I ordered my 08 300 from the same place and they messed me around good and proper, I wanted the wheels and bashplate anodising red and to cut a long story short, after waiting a very long time and after confirming a date of collection for the bike, I turned up to find the bike was standard and the rims hadnt even been spoked and the bashplate hadnt even been anodised. After asking why the work hadnt been done I was asked "when did you want to pick the bike up?" I was also told that they had got the bike in the workshop 2 weeks before I picked it up and that the only thing i was waiting for was the rims to be anodised. I later found out that the bike had been brought in the day before I came to pick it up. hence why the bashplate hadnt been done (they didnt even send it off to be anodised as they didnt even have the bike!) While waiting for 4 - 5 hours while they "blitzed" the PDI on my bike while I went off to get them sandwiches. I paid the price they asked for the bike and didnt bid a single penny out of it in the hopes I would get top notch service. Up until now Ive been quiet about what happened but I felt I wanted to share my experience. and to top it off the rims were the wrong colour, but ive kind of taken to them now hehe. On a lighter note, your bike looks swish. Really like the red frame of the 125's wish they did it in the bigger bikes. I really like the no-thrills stripped down look on the beta, always wondered what one would look like without all the pointless stickers on it. Tom

The only advice I can off is... dont remove the engine from the bike, remove the bike from the engine. secure the engine so theres no risk of it falling and once everything is removed, lift the bike off it. Tom

Does the whole engine have to be removed?? is it possible to slide the cylinder off or does it hit the frame? Tom

I have an 08 300 and its great, the "switchable power" is just a gimmick really, I like to think of it as a switch that changes the weather. as for the raga if you have the money why not wait till the new one comes out soon? Tom

I would have thought that If you had agree'd a price then that is the price you pay regardless of the cost of the bike for the seller. The exchange rate cant be helped so its neither parties fault, I think a fair deal would be for both of you to stand it, ie: you meet in the middle and only pay

I wonder if it would be possible to clean the carb while its still inbetween the airbox and cylinder? could just undo the slide, pop it out and take the float bowl off and give it all a blast with compressed air. would the carb rotate of you loosened the jubilee clips off? I love to work on bikes but ive never got time! always trying to find shortcuts so I can get more riding in hehe. Tom

fuel is 98 RONALD at a 80:1 Mix of Putoline. Ive given the air filter a good clean (and bought a spare) and cleaned the carb, if that sorts the problem then I know what to do in future. the air filter had a bit of dirt on it (not excessive) so it may be restricting air flow. bloody sensitive things aint they Tom

If its a Beta then theres no way any insurance company will insure you for fire, they wont take the risk! in all seriousness though, I just registered mine, and insured it as a road bike, good fun to nip to the shops on too. All the best Tom

It was running perfect for the first 10 hours so I think the jetting is right, theres a spare jet in the bottom fork clamp (god knows why!?), might be a different size. Tom

aye, thats where most of the crap seems to get in, doesnt bother me too much puting a bit of tape on it, starting to look old now anyway hehe. plus I took plenty of pictures beforehand... Tom
