  2. http://cqzhengao.en.made-in-china.com/product/PvrEzmuKsHcl/China-New-Motocross-off-Road-Dirt-Bike-Gasgas-2015-for-Trials-and-Enduro.html I inquired about this bike and this was the response. Regarding dirt bike gasgas 2015, this is a bike made in China, and here comes the details: 1. Price: Please check the attached quotation sheet for price, payment, delivery, sales points and specifications. And gasgas 2015 is a new model which is unique in China, and it is very popular in trials and enduro for climbing games. The price is EXW price, and shipping cost is not included. Please let me know your order quantity and destination port in US, so that we will check shipping cost. Thanks. 2. Pictures: More pictures will be sent if you need. Thanks. 3. Warranty: 1% spare parts for free, and warranty 1 year. And the supply of spare parts is not less than 5 years. Thanks. The color of motorcycle will be never changed by sunshine or raining in 3 years. 4. Parts: All the spare parts are made in China, but we choose the best supplier for all the parts, so the quality is guaranteed. Thanks. 6. Any other question, please feel free to contact us.Thanks. Have a nice day! Best regards Herry Shao Many thanks for your e-mail, but sorry for late response due to weekend. The difference is: all the parts we used is made in China, but the structure is the same to gasgas original ones. As the technical parameter shows, we use Zongshen 4-stroke engine, not 2-stroke engine. In China 2-stroke engine is forbidden to be produced due to environmental protection. Thanks. Actually for this model, we are still in developing status. We will finish the first sample on May, 2015, so we do not have detailed photos, and if you want to buy sample, you have to wait for 3 months.I am sorry, but we will push the sample developing. Thanks. Have a nice day! Best regards Herry Shao Chongqing Zhengao Machinery Co., Ltd. 3. Looking at the photos from the retrotrials.com interviews, it seems all the former top riders are doing well living in nice estates.
  4. My 07 with a ducati ignition had a fast fan speed when new and it got slower over the years. You probably don't have enough current. Hook up a 12 volt battery and compare speeds.
  5. It could be your fan is not running fast enough.
  6. There probably was a lot of pent up demand to watch a world round in the northeast by non trials riders. The Tennessee 2006 round had a huge turnout then the numbers dropped the next time and 2013 had small crowds. I heard the next one is going to be in Duluth MN in 2017 and that should have a huge turnout of spectators.
  7. If the US rounds are easy, I predict Raga will win them, mainly because Bou will be be generous in helping his friend secure the best ride next year. After the series returns to Europe, Bou will end the winning streak.

  9. Ryan Young covers hopping both wheels on his Advanced DVD. He calls them flip turns and says he only uses them for emergencies in sections because they are risky. First you should learn front wheel hops, which is the easiest, then rear wheel, then both. He doesn't cover hopping both wheels and not moving or hopping sideways because there isn't much practical use for that. If you want to go sideways, it's a lot easier to hop one wheel at a time.
  10. It doesn't concern me if the sport grows or not. What does concern me is if we can't buy new bikes and parts anymore. The focus should be on selling more bikes. One way is to get the bikes on X-Games with a new sport that judges tricks like the skateboarders, bmx, etc. They could run the event on the street skate park and add some indoor trials obstacles. It would be way more entertaining than FMX.
  11. http://www.lewisportusa.com/ 3/6/15 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT----CURRENT STATUS AT GAS GAS / OSSA June 2nd , 2015 Having just returned from a whirlwind visit to Spain we thought we would update everyone on the current GAS GAS / OSSA situation as we understand it. One thing was very clear to us and that is that NO one at this point really knows what the final outcome of the situation will be, however there is a lot of speculation from a LOT of different people which leads to the same conclusions. Gas Gas is now officially in Chapter 11 bankruptcy as of May the 18th with what appears to be a consolidated debt exceeding 45 million Euro !! (this figure seems to be changing on a weekly basis !!) The court has appointed a Trustee who will (as early as this week) begin the process of analyzing the accounting records, employee contracts, supplier debts etc. This could be a fairly lengthy process with some people hoping it would take a few months and others believing it could take six months or more !!. Meanwhile at the factory the doors are somewhat open and a few people are still working as far as Spare Parts supplies and some office staff . The majority of people we spoke to believe as we do that when the time is right a new buyer of the company will emerge. Apparently they are already lining up and once the Court Trustee has figured out the situation the process of selling the business and assets would begin. For the remaining employees of the company, many are hoping this is sooner than later. Gas Gas / OSSA Importers around the world have now been without bikes for over 5 months and for most this will have had a negative financial impact and just as we have, will have to make changes to “weather the storm”. The same can be said for the hundreds of suppliers around Spain and Europe who also supplied parts to Gas Gas who could very well be owed money but will also see a reduction in their overall business sales. We also learned last week that all of the Race team support was cut off. This was a big blow for the Enduro Teams as well as the Trials Teams including Adam Raga who is now hoping to finish the current WTC as a privateer with the help of individual importers. Obviously this lack of factory support / incentives etc. eventually trickles down to many, many riders of all levels because of the cut backs national and local dealers will be making. Sixteen months ago OSSA merged with Gas Gas. At the time the consolidation of these two brands seemed to make sense. OSSA had outgrown their production