  1. Bought one on Ebay. The case and cover looks fine but the disk is a plain white DVDR. I contacted the seller who claims it is genuine, he points to the fact that it is a small production company in the states and this is the norm. Can anyone confirm this? I have a original and its orange on the disc with a picture of a rear wheel, with the words Trials Training Tech. and cross Training tools.....writtern acros it. yours sounds like a copy.
  2. come on lads lets have some info on the event ,last year there was a great build up wetting our appetite, for what we are about to face . this year all i have is a start time, is it to be roughly the same circuit as last year. including that brickroad with the hole on the right.
  3. is it white when you drain it out, mine starts of looking milky , then clears and is fine, and works fine.
  4. buy one with a sidecar fitted already if possible, and make sure the chair has fitted by someone who knows what there doing i.e Rushton , if he is still fitting them. Its not a case of just bolting it on ,if you want it to handle it has to be right, as for which make, any you fancy, we use to use gasgas because the sprocket was on the inside of the chair, proberly want a 290 or 300 . if you have not rode one yet I surgest you have a go first, its not easy , you may be a good solo rider but you will find it totally different with a chair, but have a go its great fun.
  5. the new site is rubbish and hard to work out try http://www.acu.org.uk/News/2009/01/2009-TR...-BY-NORMANDALE/ for tradional rounds to get other championships all i can work out is acu site ...trials page..scroll down to archive .....click on january09 has all championships not as simple as it use to be. hope this helps
  6. i think you will find hebo has the best knee pads if thats your main concern. new hebos no where as good as old ones , just bought some clice , thin okay for summer.
  7. treat yourself when you put it back together and fit some boyesen reeds best
  8. we always use to do it ,years ago on our outfit and never had a problem, dont do the valve up tight in case it slips.the only problem we had is when we tryed a tubed tyre on a tubless rim , didnot like that.
  9. this really winds me up as well I am with you on this , the section is between the gates what ever colours they are , its obvious ,but on our club trials people will go between two markers loop and come back in , its riduclous, and once one does it they all follow. as a section plotter it spoils good sections. even on the recent phil king trial , there was a section where you ended by going over 2 logs on an angle to get out of the ends gate, carefully positioned so you had to approachat an angle, all the pre 65 boys did it correctly and took marks off some , later i found out riders were going over the log lower weaving in a big loop and coming back into the ends, spoilt a good section.I do try and use tape, but as you say with 4 routes its some times not possible. we were always told the section is between the red and blue gates , straight line, between reds one side and blues the other. no mater how far apart they were.
  10. i have recentally bought one of these extra fuel tanks for my 06 beta, have not yet used it , how do you connect it up, i was only going to use it to carry fuel, unclip it and pour it into tank when needed, can you connect pipe to existing fuel pipe? if so where are you running the pipe, through the rubber where the throttle cable runs?what happens when you take extra tank off, do you block t piece.
  11. cheers for that, good idea, wey , to dear for me,
  12. always thought the front end of my beta heavy, where can you get those full bag pegs.
  13. the welding or brazing on that shock absorber gusset is never , mick witlocks, or would he ever let it leave the factory like that. the mans got pride.
  14. come along to the next event and have a ride on a modern bike see how much easier they are to ride than the older bikes. dave reneham still rides sometimes , and barry roads. some of us are well into our 50s and are still out most weekends, you obviously could ride a bit and 2 or 3 times on a modern bike and it will all come back, beware you will get hooked again. they have over 50 classes in most events, north hants events dont run an expert route, bognor and most acu clubs have an expert route that might make you think a bit. trouble is its all very tight and the experts hop and jump the bikes around, great if you can do it. the top route last week was aimed at intermidiates. that was section 1, and was one of the easier sections, you want to have a go , you know it makes sence.
  15. [ I used to ride a Cheney Ossa back then. Oh how times have changed.Mind you what section I did see I reckon I could quite easily have ridden on the old Ossa on what I think was the hardest line. Any ideas on how to let the wife let me get another bike? She reckons I'm too old Loved to know what section you watched on, the top route was the blue gates, and if you could EASILY have ridden your ossa round it ,you best get back out and show us all how its done..whats to old ??? derek rides round and hes over 70. great trial , blue route very enjoyable and testing, if you did'nt get lost. queing on a big entry and 4 laps ,is gonna happen it was not that bad, it was a nice day . thanks to all involved. any results likely to be posted online anywhere.
  16. is it at the old, usual bagshot or the new land
  17. theres an amca club called blackmore vale run trials in mere area, good , ideal for twinshock do believe they have one over christmas
  18. look in search , turning rear tyres http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....13&hl=tyres theres a few comments, but yes turn them, never seems as good as new though
  19. 06 beta had a quick action throttle as standard which makes them lively switch it for a slow makes a lot of difference, I cant believe no one has mentioned the fuel , beta s up to 06 leaked fuel from the carb you will find lots of posts on it if you look back, its no real problem, but can be annoying, my casing corried as mentioned cost
  20. alton club and gosport club run events in the petersfield area look on wobblies site for info http://www.willbrown.co.uk/www/ thats for the acu events. if you want amca bognor run trials in petersfield , buriton,, harting areas http://www.brdmcc.org/Homepage.htm depending on your ability there are routes for everyone and a great bunch of lads.
  21. what would you call frequently?
  22. I have a 06 beta and have owned it from new, I have recentally noticed one leg is showing signs of the blackcoating wearing off, my bike has not had a hard life and I have never changed the fork seals ,I would not consider this a problem, will be interested what others have to say.
  23. does not matter if you live in the centre you can still join a south eastern club and ride there events . on the amca side look at bognors website they run a full year of trials , they also combine with the south cost group which run trials from eastbourne to petersfield. the website has not got the 2009 dates yet but we have recieved them in the news letter so they will be posted soon. http://www.brdmcc.org/Homepage.htm gosport not the best place to live,,,,,,,,,,,,, for traveling I mean
  24. it cant afford to p*** fuel out ,the tank looks so small it would run out, cant see the tank being big enough for some of the single lap nationals, without 2 or 3 fuel stops , bikes run out of fuel on this years and last years peak before reaching the halfway, the tank on the new one looks a lot smaller than mine , i would guess a litre smaller. any thoughts. it looks nicer in the flesh, must say rad cap looks a bit easy to knock.
  25. cheers lads , just treated myself to one with my new chain and sprocket set , must say ,thought the chain was tight running through it and the link actually knocked on it. will give it a go ,see if it lasts , anyone got any good news about them.
