time to turn the old back tyre round, you just swapped the disc and sprocket around and bingo!...clever eh??. I'm sure this bike was sold to a bloke who lives round the corner from me and last I heard it was up for sale again!! (that was a few months ago) hope this helps mate
  9. On about Scorpa....I picked mine up last night & it looks a treat! I'll be riding it at Breidden on the 18th (i think) have a good un at the lomax mate Ahh Spency thought I could smell something
  10. Hey Gasserboy Yeah I guess I should top the Mkt Drayton entry Riding the A route so looks like the old TY will show the GG a thing or two, I've lost me entry list already is Hillbilly Hinton riding too? South Shropshire trial Saturday...up for it??
  11. Just turned 18 me just a touch younger than Bikespace
  12. Hi Milly, well done to John on the win. Them KT's are getting way too common dude , I counted three at the welsh (inc yours) How do you get on with spares?? I know my mate Dave struggles getting bits for his. I would have loved to have done the Victory too...maybe next year See you at the Hooper (25th I think)??? Mark
  13. Cheers for the info guys.......Steve your right, the front of my airbox does sit under the frame rails, I did wonder why but thinking on it's the shorter inlet tract thats the reason Steve, was it only Mick who shortened the inlet port or did other folk do the same type of work? (I'll post a pic or mine soon) What oil did you use on your TY? Cheers
  14. Cheers Sparky, I'll do just that
  15. Hi Mike, I've never ridden 'up north' before but I've just sent the regs off for your trial today...so I guess I'll be finding if it's really 'gods country' up by you
  16. The results might be posted on Bikespace's website: http://www.trialspace.co.uk/ Not there yet but he seems to get hold of things before most others...keep yer eye on it. Great trial apart from the rain, I really enjoyed myself.......... the ride to the last group seemed to go on forever (must get some goggles for that road work) Mark G
  17. Cheers Guys, This is my 4th TY250 and as far as I know none of mine has had any work done to them (except for my current one). It's a 92 pinky, the bore is std but is has had the inlet manifold shortend, as for porting I cannot tell, the motor is fairly noisey (nothing major) but I cannot stand a rough sounding engine. I plan to do most of the work myself with the exception of a rebore and a porting job + a new big end. What was the 'done' mods to Yams in their day??....I know out of all my old bikes, it was the pinky that I bought new in 91 that was the best out of the lot, it felt a bit more zippy than the 'R' and the 'S'. I rode it in the Welsh Trophy trial on Saturday, there were quite a few TY's in the aircooled mono class, one stood out as having a very sweet sounding motor (an m reg pinky) I happened to notice it did have Birkitt stickers all over it. I never got to speak to the owner but I will if he's at the next round I'll make the effort to have a chat. Anybody else got any info on Birkitt or Andrews work on Mono TY's?
  18. My Pinky is going to have a full stripdown and service at the end of the month, two names spring to mind for the engine work...Nigel Birkitt or Mick Andrews. I know NB is still about cause I saw him at a trial on Saturday, but what of Mick Andrews?? Anybody got any contact numbers?? cheers guys
  19. I use MGI Photosuite, to be honest I only ever use it for photo resizing...there way too much stuff on it for me to ever get my head round
  20. Hi Stu Bike should be ready this weekend for collection, the Stainless pipe proved to be too expensive in the end...so I've gone for chrome instead. Will post pics when done
  21. Jesus Ishy, Chill out dude did you mention the word "insecure"......
  22. GG and Sherco boxs are as bad as one another if you ask me....never get any water in my old TY At the last mountain trail Mark Wells GG got drowned out & I noticed James Francis Sherco had problems with water in the box at the last Oswestry trial.....Shouldn't have to put up with that in this day and age.
