  1. Just been told I wont be getting a pay rise.. because this year your performance has to be above average before you get anything, apparently my....Champions Change & Six Sigma were below average and so was my Makes people better category, (must think I'm a Doctor also) and to finish off the insults my Global Mindset is also below average. My beloved manager also managed to add a load of facts that were not true which were mainly due to him being incompetent. So no pay rise for me this year and I'm sure he will find another reason not to give me one next year, Oh well lets go make that Voodoo doll that looks like him, I think a hammer and six inch nails would work better than a pin.
  2. If you check through the history on this website you will find info on ty175 boost bottles, I have one fitted and would say they do improve the performance, this is what mine looks like CLICK HERE I had a friend fabricate the bottle, the pipe is 15mm chrome plumbing pipe and the inlet rubber is off a rd350.
  3. Try CLICK HERE you will probably have to phone them up as i don't think the on line orders work
  4. cylinder head nuts 15 to 18 ft lb or 2.1 to 2.5 kgf m
  5. OK, so bo drinker has convinced me that there could be enough people out there to start a revolution, I feel a song coming on, so the question is how should I start one ? any ideas? don't worry billycraig I will make sure that part of any outcome will make sure students don't have to repay student loans.
  6. Just signed it, me i will sign anything, any more protests ? just a thought but has anyone tried typing who wants to start a revolution on google, last time i did it my computer nearly crashed.
  7. Nice one, only one possible problem, what if they stick the Tax on larger cc bikes like my road bike.
  8. Hi kimpybugalugs, glad your bike is running nice. I have fitted the electronic ignition to my bike the one from HERE and I would say it was a definite improvement (I did have problems with the old system breaking down on heat) but the new system does give more power, its up to you to judge if its worth all that money as the points system is Ok if its set just right. I will say the electronic system is a just fit and forget system which is another bonus. I did think about getting hold of an electronic ignition system off another bike, perhaps something like a pit bike and trying to fit that, there is some info on the net about doing similar things and I think someone mentioned a Honda 50 ignition system, its just a thought if you have the time to play around with the bike. With regards to the 200ccc kit I do know someone who has one fitted and to be honest I don't think his bike has any more power than mine and you will probably have to mess around with the jets again to get the most out of the extra cc's. Hope this helps.
  9. Its hard to say what the problem could be but there is a friction clip on the kickstart gear which has a protruding loop section which should go into a recess in the crankcase casting, its possible this is not located correctly and could cause the problem you have mentioned.
  10. The one with the tail section is supposed to give more power,if you get the one which has the mid section only I think you will find it has the packing in this section so when its due for changing its going to be a problem. If you get the other one at least you can repack the tail section easily.

    Ty175

Thanks for the info, have you any views on the length of the shocks with regards to trying to improve the steering, I was hoping that the longer rear shock would push the back up and change the angle of the forks enough to try and stop the problem of the front end sweeping away. As a last resort I might try and alter the steering angle (cut and re-weld job) but this is a bit drastic.

    Ty175

I'm thinking of fitting some new shocks to my TY175, mainly to raise the rear a little to try and improve the steering (360mm length perhaps) has anyone got any advice on what shocks would do the job, I was thinking of perhaps Falcon.Betor,or Hagon. and I'm not sure of what the best spring would be 40 or 50lb for my 12st weight. Any advice would be appreciated.
  13. I think you will find that most of the tank transfers require a little working to get them to mould around the profile of the tank, if this is what you mean. If you just don't like the style of yours then various types come up for sale on ebay from time to time.

    Majesty Help

Boyesen reed valves do give you a bit more power, they are duel stage and the original reed stops are removed, you will probably require a new pilot jet also, one size up should do.
  15. I think what B40RT is trying to tell you is to compress the inpact wrench with a twist of the body so that when you hit it this wil remove some of the bounce that you get with this type of wrench, if your goiing to use one on the crank gear then there could be some slack between the gears that you could remove also by a slight twist of the gear. if the crank is siezed as you mention then the nut on the end of the gear will come off with a socket and wrench.
  16. If the engine wont turn with the gear removed then the bearings are seized, if it does turn then the problem could be further in the engine, perhaps the gearbox.
  17. Just an idea but remove the left hand cover to reveal the flywheel and try and move the crank by turning the flywheel, next I would drain the gearbox oil and remove the clutch cover and have a look at the gear on the end of the crank and then try and turn the flywheel checking how it mesh with the clutch gear,if the gear is removed from the end of the crank then there should be nothing to stop it turning if the crank is not seized.
  18. have you tried to turn it with the flywheel, it should move with ease, its starting to look a little more serious but its not that hard to split the engine if the bearings have had it.
  19. Was it just me, because this Christmas and the New Year was crap, nothing felt the same, the outlook on this year looks like doom and gloom ?
  20. Hi Scott, its silver smooth Hammerite, I did post this some time ago and had the P taken, but its what I have always used and matches just fine, the best thing is if you want to give your bike a quick touch up you dont need to prime it, and the paint covers very well.
  21. Your probably right bo, shock absorber, perhaps the other one was ok?
  22. Hi, if you cant find a cheap one to fit and I think M&P do them, look HERE Just thought its a mono try HERE
  23. Hi. Ebay is a good place to look for spares, there is a wheel at the moment for sale (not mine)...click HERE
  24. Hi, have you thought about doing it yourself as its not that difficult, anyway you can get the spokes from HERE or have them do the whole job, its where I bought my spokes from, just had to send them a couple of inner and outer spokes for the front and rear as samples.
  25. kimpybugalugs,I fitted the Boyesen reeds to my TY175 and had to increase the pilot jet from the 25 to 27.5, it did run with the 25 but is better with the 27.5 as the mixture screw is back out to 1,5 turns. I have got an old cigar shape miller tail pipe fitted also. The carb is one of the all important parts and if its not set just right will give you all kinds of problems, have a look on the net and you will find loads of info on how to set them up.
