  1. I have a shop very close to Steve's house and had a look at these in the flesh, look very nice and very good quality, will get some when I next break mine! Handy being so close, means I can go down to his house and bother him for bits that I cant pay for! (Sorry Steve...) both Andy and Steve are very sound business men and definatly reccomend trading with them. Thatchman.... www.trialcast.co.uk is the website or click the link on Trials Centrals Homepage, Take a looksy All the best Tom
  2. My Beta does the same. I seem to remember that on bikes where the disc has been static, the caliper has had some play in it. I think its just so the pads can grip effectively. will wait for someone to confirm this for me! Tom
  3. After re-reading your post I noticed 2 things.... 1. Its sunny and dry, that means its probably not England, which led me to find.... 2. you said "Birmingham, AL", im guessing thats in Alabama? dont know if id be willing to take the massive trip to your birmingham... either way if im in the area ill give you a shout! Tom (in Chesterfield, Derbyshire)
  4. I live in chesterfield but would love to take a trip to ride there, looks like great fun, what side of birmingham is it? very nice pics too! All the best Tom
  5. Ello Mick, there are a few places to practice around the sheffield area. im from chesterfield and have a shop in sheffield and the places I practice are... Burycliffe Quarry - Just outside Elton near Matlock, you have to have membership to go there though and has limited spaces. Its very compact and my favorite place to ride at the moment. stuff there for complete beginners up to expert level. Pindale Quarry - In Hope, not technically legal but never had any trouble up to now, the guy who "owns" the land said its fine too, apparently its been moved around alot since i last visited. better coming here for pratting about as its quite open but some nice challenging stuff. Bracken Rocks - In Matlock, Practice is on Saturday, and there is usually a trial on sunday. Has lots of rocks..... Hawks Nest - A bit further to go but well worth it. just off the Buxton/Leek road. Great place to ride, is split into 2 parts, grassy/rocky bit with a river down at the bottom and sandy/hill area at the top with lots and lots of rocks. As for a bike, Im not that clued up on older bikes, all I know is that the early Gas Gas Pro models had some problems. I have a 2006 Beta 250 which is pretty solid. dont know if the older ones are any good though? im sure someone will be around with better knowledge than me hehe. if you need any more details on the venues ill be happy to help. All the best Tom
  6. araldite is a two part glue, I rekon superglue would have the same effect, try putting it under heat to see how it reacts. araldite definatly worked for me though, its had about 5 hours use since I did it and its held up fine so far =] Tom

  11. Thanks anyway PA =] Sound advice Frizzy. did it a few days ago, just as you described, cos me 20 quid for all the bits (inc heat gun) and seems to have worked a treat, riding on sunday so will no for sure how good it is. feels perfectly smooth to the touch so dont think ill have any problems. Thanks again =] Tom
  12. thanks for the reply =] ill give it a shot unless theres anywhere reasonable i can take it for a proper job. what grade wet and dry did you use? just get the finest? Thanks again Tom
  13. Ive done some damage to my RHS fork tube (06 beta 250). rang lampkins up and they said 200 quid + vat for a new one! is there anyone out there that repairs things like this? they arent bent or anything, just chipped. All the best Tom
  14. nice touch, go's well with the white. Tom
  15. Take a look at this article, found it while looking for info on 2008 rev-3 see if you can spot the mistakes.... http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/new...amp;R=EPI-22718 Tom
  16. cheers everyone, ive heated the disc up and poured cold water on them before and it does give me a better brake but still nowhere near where it should be. the brake pads are new so now problems there. Ive cleaned and greased the pistons in the caliper too and are all free moving, i pumped them all the way out and pushed them back in again and they all seem 100% How do I replace the seals in the master cylinder? havnt got a clue hehe. Thanks again. Tom
  17. Ive had a rubbish front brake for a long long time now and its finally got to the point where im fed up with it. Ive replaced the pads twice, cleaned the disc with brake cleaner, replaced the fluid and bled the brakes twice and its still rubbish. there is plenty of pressure on the lever, just as much as anyone else riding a beta so i cant understand where the problem is. could it be something wrong with the disc? I have to slide the master cylinder right down to the bend in the bars just so I have enough leverage to lock the front wheel (with some effort). anyone got any idea's on what I could do? All the best Tom
  18. Just registered my bike and put it on the road with fully legal plates etc, took it out for a quickie and its too much fun, its gonna end badly I just know it... Tom
  19. It doesnt actually say she was world champion, it say's "Women's Trial World Championship rider", that could mean any woman riding in the championship. Im gobsmacked as to how small pedrosa is, the other 2 must be giants or something... Tom
  20. First off, want to say thanks to everyone who has helped me out with technical info as ive asked a hell of alot of questions recently! and heres another! A few months ago I stripped the forks on my 06 Rev 3 and after reassembly they worked great. however the fork seals now need replacing again and after stripping the forks I have found that one of the springs has sort of intermingled with the other. so my question is, what order do the parts go into the fork leg? I thought I got it right first time around but I must have slipped up somwhere. the order I had it in was: Small Spring First Then the Large Spring Then the small plastic peice (with the metal ring facing down) Then the large plastic peice sitting ontop of the small one Is this right? Thanks again to anyone who answers. id be lost without you! All the best Tom
  21. Thanks for the info everyone, Ive had a chat with the local bike shop and they said they will fit the rear for me for 15 quid, ive had a looksy at the ones ive got on and it looks like I already have a road legal michelin on the front so only need the rear =] may ask them if they mind me watching to see how its done. Cheers Tom
  22. Need some new tyres so going to get some michelin X11's (for road) however im not sure of the best way to remove them and re-fit the new ones? I see lots of topics about fitting the rear tyre but dont fully understand what people are talking about! Is there a guide anywhere on the internet that can help? I dont mind spending a bit of money on the right tools to make the job easier. Thanks in advance! Tom
