Hi, they are a bit of a pain when it comes to the carb. Check you have a 17.5 pilot jet and a 102.5 main jet as they were modified to run these and set float height to 18 mm. turn carb upside down put it on a good flat surface and remove gasket and carefully measure from base of carb to top of float (which is of course bottom of float as carb is upside down set to 18 mm . Set mixture screw to 1 and half turns out. blow out 2 small jets in back of carb and make sure they are in the right places 145 top 80 at bottom. Whilst your at it remove choke from carb clean it up on the end of the cable spray with wd 40 and refit it and make sure there is plenty of free play when its all back together. You can go to Birkett Motorsport website for any other 4 t set up info. Cheers Sorry cant help with fork oil ring Birketts 01229 716806
  2. I registered and did not have to make a donation. But I want to cancel my registration as they keep sending French emails and I cant translate them and I was useless at French back in my school days.

In a catalogue I have thats a couple of years old it was 165 dollars thats about 80 pounds. I have ordered from them a 3 way adjustable lever and as the pound is strong against the dollar it was cheaper than a normal Domino lever ordered in ths country. In the clutch kit you get the lever and a new featherlight cable as well as the plates etc. Phone them 615. 789. 5956. You will have to look up the code I cant remember it sorry. I rang them around 5.30 pm and got hold of them. I dont know the time difference.

The Gilera on ebay sold for a grand. The Cimatti is a nice one, a bit like my old Malaguti. There is a book out called Funky Mopeds by Richard Skelton for the fans of the sports mopeds. Its on ebay but is cheaper on Amazon.
  6. Possibly Kramer MX bikes that later became Kramit (Italy). If you google Kramer Motocross and follow to 2nd page on the first site you divert to SWM. I have an old Which bike mag and they look similar on gear lever side with kickstart set up etc. It is on the back page of w bike with the Seeley test if you have it ? Just a thought. Cheers
  7. No cant do that one Stu the bike is stripped for r wheel bearings, b pads chain needed etc etc. Be out within next week or 2 though. No problem you get those nappies sorted out .

Sorry I have not got the link to the site but I know a few have been built here. There are a couple in Gloucestershire built by Jon Bliss. I did buy a dead Gasgas to build one but it was one of those things that seemed like a good idea but would probably take a while to do so I sold it all and bought a Scorpa 125 instead a/c mono. If you want Jon Bliss's number PM me for it. It is not a cheap job to have done if you need to pay others to do it though. If you go on youtube and type in gasgas you will find one there. In Japan I think ????
  9. Yes Stu, I only need to sort out the not putting the foot on the ground in the section and then I will be doing well. Went over the bars big time but finished. All good fun (I think)

Malc Bob Gallier should have carb parts nothing else. That RG400 has been in there with the Montesa for years, if you had delved a bit deeper you would have found a brand new still in its crate Kawasaki KH400 2 stroke triple. Geoff Bedford was the Gilers dealer for the area. Both as tight as each other.

Update;; on closer inspection it is a 70s Trial 50, if it has an 18mm carb its de restricted model. Bob Gallier will possibly have carb parts in stock still after all these years. Also is there evidence of a pedal mechanism as that will date it as well. If no pedals its a slow 79 model, possibly only restricted with carb size ???
  14. Has the motor been apart. I had a similar problem, not Ossa but the selector shaft was not put back in the correct position where teeth engage with the selector drum, too high i think and would not go past 2nd gear. If its possible you need to push the shaft out and go down a notch on the drum. A lot of hassle I know but it sounds as if thats it if the motor has been apart recently. Good luck.

Hi Malc, it is a Gilera 50 Trail. 4.2 bhp @7000 rpm, 49.8 cc. Has a 14mm Delorto carb fitted they were around in the 70s. Weighs 68kg dry. One of the Funky mopeds of the 70s. I had a Malaguti Cross and Pitley had a TY50 (of course) only 27 yrs ago. PS stick it on ebay the old sports mopeds are doing well on there.

Sorry no idea but I can see Malcra will be getting the welder out if its a proven mod.
  17. I'll observe for ya chief, closest section to the pub and make sure they have plenty of Magners in.

Can anyone put a site or link on with the clutch lever from America that is a good mod for the 125 Scorpa. My clutch is bugging me now Thanks.
  19. I dont think they are the same as any TL or XLs. Maybe same as RS200 ? In the 4 stroke finale book there is a 200Honda from 1979 and the air filter set up on that looks similar. Again Big Johns yer man. What red paint are you using for the frame or tank cover?
  20. Come on Stu "not into driving too far" how far had you driven and what time in the morning and how much sleep etc before you observed at WVAC. See you there.
  21. No No No big wide open space, give them a bit of mud and a few puddles etc Bring back the Mk 2 Escort driver from a couple of weeks ago, now he knows his onions. Somebody please do a link to it. I dont know how as I am a bricky and therefore not in front of the computer all day. blah blah blah.....

Apparently there is a bloke in the Isle of Man who has some parts, someone on here may know who I mean. Maybe Big John knows. I had his details but cant find them now, Sorry. Is it the one with the disc front end or have you found another one? PS my Seeley has a Wes system easily modified to fit if you dont have any joy with an exhaust system.
  23. Theres a TY250 gone on ebay tonight 189 miles from new dry stored etc. Buy it now 2K.
  24. Any one on here been to the Dudley clubs venue at Clows top Mamble on the A456 Kidderminster road? Just wondering what sort of trial to expect, terrain etc. Trial there this Sunday. Thanks.
  25. No Andy I understand it, sheer class and I have not yet visited Scotland. Fair play to him a humble baggage handler just got stuck in and no messing. 1000 pints??? The bloke should drink for free for life in his home town. 1-0 to Scotland. Sheer class.
