  1. On the Orange air cooled fantics they had a couple of years with tubeless fronts! You sometimes get a bit scared popping the backs on, but that was nowt compared to these fronts........definately arms length, looking away blowing them up
  2. ..........and I can see the six or so manufacturers maybe, only maybe! sending one rider in future add the Top Trial Team and you have a championship with 7 riders? They are at the top of the sport and that is where they want ride, but I do wonder how much longer Pune and Wiggy will be supported banging in results like this? Just my thought and next year will be interesting? If the WTC sold bikes then we would all be riding Montesa's because it is the bike to beat? or maybe the rider has a little to do with it? I don't think the WTC sells bikes people will choose what they want to ride because they like it?
  3. Yep! but will it matter? I just wonder if it is sustainable to keep running a WTC with the cost involved from running an event and will the factories be prepared to spend all that money sending trucks, mechanics and riders there? But thats a whole different debate? Back on topic apart from the Spaniards that seem to be doing things right with an abundance of quality riders the French seem to be getting a few good riders coming through, but just how many next year will take the leap to the Championship Class and more to the point how many will you loose?
  4. First of all I applaude Toni Bou for taking trials riding to a level that nobody seems to compete with and we British wern't complaining when Dougie was doing it week in, week out! But is it worth while for anyone out of the top 4/5 turning up? The Brits are really struggling this year Dibs bagging a 6th place but a fair bit mark wise off 5th place and Pune just breaking a Ton with Wiggy (well there is a seperate thread about him?). Jack seems to be putting the hours in and is climbing slowly, but I do wonder if 6th/7th can be done? Guys at Club, National and International(SSDT) level know when they set off in their van to the trial they are not going to win, but they will enjoy it, but this is the WTC and maybe these guys are having a ball bagging top ten finishes and traveling the world, but it does make you wonder if it is ''Worth While''? P.S Doug that Bou fellow does look a bit sharp and might win a few World Championships!

  9. I know that Andy, just thought Dabster would have some hot of the press news if he is in Wales? Bloody Hell Andy no sooner said than done? The weather must have been bad and maybe a good decision to cut the trial to 2 laps. You can some things wrong, but you can't predict the weather even Slapshot can get it wrong. Remember once being put on delay in Park Ferme after we started because of the weather!!
  10. Is that what happened? Any Results?
  11. Gerty is still living getting dirty with a new partner, news is that the present owner gives a better ride than the previous owner. I suggest the name of the new mount be DONNA in respect of the most beautiful, succulent, I wouldn't say not that good looking when undressed, but you have loved her for a long time........DONNA KEBAB

    Whither Xispa?

That may have been the case several years ago when the average working man had some disposable income to spend on which bike he chooses. As said if priced right and rides ok then this will sell, because it could be affordable. Tony Bou wins on Sundays but it don't sell Montesa's in volumes and some of that would be down to price?

    Whither Xispa?

You know what you have to hand it to them in a climate that is is in global financial turmoil they have come through and produced what seems to be a pretty good looking pair of bikes, so good effort. Would anyone else taking into account the above plus the fact that the market demand for trials bikes is very small be prepared to produce a bike, but we have people that are prepared along with OSSA, GREEVES and whatever JT is going to do in recent times so bloody well done and good luck? Now how it rides is the factor here because their last effort wasn't too good, but if it handles ok and the price is right then you got to say you would sooner have that than the Greeves which is way over priced? It may look like a SherGasBetOssa, but the courts have judged differently so we may see a few more a trials soon?

It might be as simple as no throttle needed!
  16. Its amazing how many injuries you can get falling from a kerb?
  17. But it never happens, but that is a whole different debate? Yes agree with the ACU for moving forward and adopting the on line registration and hopefully you will get more people sign up, but it still begs the question at a trial what is the percentage of people that are in possesion of tha ACU licence until as stated a rider or spectator get injured and a claim goes in? Are the ACU going to ask the volunteer secretery if he or she checked each individual licence and hold them responsible? Won't me many volunteers for that job, it would be easier finding observers and we all know how hard that is??
  18. "Quote"the fact that he was brought back to the start area in a van one night (Friday?) when it wouldn't go is neither here nor there. Bloody hell nowt wrong with your glasses Andrew to see that from Milton Keynes?
  19. This old chestnut again and both discussions about club and licences can be talked about forever. There are some valid points about going to a centre trial and putting any club on the entry form and at that same trial did you have to show your ACU Licence, I very much doubt it. I sometimes wonder how many people actually have a licence when competing, there will be people saying "ah well they won't be covered for accidental injury" I dont think people care. So is it down to the volunteer secretary to check licences and those that haven't cough up the 3 quid daily ACU Licence fee and then fill out extra forms to send in the money to Rugby maybe, just maybe if collected that goes into club funds? Would you blame them? I used to show my licence once a year at the SSDT haven't been asked since 2007. So no real solution unless you scrap the daily licence fee and each club check the riders licence when entering and that will not happen, I could also see entries plummeting and more people just going out with a few mates to ride. So if you want it FREE ride Centre trials make up a club and number, don't hurt yourself and you will be fine. Disclaimer: I have both licence and membership of 2 clubs.

  22. Yes the bike has a limited range on the fuel tank Welcome back Bri
  23. You know Dabster could be right as they are not selling enough bikes or are they clever? Shift old stock slowly (people will still buy in small numbers)not pumpimg money into R&D on a new bike which could be clever in the present climate? So rather than loose a pile of money they keep ticking over. The trials market is very small with lots of players and the punters want something new each year, is this sustainable? When the European manufacturers are struggling whats the bet that Honda will up their game?
  24. Carolyn you must be confused? Donald said if the weather is hot on Sunday he will lead the parade on an electric scooter in a Mankini :P If I was to show that much flesh Greenpeace would be trying to drag me back in the water
