  1. I rode last year, had an early number, slippy sections and it p****d down the full day. One of the many who gracefully retired. I have never been so s!!! scared riding up the side of a mountain not knowing where the flags/route goes. As regards fuel, usually plenty of folk from north/west/south yorks who travel up. Good luck, you'll need it!!
  2. Not so, Carole Nash are now refusing EVO insurance however they will insure a Rev 3, work that one out........................
  3. Has anyone had trouble getting insurance for an 2010 Evo. Ebike my normal insurer will not quote and Carole Nash only have a 250 Rev 3 on the pull down menu. I have tried the bikeinsurer but all still refer to a rev 3? Any guidance would be appreciated as I need to get a cover note to register and tax the new beaut before pickup on Saturday.
  4. As a new recruit to "Team Beta", I was wondering if anyone had pondered a mod to use the existing top yoke, machine down bar mounts using a milling machine and fit the S3 bar adjusters. I had them fitted on the gasser and for my height made a big difference. Alternatively, I could spend
  5. John, Can I believe my eyes, have you turned to the dark side, bullen on a gasser, thought I'd never see the day. Are you riding the Cleveland on your new mount??
  6. Does anyone know if this trial is still on??? Last year was cancelled due to a waterlogged start field. Long way to travel to be turned around for a great venue. Contact details for Trials Committee/Clerk of Course please.
  7. If you do decide to purchase, make sure that you carry out the mod to the fan/radiator housing. The fan assembly needs to be carefully removed and repositioned so that the base does not interfere with the cooling fins at the base of the radiator. I suggest 2 no. pop rivets on each side to make sure that the unit cannot pivot and wear through again.
  8. I'll second that, enjoyed every minute of my Sunday day out, sections were spot on for me,mixture of all terrain. I understand that John Watson has me fighting the gasser on Section 02 trying not to flip it 360, should be a good piccy!!! Congrats to the organisers and all at MDMC, the club needed new blood at the top to mix it up with the traditionalists. Big shout for Paul and Steve. Are we to expect similar events/sections at the Vic Boyes and next years Cleveland, I for one can't wait. Yours in sport. DJ.
  9. Perce, With the long range forcast not looking too good, would the event be even considered for and god forbid it, cancellation!!! I dont think we will get last years weather but maybe 2007 when it was, a bit wet!! I'd still have a go at them sections though, water or not!!!
  10. Hope this helps, Remapped throttle body or Fast action throttle. DJ
  11. The GG official handbook recommends 550cc but if you ask most riders and Factory Kev at GGUK, 400cc is about right and stops oil blowing out the vent tube.
  12. Just upgraded my shock, yellow spring, 7.0 KN = 15 st. Hope this helps.

    Gg Heavy Clutch

A standard GG clutch with the small master cylinder does have resistance but not overbearing. The addition of a large master cylinder (
  14. Trial Enthusiasts, Travelling up to LL next weekend for the 2 day with me mate, Craig, first timers for this event. Whats the crack with fuelling, just read the regs, not knowing anybody else is going to making fuel stops/competing almost impossible. Me riding numbers 29, any one near who can offer some help would be greatly appreciated. Could offer some free fuel or even free beer, whatever takes your pleasure. DJ.
  15. Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of a second hand/new yellow spring to fit an 06 GG Ohlin Shock. Shock has been recently conditioned. Currently has a black spring and is too soft to suit my 15st stature. Any help would be gladly accepted.
  16. If anyone can direct me to a site or email me a copy of the regs I will be very very gratefull. djdenzil@hotmail.co.uk DJ
  17. Oh, I forgot to say, he's already got my 2 Stage TB, need I say more!!!!
  18. Sadly customer services is not once it used to be and from my own recent experience have been let down badly by a reputable dealer in the NE of England. To say that I have been let down is actually an understatement, shafted is more apt by one andy ***** of border ***** who has been sending me a TRP shock for a 07 GG Pro in exchange for a Montesa 2STB for some 12 weeks now. Can anyone tell me if these shocks are so hard to come by or is he just taking the p***. Anyway, a hard leason learned, dont trust anyone on a deal unless its in writing, good faith has gone out of the window. A rather p****d off trials enthusiast.
  19. Yes it would but a 280 is a firey beast, why dont you try a base gasket, flywheel weight or slow action throttle. If its still too fiesty, buy a 250!!!! Plenty of good 07's around, just picked up a beaut for
  20. Dabster, Knowing how much we spend on blinging up our mounts, it is just another marketing ploy by Montesa to get us to part with our hard earned cash!!!!! Similar to FB clubs changing their strips every season!!!!!!
  21. I suggest that Cota approaches his new "arabian friends", they will have plenty of spare cash and who knows with CK at the helm, it can only be a roaring success. Mind you with Redcar Bowl and hMiddlesbrough Town Hall Crypt as possible international venues, it will be heavily geared towards the Brits. My votes for CK.
  22. CK's bike is in the "shop", currently getting a full makeover and waiting for a powder coated frame job. God knows what it will look like when he fully blings it up. How many did you drop in the end, I had 30/24 but should have done a lot better. Roll on the Cleveland!!!!
  23. Help !!!! Just finished the Colonial today, fantastic days sport and a true representation of all that is good in trials today, however, My 2005 4RT has been cutting out for no reason whatsoever in mid section, running very hot, so hot in fact that it has scorched the carbon exaust cover on my Mitani exaust. When I try and restart it and blib the throttle, it reacts like a choked up 2T and stalls. The bike had a similar problem two weeks ago at the Richmond Telfit trial where it pulled some water into the airbox. Bike spec is as follows: Standard plug (new). Single stage PTB on soft setting. Jitse Air Filter (new). Mitani exaust and front pipe. 2007 Upgrade cam. Checked all connections for water and cleaned/WD40. Lost valuable marks due to 3 stalls and it is starting to p*** me off !!! Any valid suggestions please
  24. Drill a number of small holes either side of the crack, apply some strong PVC glue and wire it all together. Should do the trick, cheaper than buying a new set of plastics!!!!!
  25. Boy, he does look pleased, is santa bringing him a raptor peg/hangers set and a set of VMar suspension lugs or will be getting hand me downs from a certain up and coming english rider? Looking forward to seeing them both in action (riding trials of course).
