  1. If your tank has two fuel taps fitted, one on each side. You have a tank from an early Pursang like this! Or if you mean the two outlets at the front. They are for a link pipe like this one on mine.
  2. I found that using a cold chisel and hammer, trying to drive the chisel under the bearing equally from one side and then the other worked. if you do damage the dust plate, It's not the end of the world as Bultaco UK stock them. http://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/bottom-steering-bearing-dust-plate-sherpa-pursang-2/
  3. Hi Dave, It was good to meet you even if only briefly in the section queues. Sounds like you did very well on 28, our best lap we dropped 19. But we were taking fives on three sections. Two were just to tight for the outfit and Debbie didn't fancy section 3. So I wasn't going to force her. All in all we had a great weekend, made some new friends and we will definitely try to ride with the Dabbers Trials club again.
  4. Give Falcon Shocks a try. http://www.falconshockabsorbers.co.uk/fcontact.htm

    Sprockets

Talon engineering here in the UK are great. made me a 60 tooth Yes SIXTY Tooth 520 sprocket for my Sherpa Model 49 as I pull a sidecar with it. http://www.talon-eng.co.uk/product_category/sprockets/
  7. Gutted for you Pete, I'll do what I can to spread the word. I hope you get them back Paul.
  8. A friend did lend me a set of gray fenders that he had got for his Honda. Personally I thought they looked a bit to dark. They where close enough to look mismatched and not different enough to look deliberate.
  9. Stuart, If your down to Poles wood with your lad I will see you there. The wife and I are having our fist serious outing on our Beta outfit. I know we must be mad!
  10. Hi Stuart, I like the green of your Model 198 and I see your just down the road from me! If you get a chance pop up to a Norfolk & Suffolk Junior Mcc trial. We have a good selection of twin shocks attending our trials. For a bit of a change I fitted a Kit Campeon tank/seat unit to my M49 So she now looks like this.
  11. Hi yes this one is mine, The fenders are from Bultaco UK, the front fender brackets/stays are from Sammy Miller products. The paint scheme isn't that hard to do, just spray it silver first then mask up and paint red. Pin stripe is vinyl and then coat with clear.
  12. Flat black will look absolute SH-T after your first time out in any mud. Absolutely impossible to get totally clean and will always hold on to the dirt. The Model 49 is one of the best and most unique looking of the Sherpa's. Go Stock!
  13. I would suggest that you first check your connections. These lanyards work in the same way as the old kill switches. I.E. by shorting out the low tension side if the ignition. If you don't have good clean connections they just don't work.
  14. First and MOST important thing!!! is the vendor the rightful owner/have title to the bike! worst thing in the world is paying out for a bike that turns out to be stolen. You will/could lose the bike and any moneys paid out! After that check the frame/swing arm for cracks, engine for nasty noises and the wheels are straight and spin OK. (wheel bearings are something that often gets neglected on a trials bike and they are a bit more expensive on an evo) Also swing arm and linkage bearings need re-greasing regularly and again if worn out will cost around £150.00 to replace including the top hat bushings and seals. Just keep toting up the cost of replacing anything that needs replacing and use it to negotiate the price. and let your head rule your hart.
  15. Hi Alan, Welcome to the forum and the mad world of trials Hope to see you at a trial again soon
  16. If the bike has been on its side the carb can flood. the flow of fuel into the carb bowl is controlled by the float, when the bike is on its side the float can't float and so fuel can flood in. Try holding the throttle fully open when you are kicking it over.
  17. It's not just in trials that Honda went 4 stroke! Honda made the step a few years back to go all 4 stroke. They don't even make a 2 stroke outboard or weed whacker now.
  18. I think the start of your second sentence answers your question. "It starts and runs perfectly!" So leave it alone and just enjoy what's got to be the most reliable trials bike ever built.
  19. 16th March is the date of the next trial within the Eastern Centre to cater for sidecars. The Norfolk & Suffolk Junior Mcc will be holding the first round of there club championship at Hill House Farm, Gt Ellingham, Norfolk, NR17 1AQ. four routes will be laid out to suit all ability's for the Solo's with Sidecars on Two routes. One being dead easy to encourage new/beginner crews. Sign on from 09:30 am for a 10:30 start. Entry fee for sidecars is £18.00, Entry's close "AT START"
  20. If I understand this post from Fujinami's face book page, the Repsol Montesa trials team will be becoming the Repsol Honda trials team. Has there been anything from the team yet? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Takahisa-Fujinami/1395044754067774 トライアル世界選手権(WCT)には、これまで「レプソル・モンテッサ・ホンダ」として参戦活動を継続してきましたが、今シーズンから「レプソル・ホンダ・チーム(Repsol Honda Team)」としてワークス体制で臨みます。 Trial World Championship in (WCT), so far has continued to war activities as "Repsol Montesa Honda", but deal with them in Works system "Repsol Honda team (Repsol Honda Team)" as from this season. Machine, the introduction of four-stroke engine equipped with a "COTA 4RT". Riders will compete in the two systems and Tony Bow of 7 years in a row champion, Takahisa Fujinami of the Japanese rider only. To build a rock-solid regime in WCT This will aim to acquire a champion.
  21. I have a Gas Gas one fitted to my Evo outfit, much more flexible and I think the metal mount/brace dose a better job of keeping the forks straight

    Marking!

If you had both feet on the ground and they were behind the machine that is a "dismount" and so a five. ACU, TSR 22, Definitions,d, Very easy to do when pushing a bike up hill!
  24. If he is any thing like my own son (now 15 years old) he would of grown six inches by the time the summer is here. Go for the 125, My lad started on his at 13 years old and was a wee slip of a lad back then.
