My mates got to change his tyre soon, I'll try and get him to give it a go with the lighter fluid...should be a laugh when his whole tyre and rim explode into a thousand pieces.......... AKA looney tunes cartoon
-
I've just got this mental picture of a dancing Banana observing section # whatever
-
Saw it on TV, I think it was Iceland where they have really wide tyres for Snow work, run very low pressure = they come off the rim quite often.
The guy sprayed lighter fluid inside the tyre, he then struck a match and bingo!! tyre back on rim...pretty cool to watch
The gas cartridge works ok for MTB, never tried it on a M/C tyre though.

Would probably look into going down the big bore road in a bout 12months time on mine, this should be enough time to iron out any problems with any of these kits
Does anybody know if you would have to buy the Carb / CDI / and the hot Cam to go with the big bore conversion?
-
Dabster, do you know where the engine came from? it looks like one of those Chinese lumps they put into them T/S Cotswold bikes?.
Quite a large head and barrel, but a small diameter front pipe.......I would have a guess at no more than 200cc.
-
How come there calling it a 175 then??
Thinking about it wasn't a few of the early Fantics always called somthing they were not ie; 300 = 250cc?
I wonder if there using the 150 kit you can buy from the States?
-
Nice one Vinnie, let us know hpw you get on with it mate, would be great if you could compare it with the 125 version
-
Steady on Dave Only Joking Boyo
My apologies to all the Welsh on here!
Where you from then Dave? North / Mid / South Wales??
Must admit, I find the Lads (and lasses ) from the South and Mid are very nice folks, and Twin Towns has got to be one of the best flims ever made.
-
Where did you guys get to hear about the 175 model?? I can't find no mention of it on the Scorpa website? the last I heard one was tried in The 04SSDT but broke down!.
They will sell you a 150cc big bore kit but no mention of a 175!

Well it took me all of about 5 secs to find the phone number in the "about us" link. I know its a stab in the dark but you could maybe ring them?
Nigel Birketts website is the same, never get's updated, I tried to contact him about some trials pants via his "contact page" twice""...never got a reply so I never bought any! I even tried to ring him but never got anywhere.
I just think it's a waste that these dude's only use there websites to display there phone numbers...Hell we don't even go shopping anymore all done over the net.
-
The contact link is crap as well YD, I don't think the UK site has been updated since last year!! try the french one thats better.
-
Hi Vinnie,
175 would be nice, a good balance between power and weight I would imagine.
I was just checking out the 04 Yam range of on/off road bikes,
The Engine's just look too big for pure Trials use, I would imagine this is why they used the TTR125 lump with it's light weight and SOHC internals.

below the 04 TTR250

Still running round with a tube in it then?
http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....topic=502&st=15
Yes, still got the tube in
I can see you still have a problem with it too
Back to IRC, I find the IRC to be a 'softer compound' than the Mich (just my opinon Mr Dabster ) and yes they last quite a while too.
-
Got to be IRC By a Mile...I've tried them all and I'll never have anything else now
-
It would be nice if Yamaha did have more of a roll in the production on the Scorpa range, I like the simplicity of my TS125 4st, I think it would be great if they could make a 250cc bike along the same lines (aircooled etc etc) these are the sort of bikes that would sell...
One of the reasons I love trials is it's a cheap sport, somehow the Monty just seems to be out of my league (**** I must be getting old!)
-
My Dealer mate was right then!
http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....showtopic=2140#
Still too much to pay in my tight a*** eyes, but I guess it it rocks your boat, go for it
Wasn't the RTL Honda mono about the same price when it came out back in 1988 they didn't sell many of them either if I recall!
-
So where can I get an entry form from?
I can just see me and my little 125 Scorpa riding round Scotland in the Sunshine for six days .........what da ya mean it's always p***ing down?
What chances have I got of getting in? (being a SSDT virgin??)
ISHY:
Posting seat to you this Saturday (sorry it's took ages!)
-
Local dealer to me said they are
-
I suppose it's the price we pay for all that Input that Honda put into it, Don't know if the Sherco will be going the same way.
All this plug it in to the laptop to see whats wrong just p****s me off, I just didn't think I'd see this kind of thing in Trials bikes......still I guess it is 2004
-
Local Dealer just told me the price of the Honda/Montesa,
-
Have you only one bike to carry?? if so just buy a bike rack...loads cheaper than a bike trailer, zero maintance, easy to store at home, no problems reversing up some single track when you've gone the wrong way
I think new there only about
