  1. You mean Heinz "Crasher" Kinigradner, who couldn't hang on to a 4s?
  2. Who was looking for the aluminum inner tank for a 348/349 (UK model)? e-bay
  3. Oh dear. Just when wunderkind seemed have grown up...
  4. To be honest Ish, I'm not at all surprised by the present indoor results and, to my 5c down, I reckon that Raga's got the outdoor pinned too and that's the one that sells bikes. IMO Gas Gas are playing the overlap between the 2S and 4S rule rather well. Wait until Montesa/Honda have committed and hit 'em with a proven package. Montesa are a loss leader for Honda but a few years without a championship for Gas Gas can cost them dear. Regarding your statement about less sponsored riders and teams. I agree. Lets get back to W/C rounds with 100 entries. If you reckon you're up to it give it a bash (just sign the indemnity first!). I've watched MX go from a nice sport with some really great guys involved to one where you're laughed out of the pits if you're not wearing the right sneakers. Image is nothing it's results that count.
  5. That's a bit rich coming from somebody who at the Scottish had "heard a rumour about Gas Gas' imminent demise". Other than that I reckon, considering GG re-investmentment in the off-road sport that things are pretty tight.
  6. Big John's posh & owns lots of nice bikes. Big John "Lord Montague"?
  7. Outwith?? Clearly I can't keep up with contemporary legalese
  8. Hey Bigfoot, Sheesh talk about "grippy" (actually I know otherwise). Did that "essay" help? Reason I didn't post the whole article here was copyrights and the like. TFT
  9. Not surprising considering the size of your family
  10. In this respect, what's a "yolk"? Surely you mean yoke?
  11. John, read your home mail. There's something there that might be to Brodie's advantage. TFT

    Four Stroke

Shouldn't that be cidering round trials country?
  13. John, The first trial was the Scott, which Alfred Scott created to prove the reliability of the motorcycles which bore his name. I think the first Scott was held in 1913 (try the Richmond site for details). I don't reckon that will cover 2-5 mins but it does prove that being anal has it's advantages TFT

    Sherco Four Stroke

I see the price is out in Aus. Carly?
  15. Patrick got the send off he would have wanted. Service at two on Sat. Crept in at 9 that evening to a slightly frosty reception. Good thing my wife liked him (in spite of his bad influence) and understood why I was a little under the weather.
  16. Heard this morning that a really good mate of mine from enduros was killed in a car crash last night. Hell we had some fun together. Godspeed Patrick
  17. I recently read Mansells "autobiography" (didn't know he could write), until then I was not a Mansell fan, nor am I one now but I do have more time for him. Previously I lost respect for him at the Aus GP where he through a tyre. In the book he reckons not his fault, and blamed Williams who reckoned his tyres would last. When does self-confidence become arrogance? Jeez, beginner to black belt in karate in a year! Sufficient skill to be a golf pro. I reckon, in his case, it's just supreme self confidence. Mansell knows all about self-sacrifice too. Back to the subject: Why can't the US/Aus/SA/NZ etc produce a W/C? Simple you must ride at that level from as early as possible. That means moving to Europe, riding with the Lampkins and so on. Spain has the right idea using Jordi as mentor and throwing the good prospects at the w/c early. None of this namby pamby junior world championships for Toni Bou. Straight in at the deep end. Money? Look at Shane Watts in enduros. Went to Europe, ate raw spagetti and slept under the team van. That's determination, something Doug's got in spades. My 2c worth.
  18. Could use a proximity detector!
  19. Dunno 'bout you chaps but I reckon that sherpa would look a lot better with black aluminum castings. Another, partial, restoration here
  20. Never mind that, take a note of the name and ask Horacio for his address.
  21. Belongs to both Pre-65 and Twinshock this: BJ: Have you seen the HT3 that some chap in France owns? Duckwizard: Nice Cagiva (Merlin) there too. Lotsa 123's see: Good stuff
  22. Which year 349? If it's an '80 leave it alone.
