  1. Yes they should Phil
  2. I watch him doing things that nearly defy gravity and sometimes wonder if we maybe have reached the 'Concorde' moment of trials riding . Does anyone agree ? Phil

  11. Don't forget to also check the rear suspension linkage bearings. Can get very costly if everything needs changing !!!! Phil

Is it running at all? When my sons sherco stopped it turned out to be the stator and it wouldn't run at all . No spark, nothing !! Phil
  13. What makes these people honestly think that by making these LEGAL roads unpassable to motor vehicles , that the dirty horrible motorcyclist that 50% are illegal ( according to his process of gathering evidence ) will just go away beggars belief !! They have got illegal riders now so they will just have more if they get there way ! Phil
  14. I am about to replace the suspension bearings again on my sons Cabby. Now , when I have done them in the past, there has always been a little bit of play left when all the bearings and spacers have been replaced . I have just checked the bolts that hold it all together and found a lot of play between the bolts and the spacers . Would anybody know if this is normal or should I replace these bolts as well ? Any advice please Phil
  15. Good stuff, but i bet when he falls off he doesn't do it with the same style and artistry that i do !!

If that is the brown wire then that is it !!I do remember Chris , at splatshop , saying pretty much the same thing Phil

We've now got a spark !! It lives !! It breathes !! Can't praise Chris at splatshop enough . Couldn't have been anymore helpful. Will defineately use him again !! Oh and if anybodys interested , it was the stator and I wouldn't have found out without Chris Phil

Thanks for the advice, but I am already in contact with Chris at splatshop. As you say ,he is a very helpful guy . I've just got to get my sons bike over to Chesterfield to be checked .Apparently a cdi unit can't be checked , so the only thing to do is change it and see if it works ! Its not as far as you would have to travel if you had to get there, but its far enough !!! Regards Phil

Is there any chance you could provide a link or similar to this. I've done a search for this and can't find anything Thanks Phil
  20. pistonbroke replied to pistonbroke's topic in Sherco
Sorry , I should have said . No there isn't any spark at the plug, ive checked the plug in my bike and it works. I've also disconnected the kill switch, also no joy. I can't try my cdi because it appears to be different , its also got two stage mapping as well and with my sherco being that old it runs on steam power I can't change the parts over to check them !! Regards Phil

My sons 2007 cabby died on Sunday.Basically , queuing up for a section it just cut out and hasn't started since. Checked the obvious , plug ,loose connection etc and at the moment I have drawn a blank. I've been told that it will more than likely be either the cdi unit or the stator . Is there any way to check these without changing them and hoping for the best ? Any advice will gratefully accepted, but please , electrics has never been my forte, mechanics no problem but electrics yuk !!So please try to keep it simple Thanks in advance Phil
  22. Hands up all those people that just knew that swimming pool exit was going to end in tears !!! Its also given me some ideas for the next charity trial !! Phil
  23. Can you expand on this comment . What was the problem with the policy, if you don't mind me asking ? Phil
  24. Can somebody please explain to me how stopping a legimate trials club from using land will stop ' Illegal Riding ' . In fact I would go as far to say that the opposite may even work better ! Less land to ride on means more illegal riding ! Do these people who come out with these ideas about bans and such like , really believe that the illegal riders will now think ' oh this mine has now closed so i'll go and ride somewhere else ' I don't think so do you ? Phil
  25. Crank seals ?
