Need a metal detector and shovel! Can she carry one and the kids the other? Still jealous!
-
Jes, it just will not stop easily! However, even if it had water trapped in it, not sure why it would have to run soo long before acting up! Disconnect it anyway, while the problem is active.

Percy just got back from a week in Normandy! You see, this is the type of thing I would never get the chance to do. The wife would pester me to go shopping or something, or just dump me off for the day! Very jealous!
I do not disagree with Percy's comments, as movies are just that, and meant to sell tickets for the most part, there are still certain things of historical accuracy in some that are beyond the norm. Extreme detail in many aspects like equipment, uniforms , vehicles and such. The cost incredable! The beach scenes in SPR are pretty nasty, and very possibly the best "feel" for the day represented here. Not that I would want to be there at the time.
As far as anti brit comments, I cannot recall from memory, only I do not believe the americans were chuffed by having Monty over the invasion of Normandy!
Could be wrong here, but he has been portrayed as a pompous ass! What do I know?
Funny thing, the wife was watching "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson ,yesterday, as I was in and out of the house. Makes one think back a bit! All in the times! Insane! And WAY off topic! Good war movie though!

Yes Wayne, it is a bit of a shame. I suppose most all of the WW1 Vets are gone now, with the WW2 Vets going quickly! We have a old fart at (or around) work, that recently retired for about the third time. A WW2 US Marine from the Pacific theatre. He still wears his Purple Heart with pride and he is still getting around pretty well at 85 or so years of age, has a girlfriend that likes to travel! We love him soo! He gets anything he wants!
As for WW!!? I did see a recent documentary that showed a lot of degradation of the burial sites throughout specially France, that hold many American, British and others. Seems there are many scattered about, many poorly kept. The mind reels with the thousands of graves.
Hell, man, when I was a kid in the 60's, we had drills at school just in the case someone wanted to throw a few Nukes!
Personally, I think a bit of this should extend beyond some of the basic history class in schools books. Mind you I have seen way too many war films over my life. But a few key ones well done such as Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers should be mandatory viewing and education for our teens. An essay required on both. That should fill a semister or so. God only knows, as bad as I am(ADHD) on names and dates, that would take me the year!
Done for now, cheers

Hummmmm, does sort of have the ring on a Box/CDI unit. Ony way I know is to swap one out with another. All providing everything else is in good order. Do you have any local mates with a Sherco?
I think you may be able to use one off an earlier bike without the dual map, although I cannot confirm this. Difference being the map switch wire. One other thought, be sure the grounding (earth) wire is clean and tight on the box.
These type things can be a real pain in the rear, hope that helps.
Keep us posted, cheers,
MC

Very good Perce! I love that stuff! Good find!
As a pilot I can appreciate the task, Awesome! Too much to tell here!
As a bit of a WWII history buff, this is some really good documentary!
My two uncles on mom's side were in the war, both gone now. One a radar specialist in Duxford, the other in the pacific theatre, Iwo Jima and such, and he did not like to talk much. Yet it was all a bit ingrained in me in my youth. Kids played Army, and had toy soldiers, you know!
Issue of a rifle and game hunting was their favorite task for me. As soon as I was big enough, cannot recall, maybe 8 yrs old?
Kids of this era have no idea.
Cheers,
MC

Gowd, now Dabster is pee'd !

Rode the 290 Evo back in the spring and it was a powerhouse! But been soo long since I was on a 300 Gasser I have really forgotton as a good comparison. Seems I recall the Gasser being gentler than the Beta as the revs build. The Evo just seemed to pull like a freight train through the revs. Bit too much for me, thank you. Oh very rideable though. But not a bike one wants to get a weak right wrist on when tired. About one sudden 1/4 turn burst of throttle at the wrong time on that one can put you to the moon!

Well since no late reply, thought I would add some SRV(Hindrix style),better I think , again a Texas boy, although gone.
This song is long enough to break out the "love lube" and have session that meets the music. Another classic!

He, he! This was just getting good!
Awe, nevermind, I think I recall Lance getting a trials bike sometime back, as a cross trainer. Maybe he will retire and come ride some trials with us here in Texas. I could be his minder!
Just to be there at this point is enough for most, look at Doug as example, still great!
These are some tough lot, each in their own right.

Thank you for pointing that out again Tony!
Now I am not the only one who TOLD YOU SO!

To be honest, I would not consider any of these to be the easiest bike to ride, as they are all "full on " steeds!
Much depends upon what you want and expect. The Sherco would still seem the middle ground here performance wise. If you go ride it and find it a handfull as compared to your other bike, you may want to consider a good 250 something. Mind you the Sherco can be tamed a bit, but a 2.9 is still a 2.9, gobs of power! Same with the others.
If you want a trail bike, a Scorps or Mont may be the ticket?

Know your jetting! If it came too small on the pilot jet it will be weak off the bottom.
-
If yours is an '03 and still on the factory setting, they can kick back a lot and stall when chuggin' about at 3mm.
If this is the case with yours, I would recommend you simply retard the back plate 3-4mm(counter CW) for a mid setting or 6-8mm for a mild setting.
This will eliminate a lot of unneccessary number crunching that is totally irrelitive to the feel of the bike, for you. Easily done, easily changed. Just note the factory tic mark in the back plate and go from there.
-
I was sort of hinting at that, Ron. But now with the input of the "experienced crasher" it seems a done deal unless you have the bucks for the top clamp! All the same applies to the earlier Sherco models as well I think. Another good quote from you! Good input!

My computer is running slow, yet I still did get the first part of the video of the guy on the Sherco. He is a local expert caliber rider and probably will go through a set of tires in a season on the rocks, the bike will be used but not neccessarily hurt by this type fellow, and if he has kept the majority of scratches on the bottom where they belong, and lubed things like the shock links, the bike will be fine, and without the gasser quirks on that model.
I am a bit qurious about the Works Perf. shock. Seems they do list a shock for the Sherco, yet it is designed for the '05 and back bikes. Recent testamony has seemed to confirm there is a 10mm difference in overall length on the '06 and up bikes stock shocks. Soo, there may be something here I do not totally understand. All pertaining to the geometry primarily.
Sherco probably easier to ride, and tone down if needed. If perfection is what you want , buy a new bike, otherwise take a good used one like this.
-
Call Ryan(RYPUSA) to see if he has had one out! I have not!
Otherwise- reverse removal process!
Some depends upon which year bike, as there were some changes.
-
V-mar top yoke and clamps will fix it properly, otherwise as Titanium says!

And a 2p napkin would have saved Monica's sweater!
Cannot blame Bill, look at Hillary! Still cannot believe it , she is a B form H! Perfect for the post!

I hate when that happens!

Way to go Don, there is another Texas order for you Clive!
Those guys down south are tough! It was 105f here today, sorry, but we are not riding over summer break, although a few may go south to play!
