Which spark plug is best to use in a 2008 300 pro?

How often do you change your spark plug? how long are you meant to leave it before replacing it?

Thanks alot for your time everyone, got the new seal through today, checked the old one to find a nice 1mm chunk taken out of it, managed to put the new one in without needing to bleed the system (this im quite proud of!)
also decided to put new fluid in the front brake, made more of a difference than I thought it would. Think I might change the rear brake fluid too while im at it.
Thanks again

I had some S3 Ali pegs, felt good but wore down quick, Ive replaced them with some ghost pegs from TrialCast (steve who owns the company lives about 100 yards from my shop). they grip well, and are light, seem to wear well too, id definatly recommend them.
also dont forget that you dont want pegs that are too grippy, ever tried to dab and found your foot doesnt want to leave the peg? causes all sorts of pain!
either that or just improve your riding?

Thanks alot =]
Ive ordered the kit today, hopefully be here tomorrow and I can get it fitted.
any tips for fitting it? do I just keep all the pipes connected to it and fit the new seal etc or isnt this possible?
All the best

That would make sense, I had no loss of fluid so it cant be leaking from the banjo's or nipple so it must be the master cylinder seal and its leaking straight back into the resevoir.
Ive never taken a rear master cylinder apart before, can it be done and the seal just be replaced or do I have to buy the whole thing?

When I started riding today I noticed I had a problem with my rear brake which to me is very strange....
when I apply the brake, it grabs fine and can lock the rear wheel no problem, however the brake lever will carry on travelling down until its reached the end of its travel, at which point I lose all braking power.
however when I release the lever and then re-apply, the brake will grab again, and like before, keep going down until there is nothing left....
It doesnt feel like there is air in the system because there is pressure to start with, plus I have bled the system and found no air bubbles coming out of either of the 2 banjo's or the bleed nipple.
any help much appreciated

some really helpful advice here, thanks alot.
Its all a bit pointless though really! im never going to enter a trial where its nessisary anyway, been riding 10 months and only done a couple of trials, all of which even the experts would never have to use this technique.
good fun though =]

thanks for the reply =] ill take it all on board this sunday, as for the helmet, Id pretty much finished riding, so came up from the van to find my friend.
started pratting around like you do and then carried on riding, only realised I didnt have my helmet on when I looked back at the video!
rest assured I very rarely ride without a helmet.
Thanks again =]

Take a look at my video of me getting up a rock with my front wheel against it, Ive slowed it down so Its easier to analyze what im doing wrong!
Ive been trying to do these for about 3 weeks now and im struggling to get rear wheel height. is this because my front wheel isnt low enough? If I lower it down I struggle to get any forward momentum and I end up just landing on the sump. I Noticed on the video that Im not getting that "spring" that Id get If I hit the rock rolling, Is this because the front wheel is rolling forward when I jump?
Please take a look at the video and tell me where Im going wrong!
Any advice would be much appreciated =]

Definatly, noticed it in the paper this morning, I told the guy sitting opposite me in the cafe that it was a modified 4RT and he said "ive got one of those!"
found a new friend lol.
i beleived I also spotted one in the Bourne Ultimatum? it looked a hell of alot more rickety that bonds though!

I do enjoy washing the bike but its finding the time to!
Tom
-
Im interested to know how often people wash their bike? I used to wash mine after every ride but If its been a dry ride and the bike is still easy to work on afterwards I dont bother. even if the bikes been caked in crap there has been the odd time ive left it, (still changed the air filter etc though).
can anyone see why this could be bad practice? would it be damaging the bike in any way or do you find that the only downside to leaving it makes it is that its that bit harder to clean properly when you do get round to it. The way I see it, Less time washing the bike = more time riding it =]
Its always wash it the next day anyway. I ride from about 9am till 6pm and by the time I get back im ready for a bath never mind the bike!

Id say your more at an advantage if your a big lad. as long as your physically fit it can be a good advantage. more weight so you can go through mud a like a tractor and longer arms and legs for making the bike go where you want it to.
some people complain of back pain though so handlebar risers might be a good idea.
I knew a skateboarder with no legs, and he was damn good too!

I think merlin motors sells them, do a search for it, should come up.
Merlin also sells alot on ebay so he might have a copy up there?
The basics DVD is great, but I also found alot of use in the advanced DVD.

Hawks Nest is a good place to ride, its just barely into staffordshire, just outside of buxton. I can give you directions if you want. Its split into 2 parts by a road, the top part has plenty of big rocks on a bank, and the bottom part is more rocks and grass with a very long stream (with more rocks!)

You lot are way too clever, it should be illegal.

This is me learning the hard way that it doesnt matter how many times you do something right and no matter how easy something is, its got to go wrong some time!
What went wrong....
The road curves to the right so I was steering lightly with my right leg off the peg. The bike went a little bit past the "sweet spot" so I brought my right leg in to graze the rear brake to balance it out a bit. problem was, I missed the rear brake!
Shutting the throttle off did nothing as it was a 5th gear wheelie and low in the rev range so there was no engine braking. Decided to abandon ship, run like crazy and then laugh like a lunatic (people have confirmed that I do not laugh like this normally!)
Ive done 1000's of wheelies and this is the first ever time ive flipped it, what are the chances id catch it on camera?
Wheelie was done (poorly) on a 2008 Gas Gas 300 Pro at Hawks Nest near buxton.
Anyway, Enjoy!

oh, and matt, Im not sure if there are any clubs that ride at bonsall, however there is burycliffe quarry which is very near to bonsall, its a small venue but packed full of stuff perfect for trials.
when you get your bike give me a shout and ill show you around.

a lad I take riding is 14, im 22 and always sign for him at trials with no problems, i think that all they are looking for is someone old enough to take responsibility for them, but as for the official rules, no idea!

I thought I replied to this thread, was my post removed for some reason? just checking im not going daft!

Id be interested to see what you think to it when you get one, your obviously very mechanically and technically minded so id trust your opinion over anyone elses (all the advice youve given me up to now has been sound). when are they due to come in? any ideas?

Also, Jordi Tarres doesnt look very pleased at the end of the video, its like he's saying "Its all right, but it still needs alot of work" or, "Its crap, dont make me ride that thing again!"