facility and needed a larger more organized production and administration structure to meet the growing demand, some government funding was also made available if both companies merged and worked together. Now OSSA is aggressively seeking a legal way to remove itself from the Gas Gas situation, however this would also have to be reviewed and approved by the Trustee. Again, many opinions differ as to when and if this may happen with some people saying a few months and others saying much longer. As with Gas Gas we remain positive that eventually OSSA will produce bikes again. As the OSSA USA importer we remain committed to providing service to the customers who decided that OSSA was the best choice for them. Whilst we were in the factory last week we went around spares dept as well as all of the production line and picked out a substantial quantity of spare parts which we should be receiving in the next few weeks. When we combine this new shipment with the large amount of spares we already stock we believe this will sustain us for a prolonged period of time as we wait for more news. We are trying to stay positive during these awkward times and again would like to thank all of our Lewisport USA and OSSA USA customers for your continued support and if you need anything please do not hesitate to call/ email us !!! 12. Short Raga interview translated from Spanish. https://soymotor.wordpress.com/2015/05/27/adam-raga-una-situacion-dificil/ It seems that had to be when things are but for one of the best drivers ever trial, 6 times World Champion of the specialty (4 indoor-2 outdoor), Adam Raga, when has a media impact on reference sports media, Marca, As, Mundo Deportivo, etc ... and not by their achievements, their victories, their exploits and their world titles. Yes, Adam Raga, a great athlete and a good friend is in a really difficult situation to remain competitive due to the lockout and suspension of payments of brand-factory which has been faithful throughout his career, Gas Gas. So I do not give a sh*t and cut my best to know the subject is pick up the phone, call and ask himself Adam Raga. Leaving aside their responses, the tone of his voice, the pauses between what was telling me, denoted a great sadness, a sadness in someone who is always cheerful, which is always a joke, which is always active and enthusiastic in their projects and also the sadness invaded me as I listened to his words and impressions. We spoke little, did not want to be too long hung on the phone with him this weekend there Championships race. World in the Czech Republic and Adam was preparing to leave and was not necessary to entertain too. SoyMotor: Hi Adam, what does such? Adam Raga: Well ... SM: How are you affected by this suspension of payments of Gas Gas? AR: It's complicated. A big problem and leave you lying in the middle of a season and canceling all. SM: And Adam Raga, how it has affected you personally? AR: Very f**ked up, I feel cheated, we have actually cheated me. The Generalitat, which is heavily involved in the project GG and investors when in August last year renewed for three more seasons, with better pay and other benefits, they knew the situation of the company and said nothing, just that everything it would solve and would not have problems. I feel cheated and very bad. SM: How do you face the rest of the season, World-National trial? AR: Working with the team but not the GG team, but the team ADAM RAGA, with my people and preparing the best possible challenge facing the remainder of the season in this way. With the material at my disposal and pulling forward. SM: Have you raised finish the season as a privateer GG or have sought alternative? AR: Yes, I have no choice. Besides trying to change bike now it would be counterproductive for me as it would not be competitive with a bike which I'm not molded. SM: . This weekend we run worldwide in the Czech Rep, Will Adam Raga there to try to get the win? AR: Yes, I will and also want to thank the RFME carrying my skis and equipment on the truck Fede so that I have a great help in this respect and so I can run. SM: ? And for next year AR: For next year see offers that may come, stick with my personal sponsors and to meet again some time with all the guarantees. SM: Thanks Adam and luck in this ordeal that you are going through. AR: Thank you Phil. The conversation was short, no more than five minutes, but in it, the way it was Adam to speak, to express themselves, to tell you the things you were going to realize that was not right, that he felt cheated, as well said - and helpless in a situation that if it has been raised as it really was from the beginning, sure I would not be in this situation. Gas Gas Shareholders of Catalonia, between each other "the house without sweeping" as in this case, a great person, a World Champion a proverb says, and someone with his figure, his charisma and his triumphs is a value for the company to operate, it is even more known and carries the name of Gas Gas to the ends of the biker world in addition to sell more motorcycles champions of the World, is the first victim of a series of events that have been dragging on for time and have not wanted or known how to solve in time to avoid what for many was "an open secret" and who has dragged the whole social structure of the company leaving many families on the street. Duro is the professional pilots of the mark and hard so their employees. A Adam I wish you all the luck in the world to find the funding needed to finish this season with guarantees so they can fight for the World title and National in a season that will be for the brave pilot Ulldecona very, very hard and surely try finish in the best way possible. Currently he is leader of the National and in fourth place 12 points behind Toni Bou, but certainly not cease in its efforts to re-proclaimed champion of Spain and the World, which has been so close in the last two seasons. The future of Adam see it with hope, a pilot with his resume and the way it is, that is a serious candidate for the title in tests in which it participates and certainly at the end of the season will not be short "brides" to take over its services, but until then, Adam faces a tough challenge that will bring to "note".
