  1. has any one used the titanium footrest hangers made by raptor, on a 05/06 Beta, does the chain still rub on the back of the hanger ,as it does on the standard hangers.do the standard footrests fit in them?
  2. make sure you can get a piston if you go 325 , there were very difficult to get a few years ago.
  3. I am about to renew my sprockets on my 250 beta. I have had the bike from new and it came with 11..41 .. I have read previous posts and some say standard is a 42 rear. What are other people using, will 1 tooth on the rear make much difference? .cheers
  4. on a earlier posting you say the streams are running well, with this no stop rain we are having how are the streams now, will they still be usable, theres no chance it will be cancelled is there .
  5. i am travelling up to do the rosebowl, proberly bed and breakfast ,anyone no a good place around matlock ,safe for bike on trailler , and resonable price, if i leave it to saturday night will there be places still avaliable, matlock must have a few bed and breakfasts I imagine.
  6. will this be a one route trial or will there be 2 routes, cheers
  7. good event again as it has been for the last 3 years I have ridden it. proves with good section laying out you can have 2 routes running in the same sections testing all ablities, other tradional organisers should take note, 50% of the route we all rode the same section, the others had a one or two gate diversion, I think they had it spot on. I second all the praise for thorpy, legend.
  8. Hi try this site its for gas gas manuals http://www.lmcc.co.uk/gas_gas_manuals.htm I had a 99 andorra, my first modern after twinshocks great bike, traded it for a beta not sure it was a great move, a lot of people prefer the txt to the pros. I was told the only difference with the andorra were the graphics no other change to a txt , cant swear on it though.
  9. I have an 06 beta , I go into 1st ,up to 2nd then gently knock down into netural, seems to work fine, 2nd to 3rd ,I sometimes get 2 clicks and i am unsure if I have gone into 4th , they way the selectors work I dont think I can go 2 gears in one lift is that true??
  10. I have just bought one from uk trial. they are made by hebo. has anyone used one yet. when you have filled it up do you have to take it off, to get petrol in tank, the instructions are a bit vague, ' connecting it up to the vapouriser ( which i assume to be the carb )a little ambitious. can you block both pipes up or do you need to leave one open to breathe.
  11. On reading the CLASS ENTERED section for the tradional championship ( the regulations say the same) . It states if you enter ,for instance.... class E 'Machines not in class A ( pre 75)...class B (twinshock)or class C ( aircooled) ridden by rider over 50'. Now the classes A,E and F on some rounds get an easier route ( which is a good idea), if you are an over 50 rider riding say, a twinshock, does the wording above mean you cannot enter the twinshock in class E OVER 50. hope it makes sence??
  12. I have just had the same problem and its the casing corred through, the new casing from lampkins is now not magnesium, I was advised to use coolonal as a coolant. if you buy gasgets and seals and bearings its a
  13. Its still there and proberly the same as it was then, we dont even use it for club trials , waterlooville used it in the hoad trial when that was run, but they dont run trials now so no one uses it. I dont think this was on grandstand, the one shown on grandstand was the british experts from hawkstone park.
  14. friend of mine used a new pair for a while but has now gone back to his old falcons. which are also british, and rebuildable, if you can affort the light alloy ones thats the way to go.

    Rev 3 250

i had this when i used standard unleaded petrol, i run 70.1 with super esso unlesded it stopped it knocking, try this first.
  16. straight foward job really, have not put casing back on yet ,but all ready to go. drain oil and water first.remove water pump and clutch covers, undo 7 bolts around casing note where they go or put them on a card they are all different lengths, i then removed sump gaurd, the black rubber under the engine gets in the way it seemed easier to remove it. casing slides off. the water pump has a black impeler on one side and a white cog on other. the black impeler has a circlip holding it on ,remove this, impeler slides off , tap spindle out through seal and bearings. there are 2 small race bearings here and a seal, look at the way round the seal is.its stops the water from the pump going into the oil so it looks as though its the wrong way round but its not. the bearings for the kick start and gear change come in the new casing. there are 2 locating pins you need to take out of the old casing and the oil level glass needs to be changed to new casing I replaced all bearings and seals, the 2 small water pump bearing looked fine and could proberbly been reused , new gasget and new rubber o rings to outer casings. i am assuming it will all go back together fine ( famous last words) i will no tomorrow, any problems i will let you know.
  17. decided to replace casing, clutch does not have to be touched, casing plus all seals ,gasgets and bearing
  18. You are not the last, my casings on my 06 have just corroded through, they obiviously dont put this organic coolant in from new, I will be fiting new casing anyone no where you can buy this organic coolant
  19. which coolant did you go for , and was your original problem corroded inside water pump housing. was it a straight foward job getting clutch off, and did you renew all seals? I assume there is no need to take engine out? as you can guess I am about to refit a new case when i order it i would like to make sure i have all the bits needed to refit in one go, would you mind listing all the bits needed please.
  20. taylo63 thanks for reply, have just started stripping to replace casing, not a simple little job, clutch has to come off,I have only taken outer casing off as yet, will phone lampkins to see how long before delivery on new casing , before i go any futher. On close inspection it is only corroded through the oring seal to bottom ,not into back as yet , no oil in water, seemed to hold up okay with silicon to finish trial, do you think it would be okay to run for a while like this, what did you do to repair yours. it is really badly corroded will go through the back eventually I think, must be something in water I have never changed mine or even top it up .
  21. I have just done a trial today on my 06 beta, which i have owned from new, and have had exactly the same problem. removed pump cover and casing is eroded badly around rubber seal mastic worked to finish trial, but should I leave it like this , what did you do to fix problem looks like a new casing,
  22. it is proberbly the float height , it has to be spot on, i spent hours adjusting mine , it sounds as if not enough fuel is getting in the carb bowl you have the tangs to low, the minimal adjustment makes a lot of difference.
  23. There was a extra flywheel weight that bolted to the existing flywheel and a spacer casing with longer bolts, you could take the weight off and run standard if you wanted. I have a bolt on weight in the garage somewhere no casing or bolts if mr moore would like it.
  24. the article didnot really test the bike, just really saying how they are reproducing a new batch, with mr whitlock doing the frames. confirm it says they weigh 2.75kg lighter. some good pictures. about the head stock I think craigs idea was to keep them as original as possible, if your a majesty man worth dipping in your pocket and reading ..great magazine any way.
  25. I think one set of marker colour for every round a good idea, another surgestion is for a definate difference to the numbers for what route you are riding , on the colin dommett we all had white numbers, if you were over 50,or over 60 and riding the white route on a modern bike the observers had no way of knowing what route ,and as all the classes were mixed up it was confusing, and as for the section markers it was a bit of make up your own route.
