  1. Probably just numbers made. The more you make, the less the cost (in general), although I don't think we get a wonderful deal in UK sometimes. Mx still works out just a little bit more expensive in the long run
  2. I've ridden a 500 triumph, but I suppose in those days, they were road bikes converted for trials. There's going to be some grey areas among the pre-65 machines I would think.
  3. Mind me asking your age PokenHOOD? At 36, I'm paying
  4. Someone has sent an empty envelope instead of their entry for the Powys Trophy on 25th September. The post mark isn't legible, so we can't even hazard a guess. If you think you've entered, I've just updated the entry list up to and including this morning's post, so please check you're on it if you think your entry should be in. Alternatively contact the secretary - Graham Evans on 01686 625010 (option1) Click on this link, then select Novogar News. The rider's list is available from a button at the bottom.
  5. Have you tried it at 90 on the motorway yet? Flying to Hawkstone?
  6. LOL I can picture it now, you better take two of them.
  7. Not sure mate - not been involved. I would think there will be a youth team as well though. Not sure who they would pair up with Mike Evans for that one? Rest assured I'll not be in it
  8. 13th/14th August - Mid Wales run by the Bro Cader club: Bro Cader Inter Centre Page
  9. It's hard to imagine how fast they are going. It looks fast on the telly, and even faster stood next to the course, but you only realise how fast it really is when you ride round the circuit. I was lucky enough to be sent out to the IOM for 4 months working and took my 600 with me. When you ride round the course a lot of it is a 30 limit so you're never going to even get the feel, but when you open it up on bits that have no speed limit, and realise that your 120mph is just the 'average' speed for some of the riders. Taking in to account some of the corners at 30mph and less, they've got a hell of a lot of catching up to do to knock that average back up. Some of the circuit is terrifying. Everything's just too close, houses, fences, walls, the mountain should be a breath of fresh air, except that they have to be absolutely pinned. I managed to clip 150mph across the top of the mountain (straight wide open bit) and even that's not an altogether nice feeling. Maybe I'm getting old, but all I could think of was puncture, chain, seize, sheep (you'll sympathise with that one Perce), anything but pleasure. These blokes are absolute nutters, no question about it.
  10. Bidded - I'm winning. Ebay should have a breathaliser - Bit worried, got no space for it, I imagine it'll take up half my garage.
  11. Just old enough to have your road licence. Another couple of years is it Lloyd
  12. I know what you mean, but no sympathy needed - the trial was a good'n. Almost all of the points above are general comments on the Novogar series. The whole series is harder this year. Yorkshire will always be slightly tougher than the rest The problem will be the same for all of us - who do we aim these sections at? Without answering that question, the best you can do is try to appeal to the majority of riders who are riding the series at the moment, and I think a lot of the lower end clubmen have stopped travelling for them quite so eagerly. Very hard to say who we're aiming the Novogar series at.
  13. Not sure how desperate you are for bits. Have you seen this one: Ebay UK Italjet Bit far for you maybe.
  14. **** - local collection only, just noticed. Can't believe this isn't in 'Anything goes' you numpty yow yow.
  15. How many pints of Strongbow to bid on the best bike in the world? Highest bidder Hope he delivers, I imagine he's miles away.
  16. Just to put it in perspective, in case the good people at Bradford take these comments in any sort of negative way. The trial was bloody good. I remember feeling a bit bogged down in the middle of it, but I'm over about 17 stone and nearer 40 than 30. If I can get round and still walk, it can't be too gruesome I know these questions are regarding the Novogar series as a whole, and I think in a positive way. I'm wondering myself what level the Novogar should be aimed at, as our centre tackles one in about 6 weeks time. I've not seen all the sections at the SSDT, but got round a fair few. How do people think the Novogar series should compare to Scotland? I know that Scotland has 6 days to fatigue people and grab the marks off them, but from what I've seen recently the Novogar series is a fair bit harder than the majority of Scotland sections. It's also harder than the Manx 2 Day hard route. Just looking to put it in a pigeon hole somewhere, and probably to aim our sections at a particular level
  17. Looking at the whole trial there was a nice balance to be honest. If it were any harder at all, I'd probably have a day out watching I was beginning to wonder in the middle. There was a clump of sections that came at us one after the other which were VERY difficult for most of us lardies down the mid to bottom end and the heat helped to detune us a little. I think it was round about section 17 for about 7 sections, I attached the harness and strapped the Sherco to my back When you look at the results though, the top 10 to 15 hardly flinched at them. I would have loved to see them ride them. It seems there is a certain type of section which the big boys find just that tiny bit harder, while the bottom end find impossible and just can't see a way up - bound to happen I suppose. Some of them were like ice, and it's hard to find the confidence to commit when it is that slippy. I stil honestly don't know the answer to the question "What is a clubman?" I ride at the low end of experts in our centre, I ride the hard route in the Manx2day and that seems to fit me just right, but the non-stop helps my old fart riding style I think. I've ridden all the Novogar's so far, the two Yorkshire ones probably being the most tiring, mainly I think because of the bigger steps. So, question's still not answered, but a healthy discussion here which may come up with some ideas.
  18. Didn't see their names on the entry list. I reckon the entries must have been down a bit. We were number 18, 19 and 20 and riding at the front most of the way. We didn't overtake 17 people so I reckon quite a few saw their early numbers and didn't bother. Maybe they should do reduced entry fee for a number of "pacemakers" to go round at the front and scrub the sections? I suppose anybody who is up to riding the course is there anyway. It's a shame, but can't really think of a way round it.
  19. I passed a "Weak Bridge" sign on the AJ today and thought of you Ishy Pretty knackered tonight - bloody hard day out - some (alot) above me to be honest. Just after looping it on the graded hillclimb, I think it was section 39 - I revved the nuts of it and launched it at the last step, then managed to hit the brakes, and had to stall it and pry my hands off the bars. Cramped up and wouldn't let go Just after that, I dropped in to the final field - quite literally! Run out of water, still cramping up, dropped my front wheel in to a fox hole, and went sliding down the field in front of about 30-40 people. Some poor woman in a deck chair panicked a bit as a fat bloke slid towards her, still trying with his legs to stop the bike bouncing through their picnic. I'll sleep tonight
  20. Unless they see sense and marry a Northerner
  21. Thanks Ron, and thanks Jools, yeah should be an easy win for me. Just worried that when they tested the bikes for fuel, they didn't test them with anyone of such a well developed physique Yes, well developed....I like that
  22. Is that you Vicky? Vicky Pollard???
  23. You're talking a lot of sense there Jools. Is that really you???
  24. Cos they're a damn sight cheaper, do the same job, and you don't look such a tw4t as if you've got all the kit and still ride like ****.
