  1. The system already has regulator and rectifier, you just need to tap into the wire. Get a volt meter on it to verify, but yellow should be the one.
  2. Couple of things here. First you would want to insure the adhesive backed insulation is installed on the mudguard. Second would be where the timing is set, because if set too slow it can make the exhaust run too hot on mid to hard running. How did you set it? What year is this bike, "05 or so? If the bike was smoking a lot you prolly lit off all the old oil and accumulated grunge in it. How does it sound? If it is too raspy like an MX, the packing is gone, if not, it may still be ok after a good burnout of the grunge. But if the timing is off, it will still get too hot. There should be an index mark on the stator plate on this year as I recall near the top casting web.
  3. Nort sure why you cannot have lights? Has little to do with kill switch.
  4. Steel is steel! If you have cooked the pads, chunk them and start over! Be sure you have clearance and full return of the MC piston.
  5. Why stop at a DT-1? I got a lad at work that is a Triumph GURU! Says he has a couple(hundred) bikes! I already told him I want a 650 Street Tracker!
  6. As stated "A NEW One" !!!! New is usually better, with the exception then you must prep and modify it with bling to taste!
  7. BUMP Need mellow metal! And a little something refreshing! Slapshot version
  8. I do not think much has changed as far as stroke and such, and 200 kits(163cc) were available at a cost of around $750 as I recall. Nice little bike, but for that money you could trade up to a 250!
  9. For a new rider that just wants to ride and have some fun, I don't think this vintage is the way to go. Mike can prolly hook you up with a decent Scorpa/ Yam from THIS decade that fill be fine!
  10. Did Bou stop and wave his leg about like the clip I seen? Asking for it! Hi, F--k me!
  11. A Gasgas 200 is 173cc as I recall, and a Beta is 199cc. Either will pull you around nicely. Few around, so a 250 still works!
  12. Funny you post that! Yesterday there was a US rider who posted similar on the FB. Little rascal had a nice nest in there!
  13. And this is how you cram one of them in one of those! Voodoo, 2013!
  14. Hey Nick, send me an email @Verizon.net
  15. There are older books, such as Bernies, but the Ryan Young DVD is preferred it seems.
  16. That is quite good actually! Get used to riding them rollers and a real stream bed is next! Pack up and take a trip down river to TTC in TN!
  17. It is bad when one gets things in their old heads, had to have relief again today! I just woke up repeating this in me head!
  18. Bout like anything else, seems bout right, then oil it bout nuff!
  19. Prolly not a bad little bike for didling about. Yet not unlike my Serrow, they are prolly not really GOOD at anything! Spent a lot less on the Serrow, and parts are easy! I had an old 98 2T Alp with the Techno motor. It was heavy like a 348, but more tight trials oriented for novice line. You could do as well with a long range setup on the 315 Mont. Yet road use limited.
  20. This is correct. It all works as in this early GasGas diagram, with the exception there are separate rectifier and regulator which need tied to the fan (yellow) circuit. For the fan, which is a DC motor, the rectifier(square box) is most important as otherwise you only have AC current. To limit the voltage at high revs, the regulator(rectangular) is used to shunt off excess voltage.
  21. That should doo in a few ribs!
  22. The later clutch hubs are interchangeable, yet abit pricey! Nice update but not sure I would worry that much about it if not rattling otherwise, as even a new one will rattle some. The orig oil spec was 40 wt wich is somewhat thick or high viscosity.
  23. Many times a quick clean on a carb will not do! You gotta disassemble and blow out the jets and passages, possibly run a fine wire throu the jets to clear debris. Just saying.
