No Andy I understand it, sheer class and I have not yet visited Scotland. Fair play to him a humble baggage handler just got stuck in and no messing. 1000 pints??? The bloke should drink for free for life in his home town. 1-0 to Scotland. Sheer class.

Fair play, I dated a couple of Yamahas the same way years ago. Good to see they are still on the ball. So many others want to take money from you nowadays for the simplest of services. Well done Yamaha.
-
Thanks Woody, had my eye on a TY 250 non runner on ebay reached its reserve at
-
Did anyone actually work out what the frame mods were when the motor was raised in the Yamaha frame ?
-
Well done Malc, a good report. Plus a good Bowley report also. Ever thought of a career change ?
-
Thanks BJ. Not sure what thread is, the tap S Goode has on ebay is 14mm. I will have it apart and see, I would have thought all the tanks were the same, was it only the frame that was modified ?
-
The Seeley fuel tap has sprung a leak. Any one know what tap was used. It is a chrome pull out type with no reserve, not like the one Steve Goode has on ebay same as CZ.
The bike is one of the last built so they may have used a couple of types? Also what is a close red for frame touch up? Thanks in advance.

There is supposed to be oil in there, thats not your problem.
-
As the bike has been stood for a long time and not used enough to get hot it may be worth changing the crankcase oil seal on the ignition side as they tend to go hard and can play up when the bike gets hot. If the other side seal has gone you will notice the bike will burn gearbox oil. Worth checking the coils etc also.

The clutch on the 125 is grabby when hot I find. There is a mod to fit a TTR125 clutch arm off a late type TTR as they are longer but you need to remove the clutch, I have not done mine yet. I try to ride where possible without the clutch just on the throttle, obviously this is not always possible. Ihave done the front sprocket also.
PS. You may want to buy the steel chain tensioner from Birketts as I am sure the original one is made from Swiss cheese and bends at the hint of rocks. Another one is to fit a mudflap so as to cover the exposed part of the r shock, bolt or rivet to the bottom of airbox, I will do mine when I turn the r tyre.
-
Really tightening the carb you are sort of warping the carb body and then it goes back to normal when slackened off slightly. H ave you got the heat shield between carb and head ? As without this you will have similar problems.
-
They must still be struggling to come out of the woodwork.
-
Looks like somebody has already slightly laid down the r shocks for you. Compare the top mounts to other TY250 s on ebay. May be different for various years, I am sure Woody will confirm?
-
I am sure I saw the Honda 360 on a French website, unless it was a replica.
-
Hey Malc, WVAC are doing 3 routes Sunday. The last Gwent "classic" me and Pitley went to was not set out for the twinshocks very well I thought. As you know I have the a/c mono. Maybe I was having a bad day ???? (again)
It is a very fine line to be able to cater for all successfully.
-
No, the original post is about the VW Caddy 1996 on. Not the pick up or the latest one you posted photos about. The one that is the same as a Seat Inca.
PS. John there is a small pick up a Proton Jumbuck I think its called, but I dont think you can get a Diesel. Also the Caddy pick up you have is gaining a bit of a cult status among the V Dub crowd on account the Mk1 Golf front end etc, so when you are going to sell it stick it on ebay, they love em.
-
I've got a Caddy, its my 2nd. They are reliable (VW) and 120k is not a lot if it has been looked after. I sold one with 180k on and its still running around now. Make sure its a SDi as the SD are gutless and they were selling both around P reg. Also they are built in Spain and the white ones tend to pick up rust spots on the front sloping part of the roof above the driver. Never tried to get 2 trials bikes in one but I think Pitley managed to do it but a back door had to stay open. The SDi is good on fuel as well.
-
Heres another. Iknow I will never be anything other than the ass end of average one day. If I was playing football, snooker darts or whatever I would have jacked it in by now but this is trials and nobodys bothered.
-
While prepping my 125f for a trial tomorrow I was checking the oil and noticed the level had risen. On inspection saw that I had accidentally had the fuel tap on reserve and not OFF and the bike had been stood for a couple of weeks. I think fuel has been seeping in slowly and filling the sump. As the carb and float height are sensitive on the 125 just thought I would point this out to other Scorpa 125/175 riders on here. Cheers

Try J K Hirst, you can order on line. They are usually very good and keep a lot for the TY monos.
-
I voted and in the other 2 boxes marked this will benefit the sport etc. Should work like that.
-
All these mid life crisis people, if they are not in a Scoobie or similar they are in a Japanese double cab (good for nothing) pick up. Whoops
Tidy Mk2 Escort pilot by the way.....
-
I am sure a few bikes were trashed before they got as good as they are. VERY GOOD though. Nice one

Good topic OTF, do you need 2 clubs locally, maybe those who can be bothered can merge ?? Maybe that is the way to go ? I opted out of club activity locally for personal reasons for a while. It took the forming of a club a couple of years ago to wake up another "local" club that had been near deaths door for a long time to smell the coffee and due to the hard work of a couple of people have now earned a good name in the trials world. Read Rappers topic and WVAC have a good press. I am not a member as I am busy with other things, but I ride the trials they put on when I can. Possibly in the future less clubs covering a wider area maybe. Trouble is when it comes to the sh** end of the stick it is the same old same old and some of the kids out there will wonder what has happened one day when they need to travel further and further etc.
-
As stated earlier I have still got the Amal throttle on mine and it seems a bit firey, took it for a MOT today so had a chance to try it and I dont know whether the throttle is fast or slow, my Scorpa 125 seems sedate compared to the Seeley. Any ideas to tame it?? Thanks
