Charlies advice is as spot on as ever.
A couple of things to stress and hopefully help..since Ove done my Rev3 ones a couple of times.
The Fork legs..WILL come away from the uppers like Charlie says..but sometimes it takes quite alot of pulling apart..so keep trying.
Also to put the new seals in, I find a piece of plastic drainpipe is excellent for that. (make sure you buy the appropriate size)..place down and over the fork stantion...sit the pipe on top of the new seal and tap with hammer...that way the seal is being tapped all around to ensure going in level........also still use the old seal like Charlie suggests.
HOPE that makes sense!!??
Fork oil on Rev3 neonsurge is 370cc in right leg and 350cc in left leg.
I usually use 5W oil..but I THINK some people might use 10W??
GOOD LUCK

craftypiggy...
I always reverse bleed both my brakes..(think thats what its called)
I have a big syringe (cheap from the local chemist) which sits perfectly int the nipple on the calliper. Then keep pushing the fluid in...it overflows at the reservoir..and you can tell by the change of colour, when all the new fluid is through. Any air in the system allways wants to go uphill and out, so it seems to work really well.
Usually takes me about 10 mins...front or back..and I've allways had great feeling brakes. Hope it continues to work for me!!
Good luck

GlousTY80.....HOPEFULLY I'll be in the area a fair bit, later on this year..so hope to meet up with r2w and your young 'uns for some practise.
They'll probably both be able to teach me a thing or two as well!
-
COOL ..now I know the real name..always thought SILENT BLOCK was a bit weird..but BOB..if you order one from a dealer..it MIGHT be usefull to say silent block since that is the name on the Beta parts diagrams.
Anyway..it might not help much..'cause its not a great picture..but here is a metalastick!!
-
Yippee....I'm right...that dont happen much! ...now if only I could get my riding right!
I'll try and post a picture of the silent block later bob
-
bob...I THINK the rubber mounts your on about are the same as the one on the rear silencer mount Rev3
On the rear silencer mount, this rubber thing with bolt on one end, is called the "silent block"
I will try to check tommorow, if they are the same item on the radiator, and if so I'll also try and post a picture of a new one I have in the house here.

Hi coflet...are you SURE it was 98 pounds a PAIR??
If so..where did you get 'em?
I'm pretty sure I was quoted about 100 pounds for one...to go on my 02 Beta Rev3
Just scratched my other fork leg too!..not too bad..but I KNOW one day I'm gonna wreck it!!...would be good to know where I could get some cheap ones when I need too!
-
I hope so...purely because its just such a cracking bike..but mostly I hope Beta just continue with 2 strokes..or at least both like Sherco have.
Look forward to seeing yer new one one day Marky!
-
Copemech....I guess Im often found lying on top of it, and sometimes even underneath it, but unfortunately thats just because I crash alot!
-
Hey haggis....I've gotta remember that one. In fact I might just order a donkey jacket now, to have one standing by.
-
Well its been interesting watching this thread....and I hope you'll all remain friends at the end of it
Seems to me though that its going round in circles. It seems everyone agrees its a good idea to wear a helmet....and then the freedom to choose for yourself issue...well...thats a different subject really in my humble opinion, since it could be probably be brought up in many other areas of our sport.
see ya

You should all try living here for a while. They are the worst drivers EVER. They'll sit in the fast lane of a dual carriageway for 3 miles or so, just because they've gotta turn right..(in 3 miles time!!!)
THe ammount of accidents I've seen here on a STRAIGHT UPHILL road are just incredible. ANd as for my bike ride home from work late at night...well...drink driving is MASSIVE here. Last week I saw a car mount the pavement about 7 times in about 4 mins!!!!!!!........(driving test here lasts about 10 mins...doesnt include a roundabout/dual carriageway or anything!!!!!!!!!).....I strongly reccomend it to anyone who wants an easy pass!!!!!!!...'cause here's the scarey bit!...a Hong Kong license is still valid for use in UK.
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
-
On one hand I agree with you tobee..but I think there are still alot of people (myself included) who will IF POSSIBLE rather buy from a shop down the road..even if they cant get the colour they want.
An interesting slant to the story from me, is that I have to buy basically EVERYTHING for trials from outside Hong Kong. I usually use bvm and they have been EXCELLENT...ALLWAYS.
I have however for one or two items that I couldnt get in UK, used some other places...and i wont mention any names because they were NOT as good as the UK shops.
Just my opinion..I'm sure some of you wont like it..but its just what I have experienced. No offence intended
-
Awww... thanks big john...it aint often someone says I'm right!!
looking back at my post though..I did do some bad spelling..as usual...DOH!!!!!!
-
Its probably not a very bright idea!!!!!!!..since I guess it would take too long..but turning the fuel off might help???
Guess it would still be left revving for far too long though??
Keep the ideas coming lads/lasses....in case it ever happens to me..DOH!
-
Mmmm...nice footpegs. I'm pretty sure you can get those in gold from bvm-moto.co.uk
Ask them...they might have them in red?
-
Probably just demand trials lad. The shops in UK are only gonna stock what they reckon they can sell. Maybe their arent that many people wanting the bits you mention??
Helmets is an easier one to answer in that, some models may not be type approved for UK???(I think that happens with road helmets)...and then they may not be allowed to be sold in UK.??.........no expert on this ...but I think that MIGHT be the reason?
ALSO..might just be that some UK shops dont put everything on their website. Try BVM..they've been able to get hold of virtually anything I've ever wanted!
-
Physco......thats pretty good news eh!...its getting cheaper every post!
WIsh it was that cheap here!!!!!!!!......FIRST registration tax here is 40 percent of the new value of the bike!........hence you dont see any trials bikes on the road!!...shame really
-
I love it..especially the one about the electric chair!!
-
Only having a laugh boys!!...great reply PA..I like the idea about more trials bikes too coflet!!
-
My darling Beta...
I know my wife sometimes calls you my second wife...but really you are my first...so dont get upset!..
ANyway...just want to wish you a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
-
I think big john has the KEY point here....and its a VERY scarey one!...but I also (in some ways) agree with you coflet. One of the best things about trials (to me) is the way you can really enjoy watching a big event. I remember paying about 30 quid to stand about 10 deep at the fence at Brands Hatch to watch WSB years ago......I guess I did HEAR a few bikes go round every couple of minutes!!.......(NEVER again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Compare that with the fun I had watching at the European trials at Hawkstone last summer...well...to me....I'd watch the trials EVERY time!
-
I like your style ginger. ...thats what its all about..having fun..and it seems like you certainly did.
Good luck in the next one!
-
You's funny bob...got any more stories for us.
lol
-
Good point HondaRS
Of course you're right..it WOULD be better to have an older bike in GOOD nick than a newer one in bad nick.
