I asked the question to the nice lady from Carol Nash, and she did say that I was insured between groups......or else why bother getting it in the first place
Got the Yam Taxed yesterday all ready for the Welsh round in Rhayder this Saturday.....hope the weather hold out
-
>As far as I know there's not a standard insurance policy in the UK which >will cover you to ride in a competition.
>People may think they're covered and have that warm feeling, but they're >no better off than someone without insurance.
Your right Gaz, I'm not insured when "offroad in a comp" but I am covered for the trip's on the road between groups and I wouldn't like to chance a a run in with the old bill for no insurance I was just happy to get insurance at a decent rate to cover my bikes.
My Scorpa and my Kawasaki KLX650 are both insured with Carol Nash for a cost of
-
Looking forward to your trial........is there going to be any streams??
The 125 should be ready by then, so hopefully I'll be on it.
I know what you mean with the road thing, The last time I rode a road trial I used the good old 'moped insurance' I was insured for any bike all for
-
Hey Spency you FAGGOT!!
Got my Scorpa and my Kawasaki insured through Carol Nash, I'm just in the process of getting the Scorpa on the road, they gave me a cover note just on the frame number until I get a plate then I've got to ring them and tell the new reg number.
Check them out at

The TY is insured with Footman James :

try them as well, I must admit though the folk at Carol nash know there bikes alright (they knew what a Scorpa was)
Come on dude, get it togethor, the Welsh round is only next Saturday!! I'm looking forward to kicking you butt again

Surely these guys are only cheating themselves at the end of the day

There was some gezzer giving 5 away on this forum ages ago, I got my name down for one but heard nothing since
-
Because it's got that oh so sweet Yamaha motor in it that will last for years........good old Jap engineering for you
-
Hey Gaz, Looking forward to your trial on Sunday
-
And before the bike got dirty (SY250 longride kit maybe???)
-
The ultimate big tank conversion !!
-
I had planned to get the tank made to carry slightly more fuel (see one in pic) and after reading Mikes story it's just as well
The bikes going off this Saturday to have the Tank & Stainless front exhaust pipe made, I'll ask him if he'll extend the bash plate too.
So far I've took off the wiring and lights, made a small alloy bracket for the Choke to mount on (the old one snagged up the front number plate!) also done the clutch mod + I've attached a small extention under the rear guard to stop any crap & water getting into the airbox (looks like a better design than my old 250 Sherco) and I've chopped about 3" off the rear guard (used to look like a surf board )
-
I bought one when I had my Sherco 250, it did come with partial stickers on it but no "seat" sticker.
I forget how much it cost (
-
Thats Handy ain't it!!, why don't they just put: the only thing under warrenty after the first month is the dust caps
-
You must adjust this centre screw and lock nut firstly, then take up any play with the clutch cable adjuster on the handlebars
Just extending mine by 30mm at work in the morning, the bikes then going off to be fitted with an alloy tank, the same chap who's doing the tank will also make me a Stainless header pipe too...I'll post pics when I gte the bike back (two weeks)

That was the thing that they seemed to be hot on when I used to ride national / rode trials...the noise levels....
Not sure how you stand taking the silencer back to the importer, something to do with it being "for competion use"..wouldn't hurt to try though.

Hi Stu, no probs with the bike update, hopefully I'm doing the clutch mods in the next few days and I'm going to see the decal guy in the next few days.
Going to the local MX shop to get some of that thick clear stuff, to cover the frame parts that are exposed and also to put over the guard stickers to protect them (it's what the MX bikes are doing now with there graphic kits).
Alloy tank and Stainless pipe are being sorted too
I'll post some pics when it's done in a few weeks time.
-
Yeah T-Shock, the rear guard isn't very appealing to the eye is it
But until the 'comp' one comes out in September it'll have to do, why they stuck this guard on instead of the one on the proto models is beyond me! it feels about 10mm thick too
I'm going to check out the local graphics shop Monday to see what they can do (see proto model rear guard)
-
Got it !!
Time to start fettling the clutch mod involves pulling out the clutch actuating arm and extending it by approx 30mm... apparantly quite a bit of difference is noticed (I'll try this before I dash out and buy an Hyd Clutch).
Got to get some graphics knocked up to break up that massive looking rear guard, I was thinking along the lines of a 'Scorpa' sticker or a '125' sticker, also some of that 'technosil' thick protective clear adhesive for the frame and even to make a seat shape to stick onto the rear mudguard, where can I buy some of this stuff??
The plastic chain cover is coming off and a mate is making one of of Ali plate, also I'll need to get hold of some Stainless fastners for the bike.
Just as well I'm getting the header pipe chromed for now, I noticed the black paint is already coming off the header pipe and it's only been started up a few times, long term plans are for a Stainless header pipe.
-
Never mind the welds....whats up with the engine??
-
I collect the Scorpa Saturday afternoon
I'll probably bring it to your Mountain trial, you can be the first one to have a go on her mate
You want to have a go on me old TY as well, it'll be a real culture shock after your 290 Sherco
Catcha later

Gaz, there's nowt wrong with a bit of Chamios....I like to give it a good polishing now and again...and the bike too
Sorted it now buy buying a 125 Scorpa do you think the clutch will pull my weight???
You want to knock that expert route into touch and come over and join the us sensible chaps on the yellow route ...I can give you a few lessons for free if you wish
-
Cheers guys,
John B,.......... I'll have my name down for one of the Comp rear guards In September The dealer whom I'm buying it off knows of a guy who will do a Clutch mod, I don't know whats involved yet but I'll let you guys know as soon as.
A local chrome plateing firm will also do the work on the header pipe as long as it's new and not used.......Ben_r......Stainless pipe would be the best bet, let me know if you ever find the website
