My sentiments exactly. Price rises probably due to inevitable inflation spike (Stagflation), economies are gradually going into reverse & necessary price hikes due to inflation due to high oil and metal prices all add up to a waste of money at a time that I at least can ill afford to waste (would like to keep my house really). Add to that the fact that these bikes are made in relative small numbers so need to pay for themselves & you have all the ingredients for a product that costs more than it's worth, especially when you consider that its going to be thrown all over the place and end up upside down, gradually but quickly look tatty & need maintainance which is also expensive when it arives in its most dredded form. I know it doesn't quite compare but you can buy a decent car (which is a neccessity to get to work) for this price...lets face it this is a toy...I would like to say it's worth it, but it's not to me...someone else might say differently for themselves & if you do good for you I aint criticising you.
What did you say they cost ...I was gonna say ...an English, Irishman & a Scotsman walk into a pup...etc..but it can't compete with, Did you hear about the Montesa Cota 4RT...
-
I was waiting to hear confirmed prices, I'll be looking else where for my 09 bike, they are good bikes but for the sort of bike that gets thrown all over obsacles as it should be I don't think I'll be buying one now i know the price, basically its over my budget but if you have the money i don't blame you, but who has the money in this climate, it's not exactly a life neccessity is it...or is it? lol.
-
Each to his own, but considering balance and judgement are the key skills involved it seems funny to mix it half way through the day. I would have thought afterwards would be more rewarding...good things come to those who wait lol
-
I've said it before and i'll say it again. There was never a problem in burning fossil fuels until the planet slowly multiplied its population until it IS six times what it can sustain. Anyway I don't want to bang on about politics i am sure no one is interested until its all too late (which it is now). Electric bikes....????I'd rather ride a mountain bike....when that day arives i'm throwing it all in....but i'm sure some will say i am negative and green is the future...there is no future unless the planet has at least -4 times its population on it.
-
Seriously considering one over an 09 Montesa if the price is better. I don't like the price of the 09 4RT from what I've been hearing. I like both 2T & 4T so am happy to go either way. I like the Scorpa 2T over all the others because the price is acceptable beings as the quality is about the best for its other 2T rivals IMHO).

It will be Stolen without a doubt.

Very true, 1 of these is enough to hot up the situation. Trials bikes can be discreet. Don't tell em;
but to directly respond to the question. It's awkward really because I am a believer in being up front honest and respectful. If it is a beauty spot, I would ask first, a small stream with its own little eco system can become damaged easily but if its something like a quarry or brown field I would just ride it. You know, there are allot of greedy *******s out there who fence of land and put up a private sign when its not really theres. Pikeys near me have laid claim to a mile or so sqare of nice land and have fenced it up and put horses on it, now they try and intimidate anyone who goes near it & the local council in Thurrock have ignored it, someday in a few years it will be legally theirs to claim. What gets me everytime is a small bike on a piece of unused land apparently offends but no one objects when another housing estate for a load of useless parasites is built on it, figure that out.

No you are missing the point. Who really said he's trying to make it as fast as a hyabusa, Duh get rael mate it was an extreme analogy to push a point...ever heard of ANALOGY. He said he was not using it for trail or trials & wants to make it fast for the street. no ones cussing the guy, I'm trying to offer him some advice as he asked. sure use it for the street no ones saying he cant but to be helpful it is not the best bike for it.
Lee has already made some obvious and helpful comments & I am saying the street wont compliment this kind of bike and what he's describing he wants to do with it wont feel very good on this bike. If you want to tell him it will be good, well that isn't being very honest or helpful get a bike for the job.
And to the 26incher...I am not being rude mate or patronising, you might already know all this & if you want to continue thats your decision, but its a useless street bike however you gear it, Iv'e had two myself and scores of road bikes of all sizes to give you an honest opinion.
Keep it for the trail/trial etc (even road legal trail) its a good little bike for that and far more enjoyable & look at road bikes, honestly a CG125 is faster in that environment and feels right for what it does or an dual purpose or enduro bike if you want to bring the off road look to the street. goodluck anyway.
-
Lee, yes off road I agree but if you read his post he doesnt want to use it off road as a trail or trial bike...he wants to use it on the street...hence hyabusa analogy, even a CG125 would be a better street bike.

