Thought you guys might like a pic of one I saw last Sunday, the engine ran like a swiss watch
-
I've had two TLR 250 a few years ago, nice bike for sure......I'm sure somebody told me that all TLR's were made in 1985...nearly 20 years old, look out for the normal wear and tear but on both of mine the rims had rotted from the inside out (an easy
-
Agree with stu, lower the pressure or keep a good distance away......How can you get your bike clean with just a normal hose?? it must take forever!
I've had an Karcher electric washer for the past 12 years and it's still going strong.......
-
Jesus Gaz
Your a bit keen arn't you.......7hrs 11mins

Watched two of the 125's going round at the DK Mansell trial today, the sections were clubmen type routes (just nice, not over the top!) I must admit the little yam engine bike certainly didn't appear to be gutless.
It was doing everything the other bikes were doing..no problem.
The little lump sounded quite throaty too
For Clubmen type riding (which is 85% of us!) I reckon this little beast seems to be top notch, the only downside is I was thinking of buying an SY250.....but now I'm not so sure
-
Just for the record why did Yamaha stop making trials bikes?? (the Scorpa isn't really a Yam is it, only the lump)
Surely they must have sold loads of Aircooled TY's to make a profit, not sure about the TYZ though.
-
Cheers for the number anyway Gaff, the chap in Question will make the rims for you in house so to speak!
I went with Central because the chap who's building it for me get all his stuff from them and he'll get a slight discount
I must admit the cost of Rims is a bit over the top though
-
No doubt Nigel is the Yam man but I reckon he needs to develop his website it's a bit lacking to say the least
-
Arghh, the guy with the advert in TMX states : STARTS FROM
-
I've always used 200cc per 10ltrs of unleaded fuel (50~1), I notice the newer bikes seem to run allot leaner (some guy above 100~1 ratio )
My TY250 seems to like 50~1 and my Sherco seems to run ok too, if I was to lean it up a bit I'd be scared it would seize!! or am i just paranoid
-
It's the best bike he'll ever get as a starter bike the aircooled yam engine is as bullet proof as they get (more than can be said for some of the modern bikes)
I love em
-
Gaz, the pic dosn't do that tree justice!
that was a fair old step for a full size machine....how do the lad get on with the next step
Looks like a world champ in the making
-
Cheers Gaff, I'll bell them ASAP

Any more info on this Marky boy?
-
Cheers dude, I've delt with Central Wheel years ago on when I restored a A65 BSA, good shop but can get very
-
Cheers guys, from what I can gather the bike is fully sorted, I'm sure I was told it's been fitted with a water pump cover already
If it hasn't, it will be the first thing on my list before I ride it in anger, thanks again guys.

Cheers for the info Enrico, I spoke to my dealer mate today and got some more info on the SY, he told that infact the bike in question is an 04!! (I feel a bit of a **** posting my first comments ) The bike was sold just after xmas, but the guy who bought it, received a major back injury just after he had it & has had to pack in riding.
The bike was preped up but, never even ridden, so hence as new.
Looking forward to my new toy
-
Cheers for that dfwilson, has the guy with the 04 done the mods himself or has the bike come like that?........I know nothing about the SY250 other than that it's got a great Yamaha engine in it.
I must admit thats the main reason for me wanting one...a good bullet proof motor.
Is the airbox waterproof??
-
I know where your coming from Marky Boy, I would be planning on keeping the bike for a long while seeing as I would be pushing the boat out on the cash.
But I guess if it all went tits up & I had to sell, I would get more for an 04 than an 03.
As for the discount thing I'm a bit stuck there because I'm putting my Sherco in as P/X
-
Guess you just sell Sherco then ISHY
-
My pinky's back wheel rim is rotting from the inside out , has anybody got a rear wheel for sale or (prefered) a supplier of good rear rims for trails bikes.
cheers

Q, ISHY: Looking at your own words, do you think buying a 01 bike with a main rattle, and other problems is a fair assesment, of Sherco? who knows what the bike may have been through before you got it.
I bought the bike from my local dealer and is in very good condition (apart from the mains noise) he told me that it had been owned by an older gent whos also did some pre 65 riding (so that rules out the expert thrasher) he had the bike from new and because of his pre 65 riding and the advent of F&M here in the UK my dealer friend reckoned that the bike had only had about 9 months use even though it was an '01'.
As for price, I paid
-
I've been offered a 'brand new' 03 SY250 for
-
The Trial today had no water in any of the sections!! but I did cover the airbox inlet up before I washed the bike and so far no water in the box, the real test will be a trial with a few streams thrown in.
Bad news, I had to retire after only 2 laps due to the silencer splitting along it's top seam
Some how I think me and Sherco's just wern't made for each other!!
