  1. I think you will spoil the whole series by making a easier route non point scoring. You will only get a few over 50s wainting to do the harder route and some of the older twinshocks struggle on the harder route. what some of us do is just make up the numbers we are never going to win our class we aim to finish in the bottom half picking up as many points as we can beating the riders who normally finish around us. if you stop us scoring points we may stop riding the events. Surely to encourge more entrys you have a championship in each class scoring points . and a clubman class riding the B route in each class scoring there own points , weather its right or wrong your average rider will prefer to ride a B route. you dont have to have awards but have a seperate championship for the clubman . You cant always cater for the top riders , The top over 40. twinshock boys want the events harder, well give it to them but dont make us all do it. I have done 6 rounds this year on the over 50 B route and they have been perfect serverity ( FOR ME). I would not do the harder route.well I would not enjoy doing the harder route and surely thats whats it all about. Its fantastic to do a one lap 40 section trial, you dont want to struggle all day, we all like to compete in a championship why not let the A class riders have one and the B class riders there own.
  2. The way the acu rules are for the classic championship in my opinion could do with revising. At the moment there are 5 classes. Pre 65
  3. I have copyed the letter I had sent to me from the sutton falcons, Hi All Sorry to inform you all but this years Rosebowl Trial which is a round of the Classic Championship, has been postponed from September 9th. The reason behind this is that on the same day as the trial there is a carnival in & around Beeley village & the landowners don't want upset the villagers. A date has been found to run the event & as soon as i have conformation from the ACU the regs will be sent out. Please email back if you want more info. Cheers Greg email address is suttonfalcons@hotmail.com I agree there should be an up to date page with information on.
  4. I wrote to the secretary for entry forms the next round, the sutton falcons and he said it was to be cancelled. problems with land, I am surprised he has not announced it in tmx yet.
  5. if anyone concerned with the acu reads this can you please update the classic championships on the web page ,they are 2 rounds out of date, I have tried e mailling the acu direct but thats a waste of time.
  6. Thanks for that I emailed the guy and they are having problems with land and it may be put off till october
  7. Anybody have any information on the next classic round, the Rosebowl trophy run by sutton falcons, theres no address on the acu page to send entries or who do I contact for onfo on it.
  8. the power of trials central just clicked on the classic championship and just like magic the tables appeared well done lads someones watching
  9. on the acu web site there is a section for trials, under this you get a list of all the championships. If I click on the classic championship I get the ladies tables, is it just me?? i have written to the acu on there contact us link but typical acu no responce to me or the site. anyone have any other links to get to the championship positions.
  10. cheers guys, new I could relie on you. one ordered thanks again
  11. last year I bought a new heavy duty mudflap for the beta from ebay. needs replacing now, was a great buy but the guys not selling them on ebay anyboby no where I can get one.??
  12. The previous classic round the phil king took a bit of a grilling on these pages ealier, but praise where its due, I think sundays Doncaster cup run by Mansfield maun was really good. The weather was fine it started from a pub which served great food and cooked breakfast . To cater for pre 65s, twinshocks and some really good modern bike riders has got to be difficult, but I think they had it spot on, some sections were easy but some were really challanging, the big rock steps and the last double sub were great. 2 twin shock boys finished on single figures but the rest were into doubles and a result was achieved. Thanks to all involved in the organizing and to the observers who were really chatty and pleasent. results can be seen on mansfield maun website http://www.mansfieldmauntrials.co.uk/2007-...07-Results2.htm
  13. competed in forest trophy trial on sunday, great event as mention else were, but hey was it wet and cold. I only had trial trousers and trial jacket on and I froze, took some of the enjoyment from a great trial for me. so I need a decent set of wet weather gear, so what is the best, I dont expect to keep bone dry but I need to keep that wind off, ( dont say stop eating the beans) . who was wearing what and how was it. saw some guys in combat jackets??. and some guy had shorts on?????
  14. phil king results anywhere, points are on the acu page. anyone want to comment on hard it was , some of the twin shock boys really found the turns and drops a bit to much. the top twin shock boys can hop and jump there bikes around the tight turns, do you think its right to make it that tight , the lads who just come to make up the numbers and want to do a one lap trial. wont return next year if its to hard and you will end up with just the top riders entering the events.other events in this championship have been really good.
  15. falcon shocks do 13 1/2, built to yours needs . by far the best and rebuildable,
  16. did you measure the spacers I have 2 spacers the same size and it was fitted one spacer and a steel washer on the non disc side. thats from new, wondering weather to take washer out, obiviosly there for a reason. will get new spacer made first , good old beta
  17. just about to replace pads on my beta, interested to here opions on the best ones to get , seems to be between apico and galfer. any comments appricated
  18. nickday read the " new rev 3 mikuni carb " forum at the top of the beta page. the bike is a great bike but be aware you can have carb issuess
  19. just be aware there is a carb problem, I was not last year when I bought mine and it really has enoyed me, if there was not a problem there would not be a link where you can modify the carb? i have heard all he excuses , petrol is suppose to leak out??? .fuel leaks out because the carb was designed to run straight and it leans over, so when the bike faces down hill the carb floods, its not rocket science. others say turn of the fuel when you park up !!!!!! sure you aregoing to forget to put it on at some point mine does not start facing down hill so when queing in a gulley you have to keep it running if it stops you have to face it up hill to start it wharts that all about??? none of these problems would ever have happened with the gas gas. surely at the end of the day you should not have these problems with a new bike, I just want to taKE IT OUT AND RIDE IT. the bowl nut wont make any difference unless you ride mega steps be warned .
  20. I bought a brand new beta last year after gas gas . love the bike but hated the carb problems, have had all the bits done, runs great but still wont start facing down hill and is a pain. when you buy one you will then find out how many other people have carb problems , if you get a bad one it will drive you nuts. you will be forever taking the carb off. not what i expected to do with a new bike, never touched the gas gas carb? the bike is great except fot the carb and it has been a problem for years and beta cant be bothered to sort it out????
  21. bronze weld a plate either side, take note of frame number, if i remember you may have to re stamp it. I would surgest tweeking the head stock in a little to steepen the headstock angle ,it makes a difference .it helps with the tight turns in todays sections. i cant remember the exact degrees but i can find out if you want. have got pictures if you want not close ups but might give you an idea.
  22. i had a fast white throttle on my 06 beta, i am only clbmsn standard rider changed it for a black slow made a real difference , much better
  23. ask to have a go on a 200, I would surgest a beta 250 if you are a resonable rider. I tryed a 200 and thought it lacking a bit, the 250 is a really controlable bike , the power is perfect for us club riders, you may have to put up with carb leaking though.
