  1. Carpet tile spray adhesive in a can is perfect for the job.Cheap to buy from most DIY shops. Swill some turps in the grips then empty out and slide them on. Never move once allowed to dry for a few hours.
  2. 145 main jet and 27.5 pilot. Standard ones are 150 and 30 if memory serves me correctly. Give Lampkins a ring, only just over
  3. My 04 rev 3 now has boyeson reeds and re-jetted carb. It is so much better. hard to stall, more responsive at low revs and smoother at high revs. Probably the best
  4. If you don't want to cut a "V" in the casing just drill a small hole at the bottom and that will let the water out.
  5. Cut out the coffee, stay in night before the trial drinking water, drink lots during trial and then if you still get a headache you can rule them out, Simple!!

    Sparks Plugs

Got myself an iridium one and tried it out today, can't say the bike ran any different but then there was nothing wrong with the way it ran before so hard to tell
  7. I suppose in the scale of things they are not that expensive, I will buy one soon but it is always the way that I buy something then the day after see one for sale at half the price. I think they call it sods law
  8. Been watching out for a 2nd hand scissor lift sump type lift but they don't seem to come up on ebay, if anyone knows where they can be sourced cheaper than the new price I'd like to know as
  9. I added my bike onto contents insurance for
  10. There is a big difference, unless you are a very good rider (which I am not) I would suggest a 250 will be more than adequate.

    Sparks Plugs

Anyone tried one of these? Meant to be good but only according to the person selling them. Iridium Spark Plug
  13. I have enquired about the Repsol ones and am waiting for a reply back from Steve, do they fit earlier models ok? Got some other decals off him and they are good quality and take some rubbing off even with my riding

    Sparks Plugs

Well almost..... Are the BPR5ES or BPR7ES better suited for the Rev 3?

    Sparks Plugs

Thanks folks, that has fully answered my question

    Sparks Plugs

Can someone shed some light as to what the references actually mean on spark plugs. I have got a Champion N7YCC in my Rev 3 currently but got a new spare plug which is a NGK BP5ES that I was going to put in at some point. What is best suited for the bike and is there a big difference between them, really?
  18. The Steve Saunders repsol/SXS fork stickers are less than a tenner, look great and are excellent for protecting the forks from scratches and knocks. They are thick motocross style decals and the glue is awesome. A good investment I'd say. You might want to buy the plastic fork protectors but they are not as cheap.
  19. What is the best stuff to clean a chain in? Am using Castrol Chain Wax at the mo which seems to make everything in the land stick to it so need to get rid of it all. The Castrol stuff also looks a bit s**t as it dries white . Looked through topic that discussed using WD40 but it drifted onto chains snapping and no conclusion was made to say if WD40 was as good as chain oil / wax or not. Anyhow I am drifting off topic now , I know some people use petrol to clean chains but wondered if there was any wonder product that got them really clean, like muck off for chains??

    Rev 3 Gearbox Oil

I was thinking of every 6 so am in the right ballpark. 6 outings takes me to the lower end of the hours category so should be fine if I stick with that rule.

    Rev 3 Gearbox Oil

I know manuals give info on how often to change gear oil but wondered what the general opinion was on how often it should be changed for those who have or have had these bikes.
  22. Less than 3p per day to access a huge database of information and help, I'd say that was good value!
  23. A work mate once borrowed a trailer to take some spare top soil home from the site we were working on, he lost a wheel on the dual carriageway so the next day I went round every scrap yard in Lancashire trying to get a replacement for him but couldn't find one! As scorpa 3 says why mess about when you can get new ones just as cheap as the old mini wheels which fetch alot of money now.
  24. I only did it recently as my insurance premium was up for renewal so I thought I would enquire but expected them to say now. I was primarily interested in theft from garage but talking about it has prompted me ask them on Monday exactly where it is covered for as it could be that it is just insured whilst in my garage rather than away from the home.
