did a trial yesterday and late on in the trial, when the gearbox was hot, it became very hard to get from out of first to any other gear, one point i had to use my hand? it runs dextron atf 3 gear oil would it be worth worrying about ?

surely you would need more fitness to do extreme enduros on an enduro bike than a trials bike? think of the weight difference? i think knighter did alot of trials before making it in the enduro world, hence why he makes all the technical stuff look so easy, so i would say it would have made a big difference if knighter was on a trials bike.

Anyone know where i could get one of theses for the dellorto carb? i dont trust the rubber bung one bit anymore after it split few weeks back?

I thought it was excellant, every single minute of it, from watching the clubmans struggle up the hill climb, to the point where knighter flew past us with brown right on his mud gaurd, then over take him! One thing to remember about the price of tickets are that the venues arnt free, st johns im sure arnt free, and i know that the quarries insurance is thru the roof, so WOR would need to take all this into account. And i dont think that there is a better venue anywere in the north west to hold such a big event, I also thought it was very organised, plenty of marshalls on hand to get the people away from the edge! my only complaint was that all the food vans ran out of eggs by about 10 o clock, but i ended up walking to the local pub for dinner instead,

just fixed it! soaked the jets in carb cleaner for an hour and starts much better, just got to sort the mixture screw out tomorrow night Thanks!

well spoke to soon, its come back again, bolt still in place! so today ive checked all electrics, blown out the fuel mixture jet on the carb, replaced plug (again), and kicked it over so many different techniques i cant remember them all, the only way it will start is if i put the bike on its side, let alot of fuel come out, then kick it on choke, it will start and will rev but sounds bogged down, and not well at all, and it wont idle either, mixture screws gone bakc to original position (3turns) so please if anyone can think of anything let me know, as i have a trial next sunday!!

I've noticed previous BC trials allow newer machines in too, is this the case this sunday? as i could really do with an event this weekend thanks

Ive heard the Wrexham trial was cancelled because there is a Border Classics the same venue (Wern Ddu, Corwen)

So anyone got one? and what are they like, been looking at helmets today, cant make my mind up

haha, well after doing all the above, it still wouldnt start, so took the fuel tank off to see the elctrics, and the bolt that secures all the earths is missing! typical!

Went out last week practising and 2hrs in my bike had died, looked at the carb and the airbox to cuarb rubber bung had come apart from the airbox, so there was say a 2mm gap in the bottom! so this week ive changed the plug, cleaned the box and filter, and drained the carb from the nut underneath, and it still wont start, tried witht he choke both on and off and wont even try to run, only thing which causes some noise is if i tip the bike over until fuel comes out the overflow then kick it with choke on,it will start then die almost instantly? what can it be!!!

i get this too, usually after ive been on the bike, and lasts for weeks!

Anybody know what type of plastic it is on the gas gas? the seat unit to be exact, as i need to glue it, its snapped.

Were you the bloke who did the talk before hand? Also who was thechappy taking the photos around the place? are they available as i saw him snapping a few times at me, (probably with my foot down!)

i actually enjoyed it, was my second visit to newbarns and was alot better than my first! I was actually doing White route (4th) i just made silly things 5 twice i think, once i rolled back, the other i rode over the marker but other than that was great, think ill do the whole series next year!

i've often wondered, like you about the newer models (i own an 05) And what i cant justify is if paying for a new bike will make me that much better of a rider... and i dont think it will,
