I am due to do my 250 evo fork seals. Could the taper not be tapped down with a broom handle or similar to get it to hold. I don't have access to power tools only hand tools, so i am looking for an easy way to fix before I get the problem !!
Any advice is needed
Thanks

I have to a agree with 0007 because it does sound , by the desciption , that it is running weak . Start with the carb. Strip it down and clean THOROUGHLY . I had a similar problem and that was the problem and it took an air line to clear it !!

No just the cover to expose the flywheel and then a liberal coating all around with WD 40 or similar.

You've bought a brilliant bike !!
Before I bought my 2010, my mate descibed it as the closest thing to cheating as you will find !! It's like riding a push bike !!
As far as maintenance goes, regular oil changes and as has been said previously, grease swing arm and linkage bearings now, because they probably haven't been done, unless you know otherwise . After washing I always take the cover off the alternator and spray with WD 40 just for piece of mind .
Enjoy !!

Both me and my son have trials bikes. Both bikes get the filters cleaned and filter oiled EVERY weekend. I have just bought a new aerosol of filter oil , it cost about a tenner !! This is the first one I've bought in over 12 months !! I don't think cost is an issue for the correct stuff.

I know blokes that pay good money, at certain places , to dress like that but I think they trawl different forums !!!

Some very good advice has already been given but just one final note .
You don't need a 45 ft motorhome or a spare bike and another spare engine ( that was rebuilt by Steffen Everts works mechanic ) and a blonde haired, blue eyed 18 year old model !!
Trust me, you'll love it !!
P.S. I was only joking about the model ! She can come along so long as she observes a section !!

I have a 2010 evo and I need a side stand. I know of a side stand for a 2009 evo but apparently this won't fit . Does anybody know it this is correct ?

The very same thing happened to my Beta. I replaced the bearings with bearings from a local bearings supplier. These lasted for TWO LAPS of my next trial. I then changed them again with a good quality bearing that cost around five times as much and have not had any trouble since, although I do check them regularly because I dont want to get stuck in the middle of a moor somewhere !!
Good quality bearings is the secret here

Gladly signed as I think anybody on here would, but I would like to point out that it is possible to set up a monthly donation by direct debit with the air ambulance service. It doesn't have to be a lot, any amount and I know they would be gratefull . One day you just might need it !!

A small bottle of 2 stroke to a full tank of diesel is supposed to be good for a diesel engine !!