No I don't like it in all black either but black with white fenders looks far far far better. I didnt like red and black either. ts gotta be crisp white for me, but you have to ride whats available don't you at the end of the day.

LOL, thanks for the vote in advance HAM2...Prime minister, heh heh. On all those tax fiddles, I could afford all sorts of Trials bikes. I'd have an aircraft hanger full of them. When I am booted out I could hide away amongst the eurocrats in Brussels, do nothing but tweek the human rights bill & when I don't have my nose in the trough, discuss for the next 10 years the idea of accepting the WHOLE WORLD into the EU. I'd rather be wrong than right on this one but population trends speak for themselves. Demographically wales is less populated in proportion to England & while I agree with you bikespace as far as land availability in your part of the country, it wont necessarily always be the case for a number of reasons even discounting population for the short term future; legislations from DEFRA & NERC have had a damaging effect on greenlaning and enduro. On the bright side and there is one;if landowners and organised clubs can organise land and secure it for this purpose as well as make it pay for itself that would be a start.
Also I know the manurfacturers can not be held responsible for doing this but it would be helpfull if the industry as a collective did more to advertise and promote Trials to keep a stream of new and young riders.
Although I have misgivings politically on constant GROWTH, in the west (and most of the East too now of course) we trade globally within the same framework (free market economy) which needs to forever expand and grow....hence world population growth that will inevitablly one day have to give way to misery, and it will be misery....but ironically Trials needs to finance itself and needs to survive among the market forces too, so it too must advertise and sustain itself via the same means.....oh we could go on about this for weeks,...peaks and troughs....rise and fall....a world war would solve the problem for another 60-70 years though....
.....no of course I don't endorse that (mind you if you take a close look at current affairs, the ingedients are all there) last party to annoy Russia is a sissy...LOL.

Sadly i think you are right. there is practically nowhere left to ride without having to do an event in England. Global warming is a joke, it's there yes undeniably but its a natural occurance perhaps made slightly worse by emmissions. There was never anything wrong burning fossil fuel but the worlds population is probabbly as much as 9 times more than the planet can sustain so burning fossil fuel on that scale is going to cause a number of problems yes. There is nowhere in the West left truely wild as its either built on or artificially proccured & theres nowhere to ride because theres simply no room left to allow for it. Growth Growth Growth, both economic and population wise it cant go on for ever without grim consequences, Growth is an artifical term politically & it is not always good, but I digress.
I often wonder how long Trials will go on for, its a harmless healthy sport. As you say lets all stay in our overpriced houses and recycle crap, (usually on the TV), I wonder how long the manurfacturers will continue but then again I would have thought it in their own interests too to invest in land and support clubs. I realise that this would be unrealistic to fund with their profit margins but if something isnt done in the future to secure land to use it is going to be good buy to off road sport. Personally I prefer outdoor trials to arena style so if it goes so will I to take up recycling shoelaces or some other stimulating hobby.

Quality & I like the Black with white plastics

Just disconnect the ignition key barrel loom attatchment then? Do I need to re-earth anywhere?
-
I have a honda TLR200. I have removed the rear and front lights and battery but I want to also remove the ignition barrel & therefore the rest of the wiring loom from around the headstock so I can fit a number board where the headlight was. If I remove the wiring loom which is also earthed & connects to the coil wiring will it still run or will there be a short somewhere. Obviously CDI & coil wiring stays untouched but Can I also remove the regulator as is this only to regulate current to the lighting to stop bulbs blowing?
If anyone has done this could you advise me please, thanks.
-
actually i was expecting a jet engine
-
Do you think so???? Maybe the Rev3 will have a Rev 3 motor too
-
Does anyone know or have a rough idea of how long we will need to wait untill we can get a look at the 2009 Scorpa SY250 2 stroke?
-
Welcome back then, age is no issue as long as you are happy to continue
-
After looking, you're dead right Munch, it is indeed. I think I will transport a bike from the UK instead.
-
Thanks Kinell, thats a useful link.

Thanks very much Tim, I will look into it. I don't know if the prices will be cheaper in France or not but if they are that will be a huge bonus. I will investigate but my main problem is that my French language is not very good yet, but I am working on it. I will have to rely on a Frenchman speaking a bit of English which embarrasses me somewhat as I know they tend not to like it & who can blame them. Much appreciated though & thanks again.
