  1. For any person who has an interest . This gives some insight and interestingly from three riding levels which gives balance that is normally absent. https://youtu.be/3w_WxS411wY?si=ukWNMnZagaC 51:25 is the part of the video that specifically talks about marking regs. Regards Alan.
  2. If you can actually find a seal and piston kit they are quite expensive usually , it may be better to pay the extra and buy a rear master made by AJP/BRAKTEC . Trials people refer to this as braketech for some reason but if you go to www.braketech.com you are not going to find what you want www.braktek.com is the real name of this company. Best wishes Alan.
  3. @excess You probably saw that your shock is not a OLLE but the SACHS ZF that is a standard on a TXT pro looks like they saved money with a cheaper finish on the body.
  4. Formula brakes /clutch master cylinders & slaves are no longer available mass production and parts are hard to find although there are some bits still around if you search hard enough I recently found a front calliper seal rebuild kit while searching for something else. Brake pads are easy to find GALFER or GOLDFREN make them to fit. Go to www.rideformula.com . Best wishes Alan. PS Formula make the TECH branded trials forks that are now used by a lot of Trials moto manufacturers.
  5. Google BETA REV images then Google BETA EVO images and you will see the difference between the two types of frames the 4T has used. A 4RT is a HONDA montesa.

    New boots

These boots are known to have a problem with the rubber inner top toe protector coming away from the boot when in use as it is not stitched just bonded , do not waste your time taking them back to the dealer if this happens just stick it back on with flexi type superglue gel.
  7. It is the same as a 2010 model . It was fitted with cheapo tyres Pirelli MT43 that are not proper competition tyres, I think the rear shock was a OLLE the forks should be Marzocchi steel stanchioned forks as most 125cc pros had until the TECH forks appeared when Marzocchi went bust. go to www.thehellteam.com and search under Tech support GasGas info.
  8. @DanRev4t The 2007/2008 Rev 4t uses the same water pump components as the 2009 on BETA EVO 4T , as far as I know the APICO BETA aluminium upgrade parts are listed as a fit on a 4T BETA motor water pump ? Check with BETA in ITALY to see if the parts are the same. If you don't want to chance it.
  9. @halfway www.birkettmotorsport.com - scorpa - parts books - halfway down the page. SY/TY 125F info.
  10. @Binkso19 If you want budget friendly then you would be better chasing 38mm forks with the yolks/triple trees included then make the necessary mods to make every thing fit. this can end up being quite a task sometimes so you need to have some patience and expect it to cost quite a lot . if you are just looking to mess about on a trials bike I would just buy a cheap bike that already has all the parts on it and works. If you like messing around then I wish you the best of luck. Regards Alan.
  11. www.betausa.com support service manuals beta evo 2009-2015 that will give you guidance the evo model motor is very similar .
  12. I think that is very wise the clutch bearings are probably fine anyway. As you say its an old bike and it isn't really worth the expenditure , it will all work fine even with the kick gears in worse condition than yours are now so you do not need to worry as when you ride the bike the noise is a lot less noticeable. As regards changing the bearings its a doddle there is just 1 x bolt in the centre of the clutch shine a torch there and you will see the allen head deep in the recess this bolt is drilled and has a hole through it for breathing of the gearbox casing so it is weak you must make sure that the allen key that you use fits tightly or it will round off and you will have to drill the head off so care is needed , with luck it may be loose.
  13. @Steveyboy vibrations through the bars can happen if the bolts holding the front of the bash plate to the frame are not totally tightened up also make sure all the motor bolts that hold it in the frame are tight , they do not need to be stupid tight or the motor lugs may snap.
  14. @ Steveyboy The only way to get rid of the noises is to have all those parts renewed IE the kick gear the idler gear the clutch basket and the bush and the primary drive , very expensive . It makes more sense to replace the cluch basket bush/bearings and use a grinder on any chipped damaged gears to smooth off their surfaces where they mesh.
  15. @Steveyboy In short yes it will make lots of noise and it is normal for this to happen regularly if used a lot on a Pro model , a pair of gears for the Kick mechanism are around £200.00 these days and the best way to make sure you don't have to buy a new pair every 5 minutes is to slowly engage the gears before you kick the bike over and also when you fit the kick start do not position it on the splines too far forwards there are two positions that were used by factory riders through the years those were 12 o'clock and about 7 mins past 12. look at old WTC videos on YouTube to see these.
  16. @ cello the World is a strange place BETA probably fitted them like that at the factory , the seal will work like that and probably cause no problems but the seal for the pump should really have a seal that has the open end with the expansion spring near the lip facing toward the coolant , the pressure of the coolant goes against that area thus helping it to seal more than without any pressure. If you check out the TRS trials bike it has a seal for the oil and a seal for the coolant with a gap between the two seals that is within a casing and that casing has a hole, if the pump seal fails coolant drips into the casing and out of the hole so that you will know it has failed .On the TRS the seal for the oil has the open end facing the oil and the seal on the pump has the open end facing the coolant as they should. Regards Alan.
  17. The open side of the seal faces toward the greatest pressure as the gearbox casing should be vented and have minimal internal pressure and the water cooled system operates under a greater pressure to increase the boiling point of the coolant in that closed system and so the open side of the seal faces towards the impeller/pump housing cover.
  18. @ cello RE that crack , to worry or not to worry that is the question I have had motors that had the same near a bearing housing and just left them like that fitted a new bearing and nothing bad happened. If you follow konrads advice and freeze the bearing over night before heating the casing you won't risk making it worse. Unless you are going to weld it and machine it yourself or know some one who can it will get expensive and you may as well look to buy a complete gearbox and casings off ebay etc to get a lot more for your money. If the bearing outer race turns in the housing just use a liquid bearing retainer adhesive such as Loctite 641. Regards Alan.
  19. JITSIE made BETA EVO disc spacers/bobbins have these measurements TOP HAT BRIM = 14mm , BOLT HOLE = 6.30mm , DISC LOCATOR BUSHING AREA = 10.20mm . The clutch pressure plate should be under spring pressure and clamping the clutch pack together it should not waggle , if you are referring to the clutch basket moving then that would be movement in the bushing or perhaps the nut that holds it on is loose?. Best of luck. Regards Alan.
  20. @cello www.betausa.com Trials support service manuals EVO 2009- 2015 service manual the motor is very similar to the techno so use that as a guide .Techno details are harder to find now.

  22. A farce if you do a farce if you don't . A farce it is then. I think I am just going to start stopping and hopping it at no stop events as no one seems to think stopping is a problem and I quite like the stop allowed rule which is beneficial in some of the very narrowly marked club trials routes sometimes. thanks for everyones input. Best wishes Alan.
  23. You may find it hard to believe but I think you are absolutely right about not having another route and for all the reasons that you have listed .So to stop the farce of people stopping and observers allowing a 3 when they clearly fived it because they feel sorry for them just make the event stop allowed and there won't be any nonsense of making the rules up as they go along or perhaps men can be women depending on who is deciding. Its all very confusing, as they say rules are made for breaking. Best wishes Alan.
  24. I understand your concern about ruining the event I am not suggesting two lines just have an exit point in the section before the super hard stuff for those that clearly are not at that level of riding, it would save time for all and be less of a farce. The real point is trouble with all the stopping in the sections in a supposedly no stop marked trial the top riders can keep the bike going because they have the skills but also because of their fitness level being higher than the average rider. The two routes suggestion is only based on that or the easy way is just mark it stop allowed and the same at club trials that are run as no-stop , all I seem to see is people stopping but the results do not show those fives. To me that is just a farce what is the point of the rule if it is that flexible IE whatever you fancy.