  13. There is recent info on the GG workers Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/rltgasgas The latest photo shows a banner in front of the factory that says "this directive cannot produce". Some info they shared was an April 15th deadline for management to come to an agreement with the workers and and a decision by the end of the month on whether the factory will start producing again. Other info of note is Marzochhi has stopped production. http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/enduro21/item/2687-marzocchi-to-cease-production http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/component/k2/item/2652-one-third-of-gas-gas-workforce-for-chopping-block
  14. I replaced my straight hoses with a heater hose which you can get at an auto parts store. My stock snap on clamps started leaking so I replaced them with hose clamps.
  15. Israeli investor, not Iranian. The new CEO is also Israeli.
  16. The GG & Ossa workers just put up a Facebook community page called "Gas Gas is intended to produce and not die" https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gas-Gas-vol-produ%C3%AFr-i-no-morir/937546529611742 The sticking point now is the shareholders reluctance to inject capital. A Spanish blog reported the workers were threatening to strike for lost wages. The worker's logo looks like it's ready to be printed on picket signs.
  17. What if you made it with a 3-D printer and shared the file so others could make it? Then people can pick their own color. You would need have someone do a 3-D scan of the fixed original then print a new one. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:76462
  18. Out of curiosity, I contacted Mr. Shao and he and the company seems legit although I have no intention of buying one. I told him I have agents in China ready to take delivery and handle shipping. He responded that the bikes are still in development. The Chinese are not accurate with their listings but he responded to my questions and I believe his company does make the frames for Gas Gas Pros. Here is part of his response: The difference is: all the parts we used is made in China, but the structure is the same to gasgas original ones. As the technical parameter shows, we use Zongshen 4-stroke engine, not 2-stroke engine. In China 2-stroke engine is forbidden to be produced due to environmental protection. Actually for this model, we are still in developing status. We will finish the first sample on May, 2015, so we do not have detailed photos, and if you want to buy sample, you have to wait for 3 months.I am sorry, but we will push the sample developing. On their company profile are factory photos and I found this one: GG Pro style frame with Zongshen motor which looks like a 4RT copy. Next generation Randonne prototype? Chinese frames and motors can be very good. It looks like they make frames for Yamaha also. Sherco, Scorpa and Beta use the same Chinese 125 4 stroke engines that Yamaha uses. I wonder if Sherco frames are made in China? They moved to the cheaper to produce tubular frames about the same time. It would be safe to assume the 2T motors are not made in China. The factory could be stuck with unpaid for Pro frames so they are planning to make and sell these all Chinese versions. Set your calendar for May for the unveiling of the all Chinese Gas Gas Pro!
  19. Are GG Pros made in China? Check this out! http://cqzhengao.en.made-in-china.com/product/bXGJuLFvCHkz/China-Mountain-Dirt-Bike-Gasgas-2014-for-Mototrial-and-Motocross.html They also take this engine that anyone can buy on Alibaba: http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?s=450839a41d596c509efde7319b42e2af&t=13440&page=15 And make this: http://www.gasgasmotos.es/en/enduro/450-ec-cami-250.html Here's the Randonne motor: http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/product-images/China-Tianda-156fmi-F28-125cc-Motorcycle-Engine-Assembley-F28-CG125--GlhbmRhY3ljbGUd-oqMxOVydSNpJ.html
  20. Removing the engine is straightforward but a hassle which is the reason I left it in and also because I'm lazy. The new models have beefier braces so I made mine stronger.
  21. Gas Gas already uses Chinese motors in their Randonne and Cami models.
  22. Here is what I did, I don't recommend it but it worked for me. I had a small lower mount crack, about a mm. I took the skid plate off, left everything else in place and welded the crack with my $99 Harbor Freight welder using a scrap piece of metal to reinforce it. It is one ugly looking weld job but it has been holding up for over a month and it cost me nothing and was a quick fix. I rebend the skid plate by bashing it with a 16lb sledgehammer. Once you start bending it back in shape, it becomes weaker and you have to bash it back into shape more regularly, like at every oil change. I'm thinking of welding some reinforcement aluminum to it and even a second layer but using a pro welder not my Harbor Freight. I remember some riders over 20 years ago who would have a second layer welded on instead of getting a new skidplate.
  23. I found an interesting write up of a Gas Gas factory 2007 tour: http://www.gasgasrider.org/GG_tour.pdf Back then, they only thing they made at the factory were 4T cylinder heads. Now they use Yamaha 4T engines for their enduros. They also don't make quads anymore.
  24. I'd like to see oil injection come back like the twinshock autolube systems that everyone took off to save weight. You get the advantage of running 100:1 in sections to 20:1 at highway speed.
  25. I think the bashplate is used as a structural part of the frame and that layer of plastic might add more stress to the motor mounts. Replacing dogbones is a lot cheaper than cases. Your bashplate looks to be in good shape with the proper curve on the bottom. I bash rocks so much it became straight and the plate was contacting the case and spilt oil makes the rubber soft. I make my own rubber pads from pieces of truck bed liner. Scraps of tires work also but not soft trials tires.
