  1. Ive changed that gasket twice on my rev3 There seems to be two kinds of gaket available too. one of them the standard flat papery kind of one..and the other a kind of rubbery one with a small ridge around it. I found the rubbery one worked its way out alot easier.... so if you get a choice, I would go with the papery one. I now check those bolts around that cover every ride, ;cause they seem to work loose and then the gasket slips out...maybe try a bit of locktite on them too?? ALso...another one to watch out for in my opinion, is the oil sight glass can sometimes work itself loose, and then start loosing oil. I paint a little line on mine, so I can see if it has moved or not. Maybe (with it being a new bike) some of the nuts and bolts need re-tightening? GOod luck..
  2. Cotakid...dont worry...I couldnt do a wheelie long enough for a copper to read the plate anyway!
  3. On my BETA rev3 once you've taken the bolt out the bottom...you just have to pull them apart...BUT it sometimes takes several attempts
  4. bloomin 'eck munch...you's as sharp as a knife. Wish my whit was that quick.....good-un.

Hey Dixie...if you believe in baler twine....AND cider both being mans best friend then you MUST be a true worzel!!!!! BUT..I guess you're in SOmerset?...and we talks alot like what you do in 'erefordshire. (where I grew up..or tried to).((home of Bulmers)) What always puzzled me waz that we thought WE was the worzels in 'erefordshire..then I realized they talk like tha' in SOmerset too. Now I live in 'ong Kong.........where I miss the old worzel twang. Long live baler twine!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Yep..good site the Renthal one...and I'm surprised how much different they feel, since the meassurements dont seem to be HUGELY different. BUT I tried the Beta 660? ones on mine, AND the Dougie Lampkin 740? ones .....and to be honest (to me!) it felt MUCH better with the Beta ones. AND...the Dougie Lampkin ones didnt make me ride like him I thought they would I mean thats what you pay for aint it??
  7. I got one too!..and its pretty good. The buckle rusted a bit...but then its VERY humid out here...sometimes 97/98 percent humidity! Even if it rusts a bit in UK..its worth putting up with for an otherwise VERY good value lid
  8. WImbledon AND Chelmsford are a long way from Malvern arent they?? Or are there 2 Malverns in UK??? If you're near Malvern (Malvern hills) I would love to know a bit about the trials scene there, ie which club you ride for etc....is there anywhere to practise etc...since my parents live in Hereford, and I will probably be settling near there in the near future. Cheers and thanks for the advice on registering a bike
  9. Fantastic...someone who actually WANTS to hear from those concerned. Even if you Wakefield riders dont go trail riding/green laneing........please take your chance to air your views. Thats something that would NEVER happen here in Hong Kong. Here laws/rules just get made, and then you've gotta live with it. Please!!...(for me..and the sake of trials ) support this and let your voices be heard
  10. Sounds like a recipe for one of my curries!
  11. HI crunch...you might also want to try Llanfylin club...(near Oswestry)... BIKESPACE..who is a regular contributor on these forums will probably tell you about it. they have a good website too. Keep in touch..'cause my wife and I are moving back to UK soon..and my parents live in Hereford, so I'll hopefully be doing some weekend trialing there when we visit them. Initially we'll be moving to Bedfordshire..but will probably settle in Hereford sooner or later..so it will be good to have a trials buddy. NEVER met anyone in Hereford before that does trials!
  12. Thanks for all your help guys. Will pass on the info to my mate and keep you updated if he does something radical! He's into building his own stuff, so will probably try to go down the route you suggested PA cheers
  13. yeah...one cool guy...I'd have been spitting me dummy out if I could tell there was no blood going to my foot. Next time you're on your bike, look at how big the gap is between rear wheel and swingarm.(near to rear shock) Its hard to believe, but his whole foot/boot was right through that gap!!
  14. Yep should be a large o ring. Quite cheap to buy so probably best to get a new one. I usuall put a couple of very small dabs of silicone in the groove to just hold the o ring in place whilst re-installing the case cover. Otherwise it tends to keep moving. good luck
  15. Heres a new way to kill a revving engine.. happened yesterday to a LUCKY Beta rider in Hong Kong. (not me ) Fell off his bike...bike was revving its nuts off. He went over to hit the kill switch...slipped and his foot landed on the rear tyre. WELL..that was spinning like crazy so it took his foot/leg and rammed it into the gap between swingarm and rear tyre/wheel!!!!!!!!! AMAZINGLY he didnt brake his leg or ankle...but we had to get the rear wheel exhaust etc off pretty quick 'cause the blood wasnt getting through his leg.!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. mines got a link on it. Be surprised if yours doesn't. Have a good look under all the dirt..sure there will be one
  17. I THINK nothing uses it now...but unfortunately whichever turkey imports the tyres here...(even though the riders have told him) he keeps importing the tubeless ones. ANd of ALL the riders here...NO-ONE can get a tubeless front to bead properly..so we all tend to be riding round with front tyres that are only beaded part of the way round!!
  18. Pleased to help out Andy....but come on you TY owners...is there no advice for me??
  19. DOnt forget coflet..you also get free scrumpy cider included with your ticket...thanks to R2W and if he's already run out, you can probably just feast yourself on the alcohol fumes coming from the TC lot. On a slightly different note, d'ya think I'd have any luck starting a TC non-drinking possy(sp?) since I cant drink anymore. Get the feeling I'd be on me own!
  20. I suppose if you see a copper behind you, you could just do a constant wheelie, therefore enabling him to see your number plate??
  21. HIya...a post on behalf of a mate!!.. any help greatly appreciated. The front wheel rim on his TY250 mono (1983 we think) is badly rotted. Its a 32 spoke drum brake. Just wondered. We will try to look around for another used 32 spoke rim here that might suffice...but were also thinking maybe its worth going the whole hog and trying to fit a different wheel+hub altogether..one with a disc even. Any ideas on this....(Oh! and as is often the case..this will be done with as little money spent as possible..!!)
  22. WOW..that looks good crafty pigggy. As I suspected...I must be falling off more than most...'cause my bike looks alot rougher than that!
  23. James..if the chain only had a TINY bit of slack on....surely that would make the tensioner sit further from the swingarm...ie more than 20mm SOrry if Im being a doughnut Interesting topic though this 'cause mine never tends to spin very freely, and yet when I've watched the paddock pics in the vids, I've seen theirs spinning VERY freely...with chain and everything attatched.
  24. DOnt know about tonight...but Cabestany for the outdoor I reckon
