    2005 Scorpa

Cheers for that Boofont, I've made my mind up to buy an 05 SY250 just after xmas. I've tried a few bikes and the Scorpa's build quality has won the day (not to mention that lovely Yam lump ;-)...did you ever have any problems with water getting in the Airbox under normal use? (not counting jet washing).
  3. Was the Honda 4st there R2W???
  4. I do understand that you don't seem to have a sense of humor Perce lighten up M8
  5. Sorry to go 'off topic' again Munch, do have you and Dabster got something going on?? fair play dude. your always there to defend the chap reminds me a bit of this daring duo:
  6. Anybody know of any good Trails wallpaper for my PC?? Thanks
  7. My 01 250 I used to have was the same, the Axle is made out of super soft Alloy, I snapped one Allen key off and in the end the head of the Axle just started to round off with the second atempt. You can try and impact Air Wrench, probably wreck the head of the axle but it might work. All this was aboout the same time I had quite a few other faults with the bike so I got rid and never did get it out .
  8. Funny you should mention the plastic thing Stu, I was looking on ebay last nigt and saw a 2001 315 for sale with 2004 Plastics...it looked really good. Nice to know you can do that if your on a tight budget and you want to make an older bike look a bit better I like the 04 white rear mudguard on the mont.

    Front Brake

I fitted one of Shritys disc conversion's to my then 'new' 1990 TYR, the brake was worse than the drum brake it replaced!! Cost
  10. Cheers Guys, Thats given me a few points to look out for when buying one, I had an old beta zero in the the early 90's and the bash plate on that was a pain to get off.....I always thought it looked a bit thin and it had got slightly bent, hence the struggle to get the bugger on or off. Thanks once again
  11. Not heard that much on the board about the recent Telford Dirt Bike Expo, what did you guys think of it? was it a success or was it crap? did many even bother to turn up? I think the entry fee of
  12. Not sure what to get next year, Has the Rev 3 got any serious problems I should look out for ? 2002 to present day version. I'd be looking at either 250 or 270, much difference? Cheers Guys
  13. It's just that Mont/Honda quality thing again I guess boofont they thought about it a bit I guess you get what you pay's for
  14. No, the 250 was S/Hand......but so was the Montesa Cota 314 it replaced It (the Sherco) looked like it hadn't done that much, (all engine bolts and wheel spindle bolt heads were like new, no rounding off or nothing) I was told that an older gent had had it from new before me, wasn't you was it ND??
  15. Spot on Marky Boy, I love the look and sound of a Duke 916, but I would never considor owning one due to the constant B/downs and faults they have. I have owned a 01 250 Sherco, by the time I'd put new mains in it and fixed the water pump impeller and had to have the silencer welded up etc etc........I sold it with a view to never buying another one...ever I'm looking at buying a S/Hand Mont 315 in the near future mailny because of build quality and a reliable engine design (Jap's again). Dabster, you need to seek professional help with that Sherco addiction..let it go dude......you know it makes sense
  16. Ishy has hit it on the head, my 125 is a really good novice/clubman bike but if your intentions are for the expert route the little Scorpa hasn't really got that low down instant zip you need to get up some of the bigger steps etc. I'm looking at buying another two stroke 250 next year just cause I fancy riding the expert route again, I'll be keeping the little 125 to do the ACU classic rounds here in the UK (aircooled mono class) As for the exhaust mod, I guess the 175 tail pipe is the same as my 125, I just drilled the pop rivits out and popped the end cap off, pull the perforated tube out and grind out the restricters (or replace the tube if you can get hold of one) dropped it back put the wadding back in and rivited it back up. Sounds better, and it is meant to help it 'breath' better
  17. Yep thats one of em Andy.......ummmm I also checked out the DBR gals Gasserboy took a pic of one:
  18. I've thought about it quite a bit, I know enough to get by on with my bikes engines, but as you say the Honda's complex design is a bit daunting to the average Joe. But thinking on, wasn't we all saying the same about electronic ignition when that came out to replace contact breaker points?? now I don't know of anything (bike or other) that still uses CB ignition. Automatic Gearbox's in car's was never going to catch on either I guess Let's just hope that Honda will make it that good it won't need replacing/fettling every five min's. Saying all that a new one will still be out of my reach unless the friggin lotto comes up
  19. Agree Gasserboy, The Trials front was a bit of a let down, bought myself a nice Hebo Jacket off <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> Stand, oh yeah...did you check out them *lovely girls* on the GG stand dressed in them spray on GG suits
  20. I say well done Honda/Montesa for trying the new model out in one of hardest trials in the world. It could have come in last but it would have proved the point of it's being there...to finish the trial. It just shows that the Honda boys want to make sure they get it right before letting it loose on the public. I noticed there was no Sherco Four stroke there Wayne!!! whats happened to it anyway? I havn't heard a thing for a while now.
